UFC Middleweight Division Fight
Rob “Monster” Yundt (6-1-0) vs. Rob Kimmons (20-3-0)
Prior to entering the UFC in early 2008, Rob Yundt was a dominant fighter who competed mainly in the state of Alaska. In the Alaskan Fighting Championships, Rob Yundt went six and zero, with all but one fight ending by either knockout or submission. When he entered the UFC in 2008, Rob Yundt lost to top middleweight fighter Ricardo Almeida at UFC 81. Rob Yundt is a fighter who is comfortable with fighting on the feet or on the ground, but has yet to win a fight outside of the Alaskan Fighting Championship. Rob Kimmons is a heavily experienced fighter who has competed in World Extreme Cagefighting, International Fighting Organization and Victory Fighting Championships. In his career, Rob Kimmons has even fought top UFC veterans like Marvin Eastman, Ryan Jensen and Joe Riggs. Rob Kimmons is primarily a ground fighter, with twelve career victories coming by submission and five by knockout.
My Prediction: Rob Kimmons
UFC Middleweight Division Fight
Tim Credeur (9-2-0) vs. Cale Yarbrough (0-0-0)
During the UFC Ultimate Fighter 7, coach Forrest Griffin predicted that Tim Credeur would make it to the finals, but a loss to CB Dalloway in a second semi-final fight put an end to that. Tim Credeur is a heavily experienced fighter who has competed in the King Of The Cage, Bodog Fight and Rage In The Cage. Tim Credeur is primarily a submission fighter with seven career victories coming by submission, and he has fought Elite XC fighter Joey Villasenor and WEC fighter Chael Sonnen. Despite competing in the UFC Ultimate Fighter 7 reality show, Cale Yarbrough has yet to compete in a professional fight. This could either be his biggest advantage or disadvantage, because while Cale Yarbrough is completely inexperienced, Tim Credeur can’t scout a fighter who he has never seen fight.
My Prediction: Tim Credeur
UFC Middleweight Division Fight
Jeremy “Gumby” Horn (79-17-5) vs. Dean Lister (10-5-0)
When it comes to fighting experience, you cannot get any better than Jeremy Horn, who has competed in over a hundred professional MMA fights. The list of MMA fighters that has fought Jeremy Horn includes Chuck Liddell, Dan Severn, Frank Shamrock, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Ricardo Arona, Eugene Jackson, Randy Couture, Elvis Sinosic, Vernon White, Forrest Griffin, Renato Sobral, David Louiseau, Chael Sonnen, Anderson Silva, Josh Burkman, Matt Lindland and Nate Marquardt. Jeremy Horn and Dean Lister fought once before at King Of The Cage 31, where Jeremy Horn was victorious. Jeremy Horn is primarily a submission fighter who has achieved nearly fifty career victories by submission. Dean Lister s a fighter on the verge of becoming a top contender in the UFC Middleweight Division, but has yet to get that breakthrough victory. Dean Lister rose to prominence in the UFC as Tito Ortiz’s assistant coach in the UFC Ultimate Fighter season three. Dean Lister is also a well traveled fighter who has competed in PRIDE and King Of The Cage before coming to the UFC. Like his opponent Jeremy Horn, Dean Lister is a ground fighter who has gotten eight career victories by submission.
My Prediction: Jeremy Horn
UFC Welterweight Division Fight
Matt Brown (6-6-0) vs. Matt “No Regard” Arroyo (3-1-0)
Even though most UFC fans recently saw Matt Brown competing on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 7, Matt Brown hasn’t fought a professional MMA fight in nearly a year. Prior to competing on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 7, Matt Brown fought some top notch competitors like UFC Ultimate Fighter alumni Pete Spratt and Chris Lytle. Matt Brown and Matt Arroyo have fought against each other once before, at Real Fighting Championships 7, and Matt Brown was victorious. Matt Brown has had only one fight go to decision, which his six victories all came by knockout or submission. Matt Arroyo has only suffered one career loss, that was to the previously mentioned Matt Brown at Real Fighting Championships 7. Unlike opponent Matt Brown, Matt Arroyo does have previous UFC experience, when he defeated John Kolosci at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 6 Finale. Matt Arroyo is a featured submission fighter, as all three of his professional victories have come by way of submission.
My Prediction: Matt Brown
UFC Middleweight Division Fight
Marvin “The Beastman” Eastman (15-7-1) vs. Drew McFedries (6-3-0)
This could be the make or break fight for both middleweight competitors in Marvin Eastman and Drew McFedries. Marvin Eastman is riding a two fight win streak in the UFC and International Fight Organization, but may have finally found his groove in the UFC after defeating Terry Martin. Besides his UFC appearances, Marvin Eastman has also fought in the King Of The Cage, World Fighting Alliance and TKO promotions. Marvin Eastman is a fighter who is comfortable fighting on the ground or on his feet, but Marvin Eastman is known mostly for his endurance as most of his victories have come by decision. Drew McFedries is a fighter who needs a UFC victory badly, as he is currently two and two in UFC competition. Drew McFedries last fought at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 12, losing to Patrick Cote, but was dealing with serious family issues at the time. Drew McFedries is a fighter known for his knockout power, having won four of six career fights by knockout.
My Prediction: Marvin Eastman
UFC Welterweight Division Fight
“The Peoples Warrior” Josh Burkman (9-5-0) vs. Dustin “McLovin” Hazelett (10-4-0)
After a disappointing loss to Mike Swick at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 12, Josh Burkman looks to move up in the UFC Welterweight Division against Dustin Hazelett. Josh Burkman is a longtime UFC fighter, having more than half of his career fights taking place in the UFC. During his time in the UFC, Josh Burkman has taken on elite fighters like Drew Fickett, Jon Fitch, Josh Neer, Karo Parisyan and Mike Swick. Josh Burkman has won the majority of his fights by decision, but has the striking and ground game skills to control the fight. Dustin Hazelett is an underappreciated fighter in the UFC, mainly staying under the radar, despite having a winning record in the UFC. Dustin Hazelett has fought some of the top MMA fighters around the world like Junior Assuncao, Tony DeSouza, Diego Saraiva, Jonathan Goulet and Josh Koscheck. Dustin Hazelett is a fighter who likes to keep his fights on the ground, with seven career victories coming by submission.
My Prediction: Dustin Hazelett
