Sho XC Middleweight Division Fight
Erik Apple (9-1-0) vs. Matt Makowski (3-0-0)
Despite being a largely unknown fighter at this point, Erik Apple has already fought an impressive list of opponents like Josh Thomson and Brock Larson. Prior to suffering the only loss of his career to Brock Larson at World Extreme Cagefighting 26 in March 2007, Erik Apple was on a nine fight undefeated streak that lasted over three years. Erik Apple will be looking to put this fight on the ground, where he has secured five of nine career victories by submission. Matt Makowski last fought on Elite XC: Primetime in May 2008, where he defeated Nick Serra, brother of former UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Serra, by disqualification. A second quality victory in a row for Matt Makowski could put him in contention in the Sho XC Middleweight Division. Unlike Erik Apple, Matt Makowski will be looking to keep the fight on the feet, which he has attained a previous victory by knockout.
My Prediction: Erik Apple
Sho XC Middleweight Division Fight
Jaime “El Cucui” Jara (19-5-0) vs. Givanildo Santana (11-0-0)
This could become the breakout fight for Jaime Jara, who already has fights with Scott Smith, Anthony Ruiz, Rashad Evans, Bo Cantrell, Seth Kleinback and Carter Williams. Jaime Jara has also fought in other promotions like Gladiator Challenge, Sho XC, King Of The Cage and Palace Fighting Championships. Jaime Jara is a fighter known for finishing fights, with seventeen of his nineteen career victories ending by knockout and submission. Givanildo Santana is another fighter who is known for finishing his fights, with none of his eleven professional fights going past the first round. Early in his professional fights, Givanildo Santana won the X-Impact World Championships Tournament, defeating Jun Soo Lim, Edwin Aguilar, S Zambirek and M Noriki in one night.
My Prediction: Givanildo Santana
Sho XC Heavyweight Division Fight
Shane Del Rossario (4-0-0) vs. Carl Seumanutafa (4-0-0)
This fight could easily determine a future top contender in the Sho XC Heavyweight Division, with Shane Del Rossario and Carl Seumanutafa battling for the top spot. Shane Del Rossario is known as a finisher, with all four of his professional fights ending in the opening round. Shane Del Rossario will be looking to keep the fight on the feet, with three of four victories coming by knockout. Carl Seumanutafa is another fighter known four finishing fights, having achieved all four of his victories by knockouts. Before making his Sho XC debut at this event, Carl Seumanutafa competed in the Global Knockout and Elite XC promotions. This fight should be nothing short of a slugfest, considering that seven of eight tital victories by each fighter have come by knockout.
My Prediction: Carl Seumanutafa
Sho XC Lightweight Division Fight
David Douglas (3-1-0) vs. Malaipet Team Diamond (3-2-0)
David Douglas made his professional MMA debut against former World Extreme Cagefighting Featherweight contender Jeff Curran. Since the loss to Jeff Curran, David Douglas went on a three fight win streak with victories over Yusuke Ikenishi, Marlon Matias and William Jacobson. David Douglas is a fighter known for his knockout ability, with all three of his victories coming by knockout. Malapait Team Diamond is a veteran of the Sho XC promotion, having already fought Thomas Denny and Kaleo Kwan in his previous appearances. Malapait Team Diamond has achieved one of his career victories by knockout, the other two have come by way of decision. This could be a make or break fight for Malapait Team Diamond in Sho XC, because a loss would give him a losing record in the promotion.
My Prediction: David Douglas
Elite XC Bantamweight Title Decision Fight
Wilson Reis (5-0-0) vs. Abel Cullum (12-1-0)
Elite XC has been pushing Wilson Reis as the Elite XC Bantamweight Division golden boy since his debuted in the promotion in January 2008. In his time with Elite XC/Sho XC, Wilson Reis has defeated Zach Makovsky, Justin Robbins and Brian Caraway. Wilson Reis is a dominating ground and pound fighter who has earned three of his five professional victories by submission. Abel Cullum is a very underrated fighter who is currently riding an eleven fight win streak that has lasted over two years. Prior to coming to Elite XC, Abel Cullum fought in the King Of The Cage, Desert Extreme and Southwest Fury promotions. The only loss Abel Cullum ever suffered in his career was to Richard Montano in December 2005 for the Desert Extreme promotion. Like Wilson Reis, Abel Cullum will be looking to put the fight on the ground, where he has achieved seven victories by submission.
My Prediction: Wilson Reis
