NEWS
AAA is running a poll on their official site luchalibreaaa.com asking the fans
who they think would be the big surprise on Sunday’s TV taping in Puebla and the
four choices are pretty interesting. The choices are Olimpico, Rey Bucanero,
Shocker, & Tarzan Boy with Shocker currently in the lead with Tarzan/Bucanero in
a dead heat for 2nd and Olimpico in last place. This is a very interesting poll
but we’ll see how it turns out.
Dos Caras Jr. confirmed today finally that he would be signing with the WWE this
weekend and would soon wrestle his final matches in Mexico but it won’t be for
EMLL as he has left on bad terms with them that wasn’t his fault. Dos said that
EMLL basically didn’t care if he stayed with them or not and never actually came
to him after the rumors of the WWE contract talks started a while back. Dos said
that the relations between him & EMLL have deteriorated and the only reason why
he still worked with them over the past few weeks was because he honored his
contract like a professional. Dos said that EMLL is in bad shape right now as a
promotion with lots of discontent among the wrestlers and the fans have noticed
as well as they aren’t attending the Arena Mexico shows like they used to. Dos
was asked about the CMLL Heavyweight Title and he said that he would vacate it
because it is their title but he thought it was funny that they thought that he
would take their title to the WWE with him. Dos said that he is better than that
and that he would deliver it to them personally because they are the only ones
who could take it from him because their wrestlers couldn’t do it.
WWE Mexico President Bosco Attolini Pesqueira stated today that the WWE has
their eyes on many of the Mexican wrestling superstars now that they have better
television in the country and their own offices there. Bosco said that Rey
Misterio & Super Crazy are great assets to the company and with the potential
signing of Dos Caras Jr., their impact in Mexico will get bigger and bigger and
they will provide some of the perks that could entice more top talent in the
country to come aboard. Bosco said that now with their current television
situation in Mexico they can compete with any company in the country and that
the fans should choose what type of product they prefer the most but he does
concede that the local promotions have the advantage because they run more shows
there. Bosco said that Mexico has excellent wrestling rich with tradition but
now it’s time for the WWE to have their impact in the country, which would lead
to more activity there as well.
NWA Mexico President Blue Demon Jr. stated today that he feels very strong about
the NWA Mexico show being successful on Saturday as his people have put in the
work to market this show as good as any he has seen. Demon said that this job
has been arduous and that he has had to make changes in the card but it hasn’t
been anything really major and actually thinks that the current card is better
than the original. Demon said that NWA Mexico pretty much stands alone right now
but doesn’t rule out working with EMLL & AAA in the future but he thinks that
they have enough talent to run a good show due to the all around nature of the
talent as he has skilled technicians, high flyers, extreme fighters, and just
good all-around talent. Demon was asked about Hijo del Santo and said that he
would like to use him but wants him to be more of a special attraction. Demon
said that he is looking forward to his match with El Dandy because Dandy has
been running his mouth lately wanting to take his mask and that he wants to see
Dandy back up his words in the ring.
El Dandy said today that Blue Demon Jr. isn’t nearly as important as he thinks
he is and that he would expose him tomorrow night on the NWA Mexico show at
Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera in Mexico City. Dandy said that he is a master of
taking hair and masks and that he plans on cornering Demon to accept a caballera
contra mascara match then after he takes his mask he wants to take his
presidency of NWA Mexico but a mask of a legend is really more important.
