ISLE OF PUERTO RICO: LATEST ON IWA PR, EWO, SAVIO VEGA AND MORE

By Jose M. Perez on 8/31/2008 7:27 PM

IWA-PR was in action Saturday night in Levittown, PR with their weekly house show/TV taping and here are the match results:

1. Onix defeated Ragnar

2. IWA Women's champion vs Black Rose - No Contest
This match never got underway due Black Rose not being present.  Out comes Raymond Sales and he says that he made sure that Black Rose did not make it to the show because since he did not have an opportunity for the Hardcore title, what better title to get around his waist than the Women's title.  Genesis agreed to a match and she retained her IWA Women's title after pinning Sales.

Out came Savio Vega followed by "Los Autenticos", who brought with them the next victim in the "Lottery of Terror".  As they have done in the past, they brought the victim under some black covers and tied up with a rope.  When they were about to start the beating, Edwin Vazquez (The Promoter) came out to stop it.  With him came Onix and Bakano, but when they were about to go in the ring, they turned around and went back to the dressing rooms stating that it looked like it was a trap.  Vazquez then went and got Chicano and Niche to help, but they backed down too saying that it looked like a trap.  Savio then started to laugh at the Promoter saying that his people won't even do what he tells them to do.  All of the sudden, from the victim takes off the black covers, revealing to be Blitz, who was holding a 2X4 and started to swing away at "Los Autenticos".  Chicano and Niche also came in the ring to help as "Los Autenticos" escaped back to the dressing rooms.  Chicano and Niche, once again offered to join forces with Blitz, but Blitz declined and left the ring.

3. Bakano & Vengador Boricua defeated Hardam Kadafi & Zaeir Arafat w/ Imam Ali

4. Chris Joel vs "Mystery Opponent"
Savio Vega came out to argue with Chris Joel about the situation with Miguel Perez.  Miguel Perez came running into the ring from the other side of the arena.  Kendo stick in hand, he went on to attack Joel for a few minutes, leaving him in very bad shape, all bloodied.  Perez then accepted his challenge, and will face Joel at the event "Armageddon".

5. "Ravishing" Richard Rondon retained his IWA Intercontinental title when he defeated Giant Manson.

6. Joe Bravo retained the IWA "Undisputed" Heavyweight title after defeating Bison Smith.  Since Savio Vega could not be ringside, there was interference from a person wearing a mask.  Towards the end of the match, the ref gets distracted by an argument between Bravo and Blitz, who had come to watch the match.  At this time the masked person comes in the ring but Bison was waiting for him.  Bison dominates for a few moments and takes the mask off, revealing to be, who else but Savio Vega, who then sprays a green mist into Bison's eyes.  Bravo takes advantage of this to get the win.

7. "The Faces of Fear" Spectro & Rainstein defeated "La Cruz del Diablo" Diabolico & Cruzz in an Extreme Rules Match

8. IWA Tag Team Title Match
"Los Dueños de la Malicia" Dennis & Noel retained the belts after defeating Chicano & Blitz with the help from "special guest referee" Joe Bravo.

- Last night IWA announced that their event "Armageddon" will take place next weekend in Bayamon (Saturday) and Isabela, PR (Sunday).  So far there is only 2 matches announced: Miguel Perez vs Chris Joel and Savio Vega vs Bison Smith.  (JMP Note: Do you think it is coincidence that the only 2 matches announced for the event are the matches that involve the owners of the company??...  Things that make you go hmmmm...)

- It has been heavily commented for the last couple of days that Black Rose was not happy with her situation at IWA.  She did not show up at last night's show, thus the change in the Women's title match.  Allegedly, the company knew in advance (a couple of days earlier) that she was not going to be there and still went ahead with the planned advertisement.

- During their TV show yesterday, WWC's president Victor Jovica mentioned that next Saturday he will have an announcement regarding the status of the Universal title.  (JMP Note: Please not another 6 month long tournament....)

- Wrestlevent Entertainment's brand new venture, Extreme Wrestling Organization (EWO), will hold their debut show tonight at the Arena Pier 10 in San Juan, PR.  Stay tuned to PWInsiderXtra.com, as we will be reporting on everything that takes place on the show.
