Sweeney claims Castagnoli is hiding in Japan because he is scared.  He says he called everyone in his book, but no one wanted to come before the freaks in Long Island, so his guest, accompanied by Bobby Dempsey, is Shane Hagadorn.  Hagadorn teases Dempsey with some Starburst.

Match thoughts:

I enjoyed the opener, and thought Rocky did a nice job of hanging with his submissions.  My biggest complaint was that Danielson won by going after the arm and not the leg he'd been working on.

The next bout was a solid first round match.  I mean that in the best possible way.  It was short, quickly paced with a limited amount of rest holds, and they wasted no time.  Couple funny spots, too.

Another fun first round match, with a nice surprise finish.

Necro-Go was a nice change of pace from the more technical first round matches.  It wasn't pretty at times, but it was effective.

The Sweet and Sour Show was boring, which you could probably guess based on who the guest was.

Steen-Danielson was a nice tease for what could be a great feud down the line.  They had Romero wear down Danielson in the first match, so it makes perfect sense for Steen to go over with a Sharpshooter.

Generico and Go put on a textbook big man-little man match.  The selling here is off the charts.  A Generico-Steen final would have been fun, but you can't waste that match without a proper build.

The four way wasn't anything more than filler.  Tornado totally outshone everyone else in the match.

More filler with the tag match.  I don't like watching Gowen wrestle, so this did nothing for me.  And since when do the referees care about the legal man in tag matches?

The finals were good, but I hate Fighting Spirit.  Hate hate hate it.  It looks so silly.  Can't complain about a Kevin Steen title shot, though.

Overall, I'd recommend this on DVD.  It's not a strong must buy, since there are no blowaway, must see matches, but everything in the tournament was entertaining.  ROH, as usual, did a good job of covering for the weather.  None of the non tournament material is worth watching, to be honest.
