ADRENALINE PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 6/10/2008 10:42 AM
Adrenaline Featherweight Division Fight
Joe Pearson (25-10-1) vs. John Hosman (7-3-1)

Joe Pearson is easily becoming one of the most under recognized submission fighters rocking the MMA universe today. Out of twenty five career victories, twenty three in total have come by submission, which is an astounding ninety two percent. Joe Pearson has even fought current WEC Featherweight Champion Urijah Faber, but lost to him in January 2007 at WEC 25. At one point in time, Joe Pearson went on a six fight win streak and has fought in PRIDE, World Extreme Cagefighting and Courage Fighting Championships. John Hosman is a rising star in MMA, who is like Joe Pearson in that he has more career submission victories then by any other method of victory. John Hosman is on a five fight win streak and has primarily fought in the Xtreme Fighting Organization company.

My Prediction: Joe Pearson

Adrenaline Heavyweight Division Fight
Louis Taylor (2-0-0) vs. Adam Maciejewski (6-4-0)

Louis Taylor is being viewed as a top prospect in the MMA community, with an undefeated record and two victories by submission and knockout respectively. The longest fight in the short career of Louis Taylor went forty seconds into the second round, which goes to show his finishing abilities. Thus far, Louis Taylor has fought in the Coral Combat Classic and International Sport Combat Federation promotions. Adam Maciejewski fought UFC alumni in his first ever professional MMA fighter when he lost to UFC Ultimate Fighter alumni Sam Hoger in October 2003. Interestingly enough, Adam Maciejewski holds one of the quickest victories in MMA history when he knocked out Reese Shaner in six seconds of round one in the Do Fighting Challenge 3. Adam Maciejewski has already fought in major MMA groups like the International Fight League and King Of The Cage.

My Prediction: Adam Maciejewski

Adrenaline Lightweight Division Fight
Joe Jordan (41-12-2) vs. Ryan Williams (5-2-0)

Joe Jordan is easily the most experienced fighter on the card with fifty two career fights and he has fought some of the top MMA fighters like Rich Clementi, Melvin Guillard, Jens Pulver, Josh Neer, Roger Huerta, Jorge Gurgel, Clay Guida and Hermes Franca. Joe Jordan has gone on a win streak of fifteen straight wins that stretched from September 2006 to August 2007. Just to show how experienced Joe Jordan is, he once fought two fights in two days as he defeated Dusty Puckett in 7/14/07 for the Iowa Challenge promotion before defeating Mike Severe in 7/16/07 for the Extreme Challenge Promotion. Since losing his first two career fights, Ryan Williams has since gone on a five fight win streak, last competing in March 2008. In his short career, Ryan Williams has primarily fought in the Xtreme Fighting Organization promotion, with victories coming by submission, knockout and decision. The biggest thing hampering Ryan Williams chance for victory is his lack of experience when compared to opponent Joe Jordan, who has fought forty eight more fights than himself.

My Prediction: Joe Jordan

Adrenaline Lightweight Division Fight
Dom O’Grady (4-0-0) vs. Mike Stumpf (9-1-0)

This is the first time in the short career of Dom O’Grady that he has fought outside of the Xtreme Fighting Organization, which is where all of his previous fights were at. Dom O’Grady is becoming a knockout specialist as half of his career victories have come by knockout thus far. This is easily the biggest fight of Dom O’Grady’s career and it could be his breakthrough fight if he is victorious at Adrenaline. Speaking of being primarily an Xtreme Organization fighter, Mike Stumpf has fought eight of ten career fights in the same organization. Unlike Dom O’Grady, Mike Stumpf is more comfortable as a submission fighter, with six career victories coming by submission. Prior to suffering his first career loss, Mike Stumpf went on a six fight win streak and is currently on a three fight win streak. The only career loss for Mike Stumpf has come by decision, which shows that no fighter has been able to submit or knock him out.

My Prediction: Dom O’Grady
