- WWC held their weekly house show/TV taping last Saturday in Bayamon, PR.
Here are the match results from the show:
1. Cage Match - Thunder & Lightning defeated The Shane Twins
2. Huracan Castillo defeated "El Comandante"
3. WWC Women's title Match - Sexy Mary vs Killer Kat - The match was
interrupted by Ray Gonzalez, who told both female performers to get out of his
ring. He came into the ring with "The Family" (Noriega, Profe, Paparazzi, Tommy
Diablo & his bodygueard, Avriela and Jose Chaparro). He addresses the crowd and
tells them that next Saturday will mark the return of the best interview segment
in Puerto Rico wrestling history, "El Cafe del Milenio" (Millenium Cafe). The
only difference is that now it will be called "Mr Raytings Cafe". He then
proceeds to ask Noriega to talk about what is going to happen to Shane later on
in the night. Noriega takes the mic and starts talking about what he will do to
Shane, then glances at Gonzalez who is holding the Universal title and making a
comment to Chaparro about it. Noriega does not like what he sees and grabs his
belt from Gonzalez' hands.
4. Johnny Ringo defeated Rico Suave with some help from Huracan Castillo.
5. WWC's Puertorrican title match - Tommy Diablo became the new champion after
defeating BJ with the help of his bodyguard.
6. WWC Tag Team title match - "The Texas Outlaws" (Bad Boy Bradley & Todd Dean)
regained the tag titles by defeating the D'Jour Twins.
7. Shane defeated Noriega, thus becoming the #1 contender for WWC's Universal
title. During the match, Avriela provided a chair for Noriega to use but he
ended on the receiving end of the chair shot. Shane went up the top rope and
landed the "elbow from the skies" for the 1,2,3.
8. Orlando Colon defeated Ray Gonzalez via DQ. Before the match, Colon came out
of the locker rooms with a visible limp, which means that we will see how he got
"injured" at the next Saturday's TV show. Gonzalez received him in the ring by
throwing powder to his eyes. During the match he worked on Colon's knee for the
most part. In the closing minutes of the match, Colon had Gonzalez in a figure
4 leg lock and Chaparro, along with the rest of "The Family" came in to the ring
and attacked Colon. Shane's music hits and he comes in to clean the house and
the show comes to an end.
- Although "Glamour Boy" Shane's appearance was a one shot deal, it seems they
will be building a feud between him and Noriega. Most likely they will feud up
to their next big event, which is "Septiembre Negro" (Black September). This
should give Noriega some good exposure to get polished and better establish his
Universal title run. Shane will bring the credibility that Noriega's opponents need
right now to help him cement his main event status. In the mean time, they keep
slowly giving hints and building the heat between Noriega and Ray Gonzalez. As
I have stated before, smart booking will be the key to this future feud. So
far, so good...
- IWA held their weekly house show/TV taping last Saturday in Levitown, PR.
Here are the match results from the show:
1. Hardcore title Match - "Totin The Clown" retained defeating "Mr. Pleasure"

2. Hardam Kadafi & Zaeir Arafat w/ Imam Ali defeated El Bakano & Onix
At this point, Richard Rondon comes out and demands a match with Romeo. The
promoter, Edwin Vazquez (Cobra) tells him that he has no documentation from his
doctors stating that he can come back to the ring. Rondon tells him he has the
paperwork ready and hands it to Vazquez. The promoter says he will have his
legal team look at it immediately and will have an answer for him later during
the night.
3. IWA Intercontinental title Match - Superstar Romeo defeated Mr Big via DQ.
Mr Big retains the title. There was interference from Spectro and Rondon during
the match. After the match ended, the promoter (Vazquez) comes out and tells
Romeo and Rondon that they will have their waited match next week, since his
legal team gave him the ok after reviewing the documents presented by Rondon.
4. Chris Joel defeated Angel
5. IWA Heavyweight title Match - Joe Bravo defeated "The Buffalo" Bison Smith
with the help of Giant Manson.
6. "Faces of Fear" (Spectro & Giant Manson) defeated Chicano & Blitz with
interference from Dennis and Noel (Duenos de la Malicia).
7. Cruz del Diablo and Duenos de la Malicia fought to a No Contest as they never
even got close to getting in the ring. They fought all throughout the venue and
even outside in the parking lot. The ref called the match and now they will be
facing on Saturday inside a steel cage.
- This Saturday, IWA will be running in Bayamon, PR and will feature one of the
most awaited matches Richard Rondon vs Superstar Romeo in a grudge match. Also
they will have Cruzz and Diabolico (Cruz del Diablo) go up against Dennis and
Noel (Duenos de la Malicia) for the Tag Titles, inside a steel cage.
- In the past I had mentioned that there were rumors of a couple of new
promotions that would be establishing in the island. Well, we already have an
official announcement for one of these companies. EWO (Evolution Wrestling
Organization) will be presenting their first event named "Evolution 2008" on
Sunday August 31st at the Arena Pier 10 in San Juan, PR. They will be
announcing which wrestlers will be participating of this event, although they
have been very clear that establishing the young talent is their priority. I
will have more details as they come along.
- The other company is the NonStop Wrestling Entertainment (www.nwepr.com).
Other than the launch of their official website this past June, there have not
been too much movement on the company's front. It is said that they will go
full blown in about 4 to 6 weeks, although a specific date, time and place has
not been announced yet. I will also keep you all updated with the details as
soon as they come along.
