Hey everybody and welcome back to Zach's How To Guide. We're at Chapter 21 here, meaning time for my column to start heading out to the bars and enjoying itself! Last week if you all remember, or prolly forgot, I wrote a column about how to book Bonaduce-Young, the epic encounter. Readers were displeased with the idea and hoped the Philly crowd will tear Bonaduce up, and I'm pulling for just the same. But alright, now to the event that is being promoted almost as heavily as 12 Rounds [but not as heavily, nothing is promoted as much]...Wrestlemania! Gotta love this show no matter what, the PPV always delivers and is the moment where you feel proud to be a wrestling fan. So here are my predictions and how to make this the best show possible. Enjoy and send me that sweet feedback to zachlevine86@gmail.com. Thanks.
Match 1 - Money In The Bank
I've always thought that the person who debuts Wrestlemania every year is someone the WWE takes a lot of stock in. In the past this spot has gone to JBL, Jeff Hardy, Carlito, Rey Mysterio, and John Cena, all pretty popular guys. And I think we open the show this year with last year's MITB winner, CM Punk. Anyways I won't go through the whole match, but I expect Mark Henry to give a slam to Finlay off a ladder through another one, I see Kofi and Shelton flying every which way imaginable, and I have Mr. 305 Montel Vontavius Porter coming out on top as MITB winner.
Match 2 - JBL vs. Rey Mysterio
Well I wish they hadn't blown the match already on RAW, but here's how I see this match going down. I think beforehand we have Grisham interview JBL, where he says that this is his last match ever and he will retire as Intercontinental Champion. Does he win? I think he should drop it, but with JBL you never know, so lets give JBL the nod as he retires as champ, leading to a multi-brand battle royal at Backlash to determine the new champ.
Match 3 - Colons vs Miz and Morrison
Prediction 1 - Khali leads out the lumberjacks, because who is gonna convince him otherwise.
Prediction 2 - Although doubtful, I still wanna see R-Truth comes out through the crowd just for the comedy value of it.
Prediction 3 - The Bellas have been swerving the Colons. Whichever twin is with the Colons has been leading them on, they were spit on for heaven's sake! So I bet this leads to the Dirt Sheet Duo being the unified champs.
Match 4 - Jericho vs. Legends
I'm not liking this match at all, but I feel I'm in the majority there and that Jericho is planning on a sick match. Let's give him the W over Snuka and Piper, but mid-match with Steamboat, Flair and Rourke come to ringside, distracting Jericho and letting Steamboat have a Wrestlemania moment for the first time in 22 years.
Match 5 - Jeff Hardy vs Matt Hardy
Should be a solid match here. I say we get a solid looking slugfest, and Jeff Hardy takes the win. How so? Let's paint the picture of jeff giving Matt the mule kick off the side of the Wrestlemania stage, climbing something 25 feet in the air, and swantoning off onto his big brother for the win.
Match 6 - Big Show vs. Edge vs. Cena
Let me just make this clear right now...I want Vicki gone from the WWE by the end of the summer. I just think the acts getting tired and Smackdown needs a refresher. So that being said, I say the Rated R Superstar wins the match here. Cena gets Show up for the Attitude Adjuster, and Edge spears him while Show is on Cena's shoulders. Edge wins, and then post match he spears Vicki for what she did to him with Big Show, leading to a possible face turn for Edge.
Match 7 - 25 Diva Battle Royal
Love the concept for the match, even if we're gonna have some divas in it who have less than one match in their history [ahem Rosa and Tiffany] So the former divas get their own intros, the King goes ballistic like he usually does when he sees divas. Final 6 lets go Beth, Melina, Gail, Mickie, Sunny, and Trish. I say it comes down at the end to Trish and Beth, Santino comes down and as Beth turns around, Trish tosses her. Post match Beth kicks Santino low and leaves him lying in the ring. Then Stone Cold comes out and stuns him just for old times sake.
Match 8 - Undertaker vs. HBK
Awesome buildup, but no way that Taker loses here. Although let me call a couple of spots. HBK superkicks Taker right out of Old School, HBK tries to atomic drop him even though it looks horrible, and I think we get another spot like two years ago Rumble where Taker sits up as HBK kips up. Taker will be 17-0 post this match though.
Match 9 - Randy Orton vs. Triple H
I'm actually excited for this match, even though we've seen it many a time before. But I think we'll get a solid bout here. And this is a long time coming here, but I am predicting one more turn this night. Orton goes for the sledge, Shane grabs it away, and nails Triple H with it. I gotta believe that in a group with powerful kids, a McMahon is bound to join, and Shane has to have something to say about HHH and Steph. So I think we get Shane-O-Mac as the newest member of Legacy and the four members all holding up Orton's arms to end the show.
Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed. Stay tuned for next week......How To Book Wrestlemania 26!
