NWA  ANARCHY TV TAPING REPORT by LARRY GOODMAN

EPS: 467-138 to 469-140 (1st # Wildside & Anarchy, 2nd Anarchy)

Last night’s NWA Anarchy television taping in Cornelia produced a surprising title change, as New Wave defeated the NWA Elite to win the tag team championship in an unadvertised title match. The Elite, comprised of Shatter and Kimo managed by Jeff G. Bailey, won the titles just a month ago at Hostile Environment. While there is still no official word that Shatter has signed with WWE, the title switch left little doubt about where his future lies.

It certainly not one of Anarchy’s larger or hotter crowds. Attendance was down to 150. Indie crowds in these parts have been down across the board of late. Anarchy’s attendance is holding up better than most.

Quality wise, it was a fine show. They experimented with some different things, and with a full two months before the next major show, Fright Night, this was the perfect time to do it. Given the situation with Shatter, the tag title change worked out quite nicely. The main event worked well in setting the stage for Iceberg’s next heavyweight title challenge.

NWA Anarchy owner Jerry Palmer addressed the crowd with Tabitha at his side. Photos of their new born son Griffin, still under 3 pounds after being born 10 weeks prematurely, were displayed on the big screen. Jerry said what took place 3 weeks ago was the most terrifying and heart wrenching experience of his life. Tab and Griffin both ended up on ventilators fighting for their lives. Jerry said it was the calls and emails that kept him going during that time. Jerry said the Anarchy locker room stepped up and produced one of the best television tapings of the year in his absence. Jerry promised to make Anarchy better than ever (based on this segment, a better mic is on the list). The fans gave the Palmers a standing ovation.

(1) Jeff Lewis beat Bo Newsome in 4:36. I wonder how long it’s been since Lewis jerked the curtain? Newsome got an early flurry before making the rookie mistake of telegraphing a backdrop. Lewis hit a stalling vertical suplex that got a pop from the Bleacher Bums. Newsome hit a spinning neckbreaker and went up top, but no water in the pool for his top rope splash. Lewis finished Newsome with a swinging neckbreaker. Lewis’ work was so smooth that Newsome’s inexperience never came into play.

Lewis taunted Don Matthews. Matthews chased Lewis out of the ring. Jay Clinton tried to jump Matthews and got his head taken off with a lariat, just like last time.

On the WrestleVision, we saw Talent & Money (JT Talent & Drew Pendelton) backstage with third wheel, Caleb Konley. Talent told Konley they needed his assistancet. Konley said sorry, he had a TV title match tonight. Pendleton said Konley’s priorities were messed up.

(2) Truitt Fields beat Caleb Konley to retain the NWA Anarchy Television Title in 6:36. As always, Fields was in splendid shape. He looks to have added some muscle mass. Fields infuriated Konley by doing the Rick Rude swivel hips. He hit a Stinger Splash and then a Lawler fist drop. Crowd quickly got behind Fields once Konley took over. Fields’ has greatly improved his facial expression while selling. Fields countered a tornado DDT with an overhead suplex, and it was both men down. Fields made the comeback. Konley tried to rough up the champ. Killing Fields for the 1-2-3. Solid match. Fields gave Konley more than I would have liked.

(3) Billy Buck beat Bob E (with Tyler Smith) via DQ in 7:48. The Technicians facial hair gives them a mean and nasty look. Smith’s sideburns get more outrageous each time out. The story here was massive interference by Smith. Buck went one on two early. E tried unsuccessfully to stay away from Buck’s bionic elbow. E pumphandled Buck’s arm and went to work on the shoulder with an assist from Smith. E busted out a frogsplash, but it took a lot out of him, and Buck kicked out. Buck was selling the arm huge during his comeback. Buck moved and E speared Smith off the apron. They traded near falls. Smith mistakenly tripped up E and Buck superkicked him. Smith pulled Buck out for the DQ.

Postmatch, E speared Buck, then came off the top rope onto Buck’s shoulder. Chris King hit the ring with his arm still in sling from the number Technicians did on him two weeks ago. Technicians left both members of Wild Bunch laying with their shoulders destroyed. Sweet. This has the makings of a stellar midcard program.

(4) Chip Day beat Slim J in a Young Lion’s Division match (12 minutes). Slim J a Young Lion? He may be under the age limit, but the guy is a 7 year pro and has held numerous titles in Wildside and Anarchy. Adrian Hawkins came out to do commentary. Fans weren’t feeling this match at all – it was a 180 from the high flying lightning-paced style that got over so well in the first Young Lions match. Matwork opening. They squared off after swapping huracanranas. J started working armbar submissions. He also used the Roach Clip. Day countered Anger Management with a tornado kick. Back and forth pin attempts – Malenko/Guerrero this was not. Day hit a double knee off the middle rope for a near fall. Hawkins came to ringside and distracted referee Brent Wiley, as J had Day rolled up for a visual fall. Jay Fury hit the ring with an enzuigiri on J. Day won it with a frogsplash. Technically fine, but overly long and not the type of match the people wanted to see. As a result of the loss, J got stuck with the number one position in a future Young Lions Mega Rumble.

Seth Delay was backstage with a skin tight skull cap covering his newly balded head. Chad Parham started laying it on thick about what a sweet hat Delay had. Parham said they would sell like hotcakes if they marketed them as shower caps. Parham said they had long memories and short tempers where Ace Rockwell was concerned.

(5) NWA Elite (Shatter & Kimo with Jeff G. Bailey) beat Hollywood Brunettes (Andrew Alexander & Kyle Matthews) to retain the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Championship in 8:06. This was scheduled as non-title, but Alexander got on the mic and goaded Bailey into putting the titles on the line. Kimo did his awesome no selling act, as Brunettes tried to use their speed and quickness. They finally succeeded in getting Kimo off his feet for a one count. Matthews started taking serious heat. Kimo suplexed him by his freaking chin, then gave him a tree slam and then, the Muta power drive elbows. Shatter delivered a series of corner shoulder blocks, and Matthews like to have puked up his gall bladder. Alexander got the hot tag but couldn’t put Shatter down. Again, it took a double team to finally get the job done. Brunettes managed to escape a double press slam. Elite collided. Brunettes tried for the Sheeney Curse on Shatter, but Kimo broke that up. Matthews tried for a huracanrana, and Shatter snatched him and planted him with the PTSD like he was nothing.

(6) Chris Mayne pinned T. K. Cross with one foot on the top rope at 3:36. The Bums have adopted Cross as one of their pets. Cross dominated until the finish. Mayne gets it.

The debuting Mayne’s head swelled at an alarming rate. He proclaimed himself to be Anarchy’s only undefeated wrestler and put his streak on the line against anybody in the back. It got great heat. Earth to Mayne - anybody turned out to be Mikal Judas.

(7) Mikal Judas squashed Mayne in 1:32. Mayne’s eyes were bulging as Judas approached the ring. Judas brutalized him. Mayne went way, way up for the chokeslam, and flew far, far across the ring on El Crucifijo (Border Toss). Judas gave the title belt around the waist motion.

(8) Mr. Adonis (with Jeremy Vain) beat Hayden Young in 6:34. Vain said he wasn’t feeling it, so Adonis was taking his place. Vain’s chickenshit ways know no bounds. He was overmatch against Judas but here he was doing the same thing against a guy his own size. Young got a great pop. Adonis slowed down Young’s mile-a-minute attack with a sleeper. Young went for the spinning enzuirgiri, but Adonis turned it into an exploder suplex. Adonis used his power game to decimate Young’s lower back. V interfered liberally. Adonis had Young in position for a Crackerjack, but he escaped and hit the spinning enzuigiri. Young’s comeback culminated with Adonis on the deck after taking the Coldshot. Young went to the top for his signature Flying Squirrel. He fought off Vain’s interference, but Adonis was able to get to his feet. The finish was logical, although maybe a bit too subtle – Young tried for a body slam, and collapsed due to the cumulative effects of the damage to his low back.

(9) New Wave (Derrick Driver & Steven Walters) beat Talent & Money (JT Talent & Drew Pendleton with Caleb Konley) in 5:44. T & M dragged a reluctant Konley down the ramp. Monster pop for New Wave. In the early going, Walters did the old school headlock/headscissors takedown on T & M. Driver took the heat with Konley declining an opportunity to interfere. Crowd was hot for Driver. Pendleton silenced them with a wheelbarrow face plant. Off the hot tag, Walters gave Pendleton a German suplex, but Talent saved. Driver then pinned Pendleton after the Unskinny Bop. Konley walked out on his loser partners. Fine for what it was.

Greg Hunter’s attempt to interview the victorious number one contenders was rudely interrupted by Jeff G. Bailey. He said New Wave’s fan base consisted of teenage girls in their training bras, dried up old prunes and homosexuals. Bailey offered the “nice little pretty boys” a title shot if they dared. After a brief consultation, New Wave knocked Bailey on his ass. The Elite hit the ring. New Wave bailed and grabbed the title belts. It was on.

(10) New Wave beat NWA Elite (with Bailey) to win the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Championship in 8:30.
They brawled outside the ring with Elite getting much the better of it. The destruction continued inside the ring with Walter taking wicked stiff punishment from Shatter’s high impact offense and Kimo’s martial arts strikes. Shatter speared Walters for a near fall. Shatter set him up for the PTSD, but Walters escaped and connected with a superkick. Hot tag to Driver. Kimo rolled through on Driver’s high crossbody and picked him up, but Walters sent Kimo down with a missile dropkick to his partner’s back. Driver hit a quebrada on Kimo, but Shatter nailed Driver with a spinebuster. Shatter had Driver up for the PTSD powerbomb when Walters clipped his knee. Driver landed on top of Shatter for the pin. The surprise title change got the pop of the night. Shatter paused to take a long look at the crowd on his way out. Few fans seemed to recognize this might be their last time seeing him in Anarchy.

(11) Shadow Jackson & Sal Rinauro & Ace Rockwell beat Devil’s Rejects (Iceberg & Shaun Tempers & Azarel with the Rev) in 16 minutes. Best heat of the night. Delay and Parham attacked Rockwell as he was being introduced, so it was three against two. The crowd revved up a HUGE “Shadowmania” chant for Jackson, as the faces fought the odds. Rinauro tried for an ill-advised top rope move near the heel corner. Rejects gave him a beating. Iceberg switched things up by working on Sal’s shoulder with a hammerlock slam and Thigh Drop of Doom. The Reverend used his staff on Jackson. Jackson confronted the Reverend at ringside, but Iceberg blasted Jackson from the blindside like a charging rhino. With Jackson down and Rinauro in deep s***, Rockwell returned to take the hot tag. He didn’t have the upper hand for long. The crowd chanted “Let’s Go Ace”, as the Rejects worked on his midsection. Jackson got the hot tag and finally got a clean shot at Iceberg. Azrael cut Jackson off, but Azrael collided with Berg, and Jackson pinned Azrael clean with the 1031.

Postmatch, Iceberg and Jackson squared off and the ref corp hit the ring to separate them.

NWA Anarchy TV Report by Ca$hFlowX

Episode 130

August 11, 2008

WRESTLING: (n.) ’res-ling A sport of contest in which two individuals face off in unarmed combat.

ANARCHY: (n.) an-ar-key (1) A state of lawlessness due to absence of authority. (2) A complete lack of order.

What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!

- Welcome to NWA Anarchy Wrestling, this is PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING~! Last week on NWA Anarchy, The Devil’s Rejects retained the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Titles sans their fearless leader Dan Wilson via intentional DQ against the New Wave when Shaun Tempers plastered Derek Driver with a belt shot. Very little was settled between the Konkrete Gorillas vs. Shadow Jackson & Slim J. Nemesis unlocked his handcuffs by pickpocketing the referee and led a heinous attack by taping Shadow to the ropes and aiding Jay Fury by hanging Slim J while tied to the Tree of Woe. Right now, Slim is out indefinitely. This week, the three way dance between Iceberg, Phil Shatter and Mikal Judas for the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title from Philips Arena in Atlanta airs in its entirety, and a whole lot more.

- NWA Anarchy Owner Jerry Palmer is mid ring and hot as a firecracker. He wishes Slim a speedy recovery before turning his attention to Seth Delay and his buddy Chad Parham. Somehow, Chad must have brainwashed Seth into believing he is Brutus “the Barber” Beefcake. This prompts Shadow Jackson to enter the ring to a deafening roar from the teeny boppers in attendance. The crowd drowns at Jackson with a “Shadowmania” chant. He wants the Konkrete Gorillas tonight and wants the fans to be his tag partner. Shadow says they gots to die because he has shed so much blood. Palmer acknowledges their problems and reminds Shadow that Hostile Environment will occur on July 19. Shadow says he has an idea, but Palmer catches on and will happily discuss it backstage. Back to the problem at hand, Chad Parham’s schedule is open and Palmer insinuates Shadow will have the opportunity to smoke his wig. Shadow agrees.

1. “Stray Cat” Brodie Ray Chase w/”the Heartbreaker” Melissa Coates pinned Bo “I Got Beat Up by 3 People” Newsome.

I always knew that Brody Ray always had strange fetishes since the 80’s, but to worship a she-man dominatrix is pushing it! (You have admit it’s a fun gimmick.) Melissa is all decked out in dominatrix gear including a handy whip! Newsome eats a pump-handle neckbreaker before escaping a chinlock. After a “bodyslam your debt” commercial, the fans chant “We want Don!” Newsome mounts an offensive surge with a bulldog, a dropkick, and head scissors takedown before Coates distracts him. One spinning powerbomb later and Brody Ray satisfies all of Melissa’s sexual fantasies. Afterwards, Coates slaps Newsome around with Chase holding until Don Matthews makes the save. Unfortunately, the bad news continues for Newsome: Adrian Hawkins. Hawkins lays out Newsome. What a way to treat a good friend.

- Up next, we head backstage to Greg “the Master of Ceremonial Disasters” Hunter stands by to interview NWA Anarchy TV Champion Truitt Fields. Fields acknowledges that he will face a former TV champion, whether its Hayden Young or Jeff Lewis, in the near future. Unfortunately, Hunter’s interviews usually end in disaster and Jeff Lewis interrupts to announce his second sequel. Then Shannon Moore enters… Shannon Moore? What’s with the Shannon Moore look? Jimmy Jacobs looks like Shannon’s stunt double and Hayden Young ditto? This world is only big enough for one Shannon Moore. Truitt thanks Hayden with a handshake and quickly rebukes any intentions the Flying Squirrel becoming TV champion. Fields offers his condolences to Hayden when Brandon Phoenix returns from the North Carolina circuit. Phoenix says he’ll win the title and they can fight it out to determine the #1 contender. Fields concludes, “Don’t you guys feel stupid?” Lewis cracks on Young’s new hairdo. At least no one got hurt during the interview process.

2. Jay Fury w/Nemesis accompanied by security pinned Chip Day.

Day is fresh off a strong showing at the Young Lions Cup and his reward is a Konkrete Gorilla beatdown. Day sneaks in some hope offense until Fury clotheslines him. Fury tosses Day to the floor so the masked Nemesis can suplex him with a loud thud. After commercial, Fury unleashes a German and dragon suplex into a bridge for a two count. Day fights back and leaps over Nemesis’s outstretched hand, but proves to be no match for the Enzifury. Nemesis adds brutality to misery by gorilla press slamming Day to the floor. d**n, that was a sick thud. Nemesis commandeers the mike to offer words of wisdom to Shadow. Blah, blah, blah, we can take you out at any time. This draws a “Nemesissy” chant after all that incessant whining.

3. Iceberg w/”the Reverend” Dan Wilson & the Staff of Righteousness defeated “the Universal Soldier” Phil Shatter w/Jeff G. Bailey and “the Minister of Punishment” Mikal Judas to retain the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title.

This match brings back great memories of attending Mid-Atlantic wrestling in the olden days: no pyrotechnics, no announcers, just wrestlers and managers delivering a roller coaster of emotions for 3 hours. The Rejects’ entrance music would have served perfectly Kevin Sullivan’s satanic gimmick back in the early 80’s. The match starts out with some nice three way hatred: Iceberg’s belly to belly suplex on Judas, Shatter with the German suplex on Shatter and Judas suplexing Shatter on the turnbuckles. Midway through his title defense, Iceberg wipes out Shatter with the cannonball that draws a massive response from the crowd. Shatter fights back with several clotheslines until Judas rocket launches him onto Iceberg. Iceberg counters Judas offense with a suplex on the turnbuckle. After commercial, Shatter draws numerous whoos for applying the Figure 4 leglock on the champ. WHOO! Judas breaks the Figure 4 up with a legdrop. Iceberg evades a chokeslam with an inverted neckbreaker on Judas. Shatter seizes an opening by spearing Iceberg for a near fall. The action continues as the three behemoths collide with each other. The crowd counts along with the referee. Iceberg recovers and heads for the High Rent District. Shatter and Judas cut him off and double superplex Iceberg. Bodies are littered across the ring. Judas arises first, but leaps right into a huge spinebuster by Shatter. Shatter spears the ringpost after Iceberg eludes a corner charge. Judas turns to Iceberg to deliver a chokeslam. Shatter escapes a powerbomb and catapults Judas onto Iceberg. Shatter connects with the PTSD powerbomb, but Iceberg cleanly finishes off the prone Universal Soldier with the Ground Xero splash.

COMMENTS: If you can ignore the lack of commentary, then you have yourself a fun match. All three wrestlers kept everything simple, the action going and rarely took breathers. There was good action throughout to keep everything interesting. There were great facials by Judas as the show closed.

OVERALL: This was kind of a strange episode in that it started off with a couple of normal segment before heading to a major arena setting with no commentary. What was great is that almost all the major feuds received coverage heading into Hostile Environment.

NWA Main Event Report by Larry Goodman
Aired August 2, 2008 on ION affiliate WNPX 28 in Nashville

The show opened with Charming Charles talking to himself about there being no video proof of Ali Stevens winning the Mid-America Heavyweight Title. Charles called up NWA Executive Director Bob Trobich to file a protest. Trobich wanted Charles in Charlotte pronto. Charles said he would be there. “Charmin’, you done done it” he said. A pumpkin pie made by the Mrs. was randomly sitting on the desk. Charles took it out to cool.

1 -- KYLE MAGGARD & “Driller” EDDIE BROWNING vs. “Playboy” SCOTT HAYES & RYAN STONE

JIP with Browning beating on Stone. Announcers Jason James and Tyler Clemens did a “RyanStone Cowboy” joke. They talked about how the video footage would show Snake Jones getting up from everything Stevens had to offer. Browning drilled the mat on a middle rope fist drop. Hot tag off the double down spot. Hayes drilled Maggard with a series of punches in the corner. The faces won it with a double pin – Hayes hit a stunner

WINNERS: Hayes and Stone. Not much to it until the very end. The twin finishers rocked. Hayes threw those punches in the corner exactly like Jerry Lawler.

2 – LONESTAR (with Penelope) vs. SIR LANTE

Huge and I mean HUGE size mismatch with Lonestar being over 300 pounds easy. Penelope interfered freely. Lante rolled Lonestar up for a pin, but Penelope was distracting, and Lonestar cut him off with a wicked lariat. Clemens said Lonestar was part of the goon squad Jeff Daniels was assembling to combat the arrival of “Boogie Woogie Boy” Gary Valiant. Lonestar pinned Lonte with the Lonestar Slam.

WINNER: Lonestar at 4:20. His finisher is a cross between a sitout slam and Michinoku Driver. This was generally ugly. Lonte’s limited offense looked silly. Lonestar is not in shape. But it had its moments – like Penelope wailing on Lonte and that Stan Hansen lariat by Lonestar.

We saw Little Booger sneaking out of the parking lot to steal the pie that Charles had set out to cool. He tried feed it to “Mr. Jones,” who was chained to a boat trailer in the back yard. Snake grunted. Charles caught Booger red-handed with the pie. Booger pleaded ignorance. Charles kayfabed him about the identity of “Mr. Jones.” Charles tasked Booger with accompanying Jones to the Fairgrounds, so he could TCOB in Charlotte. “Welcome to the rasslin’ business, kid.”

3 – Mid-America Television Champion SHANE SMALLS vs. LT FALK in non-title match

JIP with a battle of fast-paced chain wrestling maneuvers underway. James brought up that Falk lost the TV title to Smalls in a fatal four-way without being pinned. Clemens said he heard Falk would earn a title shot by winning this match. Falk hit a flying headscissors and tried for a second one, but Smalls countered by ramming Falk’s back into the turnbuckles. Smalls worked over Falk’s back with high impact moves. In a fit of frustration, Smalls tossed Falk out of the ring and punished his back against the ring apron. Back inside, Falk barely rolled a shoulder before the three count. The crowd brought Falk to life. They started to trade and Falk got the better it. Falk spun Smalls around and sent him down on his face with an enzuigiri. Both men slow to rise. Falk chopped the bejeezus out of Smalls’ chest. Smalls used a short arm back elbow and stunned Falks with a back suplex. Falk got a shoulder up on three consecutive pin attempts. Falk summoned a burst of energy to pin Smalls with an O’Connor Roll.

WINNER: LT Falk in 6:30 of TV time. These two are simply incapable of having a bad match. Their style is a technical as it gets in NWA-ME. Falk is a dynamo as a babyface. Those chops looked hellacious.

Promo by Smalls. He called Falk’s win a fluke. Smalls said he had beaten Falk before and he would do it again. Smalls promised to unleash his entire arsenal on Falk when the title was on the line.

4 – “Boogie Woogie Boy” GARY VALIANT (with Miss Boogie) vs. “The New Age Assassin” TIM RENESTO

Valiant was picking Renesto apart in the early going. Clemens said the bounty on Valiant had been doubled to 50K this week. He talked about the crowd being more amped since Valiant’s arrival in NWAME. Holy s***! Valiant just busted out a ropes walk Lucha style arm drag. Valiant worked the arm and maneuvered Renesto into a cross armbreaker. Back from commercial, Renesto ducked under Valiant’s high crossbody. Renesto applied a Kimura. Valiant’s leg was shaking like a crazy. Renesto used a double chop followed by double leg drop to the groin. Valiant bridged out of one of Renesto’s attempt. Haven’t seen that in a while. Renesto took a great leaping crotch bump on the middle turnbuckle to set up Valiant’s comeback. Valiant came off the top rope onto ref Jamie Ferrari when Renesto moved. The action spilled to ringside with Valiant beating on Renesto and whacking him with a chair. Ferrari came to and DQed Valiant.

WINNER: Renesto via DQ. Valiant did more actual wrestling here than in any of his SAW matches. Renesto is a good opponent for him.

Valiant was beating on Renesto back by the heel dressing room when he was attacked by Jeff Daniels and Lonestar. They dragged Valiant back through the curtain.

Back from commercial break, the heels dumped Valiant back out of the dressing room with a trash barrel over his head. Clemens said there was no telling what went on back there. He said it looked like the bounty had been collected.

5 – ALI STEVENS vs. SNAKE JONES (with Little Booger)

Joined in progress with Stevens and Jones at the top of the balcony bleachers. Stevens smashed Snake’s head into the wall, and Snake tumbled down to bleachers to where he almost rolled off the balcony. Stevens’ bad hip gave way on him and sank down in the bleachers. Snake sat up. They set up a spot where Snake was dangling from the railing before falling to the arena floor below – James called it a 15 foot drop. Snake’s feet were maybe 8 feet from the floor. Nutty stuff in any case. Snake sat up. He limped towards the balcony with security holding him back. Stevens hobbled over and did a dive off the railing that took down the whole mess of them. Stevens appeared to be in excruciating pain as he lay on the floor. Snake sat up again. Snake clamped on a headlock in order to literally drag Stevens over to the ring. The bell rang. Stevens posted Snake. He rolled Snake inside the ring. Stevens could barely roll himself into the ring. Snake sat up again and put Stevens in a choke hold. Security intervened to break it up. In a fit of rage, Snake mowed and I mean MOWED down all three security guards. Stevens locked the cobral clutch on one of the hapless security guards. Stevens blasted Snake with a balled up chain. Snake did not sit up.

WINNER: Double DQ? No Contest? Hell if I know. The craziest train wreck of match you would ever want to see. This was gruesome to watch, but I couldn’t not watch it. There’s no way Stevens should be wrestling with his hip the way it is, much less doing a dive from 12 feet up onto a concrete floor. The fall from the balcony by Jones didn’t look that perilous on TV, but Rick Michaels was never the same after the injury he suffered when he tried a similar stunt at the Fairgrounds. That was one vicious bump that poor security guard took after the stiff kick to the chest from Jones.

Promo by Stevens. He was in a semi-euphoric state. Stevens said that after running through the Main Event roster for months, his karma had finally caught up with him.

For the first time, there’s somebody in that locker room that can take everything I got. And I love it! Baby, I love it! I want you to know, son, you’re going to bring it out. You’re going to bring out the D-O-Double G. You’re going to bring out the pit bull. And son, like I said, I don’t where you’re from, I don’t know who you are, but right now I feel sorry for ya.

6 – No Rules Taped Fist Match: “The Crippler” JEFF DANIELS vs. STEVE-O

JIP with all the action taking place outside the ring. Daniels stapled Steve-O’s forehead and pounded him with taped fists. Steve-O bled. The footage shifted to black and white. James said the suits at ION had been taken the show off the air early due to the violence, and they were determined to stay on until the end this week. He gave a parental advisory. Inside the ring, Steve-O shocked Daniels by kicking out of his flying elbow drop. Daniels brought a chair in. Steve-O ducked and superkicked the chair into Daniels’ face. Daniels bladed right on camera. Steve-O hit a Thesz Press and was pounding away on Daniels when Renesto attacked for the DQ. Renesto stomped the bejeezus out of Steve-O’s back. Daniels started whipping Steve-O with his own belt until Valiant made the save.

WINNER: Steve-O via DQ. Vintage hardcore violence. Daniels rules as a heel. It would have had more impact if it wasn’t on the same show with Stevens/Jones.

The show closed with promos galore.

Renesto said this was his second promo, because they had to censor the first one. Renesto said he didn’t care about the bounty any more. This was personal. He said Boogie had a rep as a shooter, but he had him screaming in the Kimura. Renesto said he was going to beat Boogie up Tuesday night.

Valiant (with Miss Boogie) said Renesto stooped so low as to send one of his best friends, Ben Jordan, to take him out in Ashland City, but he couldn’t get the job done. Valiant said it was anything goes with no time limit and no DQ at the Fairgrounds Tuesday night. That meant he could use anything he wanted. He held up a section of bulletin board. Valiant said it was going to take more than Renesto and Daniels to put him out of commission.

Steve-O had his back to camera – the better to display the welts Daniels put on his back. He said since Daniels liked to play with belts, he had gone to Mike Porter and demanded an Indian Leather Strap match for this Tuesday night. Steve-O took off his hat and pointed at his bandaged forehead. “Jeff Daniels, they don’t call you The Crippler for nothing, but you didn’t cripple me.” Steve-O said Daniels just made him angrier. Daniels said he was going to sign Daniels’ name on his back with the strap. Steve-O said the respect starts now.

Daniels said he bled Steve-O like a hog, and beat him with his own belt, like he was one of his kids that missed curfew. Daniels was exuding evil. Daniels said after all the beatings he had give Steve-O, the boy had to be crazy to ask for a leather strap match. Daniels had a belt and was strapping something to emphasis his points. Daniels vowed that this would be the end. He was sick of Steve-O, and he was going to beat him to death.

Closing Thoughts: Wow. The second half of this show was something else. The show closing promo by Daniels was tremendous. All of the promos were good. Steve-O showed serious fire. Valiant seemed more at home than he did in SAW. The violence level was way up. The Stevens/Jones segment was completely nuts. The question I have is when they give you this much on free TV, is there any reason to go to the live show? How much have they made people care about Steve-O and Valiant getting revenge on Daniels & Renesto? How much allure does violence at the level of early ECW have in 2008? I like the injection of veterans like Daniels, Valiant, Renesto and Lonestar. NWA ME no longer feels like the kiddie corp. I liked protest angle, and while utterly bizarre, the pie vignette with Booger was just too stupefying to be entertaining. They can do something with Hayes and not just because of the Lawler-look-alike factor, but it doesn’t hurt. The longer the match went on, the less impressive Lonestar looked. I thought James and Clemens did a good job of getting the storylines across. The audio was annoying as hell. Clemens was blaring, while the vignettes were barely audible.

JUST OVER A WEEK UNTIL NWA EMPIRE'S JUICED II (AUG 23)
We are just over a week away from NWA Empire's August show, Juiced
II. NWA Empire's Juiced II will be held next Saturday night (August
23) at NWA Empire's home "arena" St. Johnsburg Firehall (7165 Ward
Road (Route NY-429) in North Tonawanda, NY).

Juiced II will see three title matches, and hopefully the end to a
long burning feud between "Mastiff" Will Christianson and Jimmy
Olsen.

In one of the title matches, NWA Empire Heavyweight Champion Jonny
Puma will be putting the belt on the line against the
popular "Inferno" Jonny Adams. This will be Puma's first title
defense since sending his mentor Blackjack Phoenix in retirement in
June at NWA Empire's Buffalo Beatdown II.

Also scheduled for a title defense at Juiced II will be the newly-
crowned NWA Empire Tag Team Champions the Ring Crew Express ("I Can't
Drive 55 Sammy Dunn & "Diamond" Dave Marcos). They will be making
their first defense of the belts that they won from Evan & Kyle
McCloud in a three-way match at NWA Empire's Buffalo beatdown II in
June. Their opponents at Juiced II will be the popular team Latin
team of Stargazer and La Vida Loca, collectively known as Dos Blancos
Chicos. This should be a high-flying and fast-paced match.

The third title match will see the crowning of a new NWA Empire Lord
of the Dance (3-Way) Champion. Stargazer, who had won the vacant
title in February at NWA Empire's Blizzards & Brainbusters in a match
against Super Assassin and "The Bull of Black Mountain" Gabe Saint,
recently forfeited the title to concentrate on tag team wrestling
with his Dos Blancos Chicos partner La Vida Loca. The three men
chosen by NWA Empire management to vie for the vacant title at Juiced
II are "Amazing" Kevin Grace, recent NWA Empire newcomer Zak Atticus,
and current NWA Upstate No Limits Champion Gabe Saint. For Saint, it
will be another chance to possibly wear the Lord of the Dance gold,
as he also competed in the February match in which Stargazer won the
vacant title.

The feud between Jimmy Olsen and "Mastiff" Will Christianson has been
raging for well over six months now, and has showed no signs of
ending. In fact the hatred between these two fierce competitors has
been getting more heated at each show. So NWA Empire management has
decided to put them into a feud ending Last Man Standing Match. This
should hopefully prove once and for all which of these two warriors
is the better man.

FLIERS AVAILABLE FOR NWA EMPIRE'S JUICED II
NWA Empire could use your help in the distribution and posting of
fliers for NWA Empire's Juiced II. If you would like to distribute
or post fliers to help out the fed, please contact me by e-mail at
markoship@gmail. com and I will e-mail you both a color and a black-

regularly gathers are great places to hand-out and/or post fliers.

NWA EMPIRE BOYS MINE GOLD IN PWA NIAGARA
Several NWA Empire wrestlers recently made major impacts in Canada,
appearing on shows run by Canadian promoter Gary Gambini under the
banner of Pure Wrestling Association Niagara. Last weekend (August 2
& 3) PWA Niagara held two shows as part of Port Colborne, Ontario's
Canal Days Festival. NWA Empire wrestlers made a great showing on
those cards, bringing a number of PWA Niagara's championship belts
back to the United States with them. Ron Falco successfully wrested
the PWA Niagara Heavyweight title away from fellow NWA Empire
wrestler Jonny Puma. "The Bull of Black Mountain" Gabe Saint
defeated Kris "Impact" White to capture the PWA Niagara Niagara
Tradition Championship. To put the icing on the cake, NWA Empire tag
team Violence & Volume (Ice & "Wrestling Personified" Chris Cooper)
captured the PWA Niagara Tag Team belts from the popular Italianos
(Primo Scardino & Tony "Stickball" Carbonie). This sure says a lot
for NWA Empire talent when they can go and so dominate another fed's
roster!

08/09 New Japan

The prestigious midsummer festival, the G1 Climax, began its latest chapter today, one that has the promise to be one of the best yet. On October 10th, 1999, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Wataru Inoue, along with Katsuyori Shibata, debuted at Korakuen Hall. Nine years later, Tanahashi is the top young wrestler in the Japanese industry and has beaten many top names, while Wataru Inoue finally conquered the junior division after years of effort, and now takes his first major steps in the heavyweight division. They clashed today in the opening match and the first of the tournament, and the newcomer to the heavyweight division did not go down easily to Tana, but was always a little outmatched and tapped out to a Texas Cloverleaf hold. This was Tanahashi's first match back after a long injury, but he didn't seem to have lost a single step. DRADITION ace Yutaka Yoshie returned to New Japan and battled an old rival in the form of Toru Yano, scoring a big opening day
win over the IWGP Tag Team Champion, using Fujinami's Dragon sleeper to earn the two points and perhaps send a message to others in the tournament. ZERO1-MAX president Shinjiro Otani also scored big on day one, avenging a singles match loss from earlier this year to Manabu Nakanishi, pinning a man who has been one of the most noticeable and sought after talents in a big revival year for him so far. Satoshi Kojima, fresh off quitting his post as Voodoo Murders head honcho in All Japan, started the G1 in less than convincing fashion, falling to gaijin ace Giant Bernard in an intense power fight. These two fought to a double KO in the 2006 G1, but Bernard perhaps took advantage of Kojima's inactivity in return months due to injury, pinning him after the Bernard bomb.

After four attempts and four losses, Hiroyoshi Tenzan finally knocked down a man who has served as a "wall" for him in his career, the great Toshiaki Kawada, pinning him on day one of the tournament. Tenzan has been in blistering form since returning from injury, and having ended or at least toned down his blood feud with Takashi Iizuka in July, now has his eyes on trophies and titles, today's win over Kawada showing that Tenzan is or WAS perhaps in peak condition. I say "WAS" because GBH stormed the ring after the match and super powerbombed Tenzan through a table, forcing him to leave on a stretcher and casting his remaining G1 campaign into doubt. Today's main event was the long awaited rematch from last year's semi final, when Nagata sidelined Nakamura for months with a shoulder injury. Nakamura scored sweet revenge over Nagata, forcing him to tap out to a cross armbreaker and pick up two points, the first step towards his dream of a first G1 win.

New Japan Pro Wrestling
August 11, 2008
Yokohama, Japan

Day two of the G1 Climax saw a couple more surprises, as well as some expected results. Wataru Inoue vs. Shinjiro Otani was a battle of two men who have things in common - both were long-term juniors who converted to the heavyweight divison after years in the lightweight class. Otani continued his excellent start to his first ever G1, defeating the younger generation Inoue with a Spiral bomb today to go 2-0 and on to four points. Wataru is already learning the difficulties of life in the heavyweight division and has a long way to go. The biggest upset of the show saw GBH's Toru Yano defeat Hiroyoshi Tenzan, who had a handicap against him again. Super powerbombed through a table after pinning Kawada the other day, Tenzan was bandaged up today and had to contend with outside interference from Iizuka, allowing Yano to score the big win with his Oni Koroshi. Manabu Nakanishi may already be out of the running for a spot in the final, after his second loss on
the trot. Nakanishi has failed to follow up so far on the vigor which won him an IWGP Heavyweight Title shot and got him within a breath of the Fire Festival final, and fell to Satoshi Kojima's lariat.

Wearing black tights and red kickpads, Shinsuke Nakamura looked closer to his original self than he has in a long time today, craftily dealing with the power and bulk of DRADITION ace Yutaka Yoshie, before making him submit to a new chickenwing hold finisher, one of the many armbar variations Nakamura has been practicing in the build-up to the G1. Hirooki Goto came out charging against Toshiaki Kawada in a "battle of two great men" today and put up one hell of a fight against "Dangerous K", but you always had to feel he would come one step short, as he has against much senior opposition this year, and was eventually kept down by a running face kick. Togi Makabe avenged a string of losses to arch-rival Hiroshi Tanahashi, the local boy capping off a great day for GBH by defeating the young ace today. Like Tenzan, Tanahashi had more than Makabe to deal with, the fly-that-won't-go-away Tomoaki Honma constantly interfering, and together they damaged the leg
Tanahashi has worked for months to heal. Makabe pulled out an old school Prison hold (lock) and forced Tanahashi to submit. To celebrate their big wins, Makabe and Yano left the arena in a limousine with a group of pretty young ladies.

The 2008 G1 Climax is in a state of utter chaos after the third day, with no real breakaway wrestlers, and only two men - Bernard and Makabe - without a defeat as yet. Today's tournament matches started with no surprises, as Togi Makabe again used a Prison hold (lock) for victory, sending Wataru Inoue 0-3 in his debut tournament. Battered and bruised thanks to constant GBH attacks, Hiroyoshi Tenzan again tasted defeat today, at the hands of Hirooki Goto. Goto hit Tenzan with some heavy bombs, forcing a doctor stoppage as the ring doctor deemed Tenzan in no condition to continue. The man tipped to go far in the tournament was again stretchered out, his campaign looking bleak. Giant Bernard bested his second outsider opponent, following up on his win over Kojima by pinning Otani today. RISE's gaijin ace made Otani bleed, en route to a comprehensive victory. Nagata scored his first win of the tournament and subsequently handed Yoshie his second loss on the
trot, pinning the DRADITION man in a backdrop hold. The big upset of the day saw Toru Yano counter a Nakamura cross armbreaker with a skillful cradle to unexpectedly go 2-1, wins over Tenzan and Nakamura now putting the GBH man in a surprisingly strong position. And a summer of ups and downs saw another "up" for Nakanishi, as he pinned Tanahashi in a hot main event, pinning the reigning G1 champion with a Dai*Nakanishi German to hit back after two losses on the trot.

Osaka, Japan

Day one of the Osaka double header saw the G1 sent into an even more chaotic state, with the only two unbeaten entrants finally pinned. Nakanishi's immense comeback after a poor start is somewhat symbolic of his up-and-down summer results-wise, today's victory over the previous unbeaten Giant Bernard proof of what he is capable of. After wins over Tenzan and Nakamura, it was back down to earth for Yano, as he was unable to topple a third former IWGP Heavyweight Champion, going down to Nagata's backdrop hold. Yoshie, on the other hand, hit back from two key losses by beating younger generation Hirooki Goto in a close match with a diving body press to move to four points. Shinjiro Otani's return to his old haunt continued to gather steam when he took the lead in Block A with a big win over Makabe. Makabe pinned Otani and beat him bloody on the opening day of the Fire Festival you'll remember, so this was sweet revenge for the ZERO1-MAX president. More
revenge came in the next match, as Satoshi Kojima avenged his crucial Champion Carnival loss to Tanahashi, winning an intense war with a lariat. It seemed like months off had not effected Tanahashi when he beat Wataru on the opening day, but now he has lost three matches in a row, and the reigning G1 champions' chances of repeating last year's feat look very bleak. Shinsuke Nakamura has waited for a long time to avenge his 1/4/07 loss to the legendary Toshiaki Kawada, but had that chance today and took it. Nakamura endured most of Kawada's painful moves, then dropped him dangerously with a double-arm piledriver for the big win, his third of the campaign.

8-15 NEW JAPAN

About 10,000 fans witnessed two days of chaotic action at Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium, today's finale to the two shows there still leaving us baffled as to who will clinch the precious two spots that lead to the final. Satoshi Kojima is certainly a candidate, the All Japan star making sure he won both of his Osaka matches by lariating younger generation Hamaguchi Dojo graduate Wataru Inoue today to move on to six points. Kawada also stayed in the hunt, pinning Yano, whose momentum has stalled somewhat after earlier big wins. Nakanishi is the comeback king of the tournament so far, his win over Makabe today meaning he's gone from a 0-2 record to 3-2. If Nakanishi beats Wataru tomorrow - and you'd fancy his chances - he'll sit on eight points, though it will still be unlikely that advances due to direct losses to Otani and Kojima, and both having two matches left, needing to win only one of them to finalize with 100% certainty that they finish above
Nakanishi.

Hiroyoshi Tenzan's G1, which started so brightly when he pinned Kawada, has been ruined by the very group he created, the very group he's engaged in a bloody war all year with, GBH. Their vicious assault after his match with Kawada left him badly injured, and his opponents since have just exploited that, as one has to in the G1 - for there is no room for niceness in a tournament as cutthroat as this. Nagata synched in his Nagata Lock IV, and despite a brave struggle and refusal to tap, Tenzan couldn't move and the referee stopped the match. To add insult to injuries, GBH again hit the ring and beat down Tenzan, though there was finally some relief today, as Kojima ran in to save him. Hiroshi Tanahashi's chances of repeating last year's victory are over. His FOURTH loss on the trot today left him dead bottom of Block A and out of contention. The "ring rust" excuse may be a valid one for Tanahashi, who would surely fare better than this normally. He will
look for a consolation prize when he tackles the on-form Otani on the last day. And in the battle of RISE, second-in-command beat leader, Hirooki Goto scoring a huge win over Nakamura with his Shouten. Goto survived the cross armbreaker and stalled Nakamura's hopes of what may have been early qualification to the final.

TNA's Kurt Angle and AJ Styles arrived today for the first of two appearances, facing each other in a tag. Angle formed a dream team with Chono and they were simply too good for Otani & Styles, Angle forcing Styles to tap out to an ankle lock. Tomorrow they are on opposite sides again, only with Nakamura and Tanahashi thrown into the equation this time.

The two outsiders in Block A, Kojima and Otani, are completed deadlocked in first place with seven points, Kojima set to battle Makabe and Otani taking on Tanahashi tomorrow at Sumo Hall. Underneath on six are Nakanishi, Makabe, and Bernard, followed by Tanahashi, who has the shame of sharing two points with Wataru, two wins behind the next three. Block B is anyone's guess - Nakamura threatened to break away, but hasn't, and key wins today for Goto, Kawada, and Yoshie kept them in the hunt.
