4/4/2009 NWA Anarchy TV Taping Report

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A crowd of around 180 fans came out for the last stop on the 2009 highway to hell as we anxiously await Hardcore Hell 2009 on April 18th. The card was finalized and what an event it's shaping up to be as we prepare to celebrate the rich history associated with the NWA Arena, NWA Anarchy and it's preceding affiliates.

"The Rev" & Shaun Tempers interrupt Greg Hunter's intro to the TV show by announcing another Hardcore Hell match, stating that Iceberg didn't take kindly to young punks getting main event matches without earning them, so newcomer Orion Bishop would be taking on "The No Pain Train" at Hardcore Hell, and Azrael would steamroll through Malachi. The Rev then began bragging about their master plan to betray Truitt Fields. Tempers thanked all the fans, he said, because without them cheering for him and believing in him, Truitt Fields never would've believed in him and he'd have never pulled it off. The Rev stated they fooled Truitt Fields, the wrestlers, the fans, and even NWA Anarchy head honcho Jerry Palmer.

Palmer interrupted their party and stated that a suspension is definitely in order, and he's contemplating banning Tempers & the Rev from the NWA for life after attempting to blind Truitt Fields with mace. The Rev responded by taunting Palmer about his honesty, and how it's his tragic flaw. He reminded Palmer that he'd already promised Tempers one more shot at the TV title a couple weeks ago. Palmer was bewildered that they'd still try and hold him to that after him agreeing under false pretenses, but stated that he was a man of his word, and that he'd keep that promise...but that's a promise of one match, and it will only happen when Truitt Fields is physically ready. Truitt Fields then came down the ramp helped by officials with bandages over his eyes. Tempers & Wilson taunted Fields and stated they'd love to take advantage of a blind man, so sign the match already. Fields ripped off the bandages, along with his shirt and The Rejects bailed. Fields reminded everyone that he served his country as U.S. marine and he's been trained to withstand any type of chemical agent known to man on the battlefield. He asked Tempers why? "I thought we were boys!!" exclaimed the World TV Champion. Fields begged Jerry not to ban Tempers, and begged him to keep his promise because at Hardcore Hell, in so many words, he was going to kick Shaun Tempers rosey red ass. Jerry Palmer stated that in addition, all Devil's Rejects past, present and future were barred from ringside and manager's license be d**ned, that included The Reverend.

1) The Rowdy Friends (Don Matthews, Jessco Blue and The Wild Bunch) defeated Aaron Lee, Antoine Jordan, Matt Mercer and Brandon Parker in around 3 minutes after Matthews hit the lariat.

- This match featured the first combined effort from Don Matthew's "Rowdy Friends". Matthews had stated that he had to recruit his own army to fight the Entourage and boy has he. The Wild Bunch of Billy Buck and Chris King who've proven they can hang with the toughest in NWA Anarchy, as well as "Hellbilly" Jessco Blue, the outrageous wildman from Applachia. The "Rowdy Friends" wiped the mat with these 4 newcomers in a bout that was met with incredible fan approval.

- Postmatch we found out from Don Matthews that he was notified just before the match that The Entourage will take on The Rowdy Friends in an 8 man tag at Hardcore Hell. "We'll have a pig in the ground, and some beer on ice and all my rowdy friends are coming to Hardcore Hell!!!" stated Matthews.

2) Mr. Rob Adonis defeated Chip Day in around 6 minutes with The Claw.

- Chip Day fought hard but try as he might he just couldn't take the massive "One Man Insurance Policy" Rob Adonis off his feet. The sheer power of Adonis was just too much for "Do or Die" Chip Day to overcome. One mistake too many found Day exactly where he didn't want to be....in the grip of the man with the most powerful tendon strength in all of wrestling and the master of the clawhold. Once the claw was applied Day had no hope of breaking it and Adonis put him out.

- An interview filmed in Jeremy Vain's personal gym with Greg Hunter aired with Vain explaining his history with Shadow Jackson going back to their training together and Vain laying out one more challenge for Shadow to face him at Hardcore Hell. Vain stated that he was always the best. From day one he was pegged to be a star, and Shadow Jackson was always a step behind him in wrestling school. He stated Shadow Jackson only received opportunities because he was friends with Jerry Palmer and because the fans loved him. Vain claimed he is and always will be the superior wrestler, calling Jackson nothing more than a glorified bar room brawler.

3) Anarchy Tag Team Champions: Talent & Money (JT Talent & Drew Pendleton) and The New Wave (Derrick Driver & Steven Walters) fought to a double DQ at around 10 minutes.

- These two teams have built quite a heated rivalry here in 2009 and have ultimately become arch enemies. New Wave cashed in their rematch clause here, and kept their cool going into this bout which had them a step ahead of the champions in the early going. Talent & Money gained an underhanded advantage and took control of the bout. Lot's of great pure wrestling in this match, even with T&M's dubious nature but as the tension built; those great wrestling holds went the way of the dodo. Walters somehow made it to Driver finally who cleaned house, and the match got out of control and was thrown out by the official. These two teams brawled all around the building until the locker-room cleared to separate the two teams.

It was announced that the two teams would be squaring off in a falls count anywhere Street Fight at Hardcore Hell for the titles.

- Brodie Ray Chase & "Hands Of Steel" Seth Delay were shown backstage talking about what a huge payday they'd get if Delay was able to wrest the Heavyweight Championship from Shadow Jackson tonight. They were interrupted by Talent & Money who complained about Chase & Delay not getting the job done that they'd paid for. Chase stated that their envelope was short. The tag team champions stated they had more important things to worry about, like defending their titles at Hardcore Hell and stormed off.

4) Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Shadow Jackson defeated Seth Delay w/ Brodie Chase via pinfall after the 1031 to retain the title in around 9 minutes.

- The Champ was "untouchable" in the opening moments of this contest. He bounced Delay around the ring like a pinball, clearly demonstrating his size and power advantage. The sneaky Delay, and even sneakier Brodie Ray Chase on the outside, was finally able to take Jackson off his feet by targeting his bad ankle but even fighting from the ground up, Jackson never gave up. With Chase distracting the official, Delay had Jackson right where he wanted him and dropped the "People's Champ" with the brass knux. 1, 2....KICKOUT? Delay may have forgotten that Jackson has the self proclaimed hardest head in wrestling and while the knux may be enough to knock out most men, Shadow Jackson isn't most men. What Delay hoped would be the death blow that clinched him the title just woke up an angry sleeping giant in Jackson. Shadowmania ran wild, and Jackson polished off Seth Delay with the 1031.

Postmatch, Jackson accepted Vain's challenge for Hardcore Hell.

5) Alan Funk pinned Adrian Hawkins with a sunset flip after countering the Lygerbomb in around 6 minutes.

- Adrian Hawkins came into this match a man possessed, and you can really see the frustration and anger building in him after his recent losing streak. He went into this standing toe to toe in a brutal chop exchange with the veteran Alan Funk. Eventually it was Hawkins lack of composure and mounting frustration that caused him yet another loss as Funk countered the Lygerbomb with a sunset flip and Hawkins losing streak continues.

6) Slim J featured a KO or Tapout Exhibition with his opponent being Taco Delgado. He demonstrated various holds and the rules of the upcoming bout at Hardcore Hell vs. Todd Sexton

The Entourage spoiled Taco's fun by summoning him mid exhibition.

Todd Sexton had words for Slim J from the Wrestlevision, where he held his own exhibition with Technician Tyler Smith. Again, Slim J and Sexton will face off in NWA Anarchy's first ever ko or tapout match at Hardcore Hell.

7) The Technicians defeated TK Cross & Bo Newsome in around 8 minutes with The Regulator.

- This was a bout featuring two men trained by Todd Sexton taking on two men trained by Slim J. The Technicians are definitely the more experienced tag team and really could be a threat to the tag titles on any given night. Newsome and Cross are both entering their sophomore years here at NWA Anarchy and seem to have great potential as a tag team as they continued to show great chemistry. In the end it was the experience of the Technicians that won out as they pinned TK Cross after hitting The Regulator.

Jeff G. Bailey approached The Rev backstage to gather reassurance about their alliance. The Rev assured him he had nothing to worry about.

8) NWA National Champion Phil Shatter, Kimo, Iceberg & Young Lion's Champion Azrael defeated Malachi, Ace Rockwell, Orion Bishop & Mikal Judas after Shatter speared Malachi for the pinfall in around 17 minutes.

- The story of this match was Mikal Judas vs. Kimo. Before the bell could even ring both teams had to hold Kimo and Judas back while they sorted out who'd start the match. Judas ordered each member of his team out of the ring, and Team Elite/Rejects each seemed to be peeling off for Kimo to start but Azrael made a break for it and attacked Judas which caused the opening bell, so Judas and Azrael start it out. This was one hard hitting bout that featured tons of intensity going into Hardcore Hell. We were treated to a nice preview of each of the featured bouts here. Judas tried the entire bout to get his hands on Kimo but Bailey & The Rev had great fun playing mind games with him and denying him that opportunity. Kimo appeared to be chomping at the bit for a fight but Bailey simply wouldn't release him when Judas was legal. Iceberg & Bishop had a pretty ferocious exchange, as did Azrael and Malachi. Ace Rockwell was knocked a bit loopy by his Hardcore Hell opponent Phil Shatter, which doesn't bode well for Ace going into one of the biggest matches of his career. He did finally make the tag to Judas who destroyed everyone, but again Bailey wouldn't let Kimo at him. Malachi and Phil Shatter were tagged in during the confusion and Shatter was able to put away the Young Lion's challenger with the spear. Bailey took Kimo & Shatter and left one way and Rev, Berg, Azrael & Skirra Corvus went the other. The fan favorites grabbed the high ground and checked on Ace Rockwell who was still feeling the effects of a devastating head to head collision with Phil Shatter.

It was announced that Mikal Judas vs. Kimo 1 on 1 for the first time in Anarchy would be the final bout added to the Hardcore Hell 2009 card. And once again we'll run down that card for you:

NWA Anarchy TV Report by Ca$hFlowX
Episode 157
February 16, 2009

WRESTLING: (n.) ’res-ling A sport of contest in which two individuals face off in unarmed combat.
ANARCHY: (n.) an-ar-key (1) A state of lawlessness due to absence of authority. (2) A complete lack of order.
What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!

- Welcome to NWA Anarchy, this is PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING~! Season's Beatings '08 has concluded and available from www.nwaanarchy.net for your purchase and viewing pleasure.

1. Hayden Young pinned "Code Pink" Adrian Hawkins.

2. The Wild Bunch ("Brokeback" Billy Buck & Chris King) defeated the Technicians (Tyler Smith & Bob E Moore) in a Texas tornado match.
You know that was a brutal Samoan drop on the ramp on Smith by King. And you have to believe this loss doesn't sit too well with Todd Sexton.

- We head to the back where Melissa Coates allegedly received a note from NWA Anarchy Owner Jerry Palmer. As she stands backstage waiting for Palmer, a pink bucket of water is dumped on her. Coates blames Palmer for her mishap and vows revenge.

3. "The Great American Scream Machine" Brodie Ray Chase pinned Jerry Palmer.
Palmer heads out to ringside without Coates. After the bell rings, Coates heads to ringside and verbally assaults Palmer. After returning to the ring, Coates nails Palmer and Chase follows up with the DDT for the victory. Palmer screams at the referee while Chase poses victoriously on the entrance ramp.

4. The New Wave (Derrick Driver & Steven Walters) defeated Talent & Money (JT Talent & Andrew Pendleton III) and the Dynamic Duo ("Numero Uno" Chad Parham & "Hands of Steal" Seth Delay) and "Untouchable" Jeremy Vain & "the One Man Insurance Policy" Mr. Rob Adonis in a ladder match to retain the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Titles.
Buy the DVD to watch some innovative ladder spots. Great ending.

- "The Reverend" Dan Wilson, Iceberg, Azreal, and the Staff of Righteousness shall gain their retribution on Shaun Tempers as he contemplates what his mother thinks of all the heinous acts he committed as a Reject. Wilson promises to deliver a Compound Christmas to all opponents.

5. "Son of Satan" Azreal w/Dan "the Dragon" Wilson & the Staff of Righteousness pinned Slim J to become the NWA Anarchy Young Lion's Title.
If ending up on the receiving end of the Ted Bundy and throat slit piledriver wasn't enough, Slim has to deal with a vindictive Todd Sexton. This man always puts his career on the line against Mikael Judas and somehow always ends back up on TV. He just never quits. He heads out, nails Slim J from behind, and assaults him in mid ring. Even Johnson is pissed that the Bald Head Germ hasn't stayed retired.

6. "0% Body Fat" Truitt Fields wrestled "Sugar" Shaun Tempers to a 10 minute draw to retain the NWA Anarchy TV Title.
This rematch resulted two weeks ago after Tempers saved Fields from the Devil's Rejects and invoked his "rematch clause." Johnson refers to Fields' opponents as a bunch of tomato cans. That notion backfires when Hunter mentions the name Azreal. Tempers blows out his knee on a leapfrog gone awry. Fields offers a rematch at a later date, but Tempers refuses to quit. Tempers escapes the Killing Fields and hoists Fields up. Things go awry for Tempers and Fields apologizes as he works over his injured knee. Johnson says he would rip off Tempers' knee and beat him with it; I second that notion. Mortal Kombat still rules. After commercial, Johnson says Fields should ignore the fans because they carry head lice and multiple venereal diseases. Tempers mounts a combeack and hits the Temperpedic across his bad knee as the Almighty Reverend observes his former colleague. About a minute later, the time limit expires. Tempers grabs the title and places it on Fields' shoulder much to Wilson's disgust. Afterwards, Tempers grabs the mike and congratulates Fields as champion. They shake hands much to Johnson's dismay and belching.

- Jeff G. Bailey is accompanied by Kimo and he delivers another 5 star promo. He recounts Ace Rockwell's predicaments with Kimo and the aftermath of those battles including referees vomiting blood. Bailey predicts it will be a "precise clinical destruction" and "dissection" on Rockwell. In a counterpoint interview, Ace Rockwell promises that Kimo will get beat tonight.

7. "The 7 Figured Deal" Ace Rockwell defeated "the Butcher of Pyongyang" Kimo w/"Agent/Attorney" Jeff. G. Bailey by escape in cage match.
Rockwell escapes the cage after Kimo catapults him. Awesome finish. Rockwell gains the victory and Kimo still looks virtually indestructible.

8. Shadow Jackson defeated "the Altar of Human Mutilation" & "Professional Wrestling's Only Serial Killer" Iceberg w/"Dragon" Dan Wilson & the Staff of Righteousness and the "Priest of Punishment" Mikael Judas to capture the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title.
Lots of brutal three way action to end this contest. How about Iceberg landing the Ground Xero splash after Judas makes the cover on Shadow after delivering the El Crucifijo? This ends with Iceberg bouncing Judas to the floor and Jackson nailing the 10-31 spinebuster.

- Greg Hunter, Jerry Palmer and the technico contingent congratulate the new champion for becoming the king of NWA Anarchy. Shadow emphasizes the letters N-W-A. We fade to black with a "Shadow Mania" chant.

NWA CHARLOTTE LIVE EVENT 4-11-09

By Larry Goodman

NWA Charlotte returned to action at the NWA Coliseum with “Final Destination” – a night that saw Truitt Fields crowned as the first NWA (Charlotte) United States Champion and the reigns of the company turned over to special guest, Jim Cornette for the evening.

It was a show where the positives outweighed the negatives to make for an overall entertaining, if very lengthy (3:15 running time), evening. Cornette had a lot to do with that. He was out a lot. It would have been too much for anybody else, but he’s so entertaining that it worked, and all of the talent that got to do segment with him was better for the rub. The negatives were once again mostly in the booking, but if anybody could lend credibility to the nonsense that sometimes passes for booking in NWA Charlotte, it would be Cornette. A major plus was the energy put into setting up matches for the return date.

Attendance was 450. Not bad considering that the Highspots show with Ric Flair and Roddy Piper had drawn a paltry 200 Friday night before in Charlotte at the Grady Cole Center.

Eddie Rich introduced the grand poobah of NWA Charlotte, JD Costello. He called Lodi into the ring from the announcer’s table to take care of unfinished business. Costello then introduced the man himself Jim Cornette. His entrance got a bigger pop than any of the legends that have appeared for NWA Charlotte. Cornette kissed the hand of long time Charlotte fan Peggy Lathan.

As his first order of business, Cornette addressed Lodi about his situation with Raven. Cornette said he had a Fed Ex message from Raven. The gist of it was Lodi had let him down for the last time (by losing in his stead on March 28 thus knocking Raven out of contention for the US title). As punishment, Lodi would have a special match tonight. However, Raven’s message left off the name of his opponent. Cornette advised Lodi that he wouldn’t trust Raven if they were cremated together. Cornette thanked the fans for keeping the tradition of Charlotte wrestling alive.

(1) American Gangsters (Frank & Nicky) beat Team Ego (Abel Adams & Will Snapp) and New Wave (Steven Walters & Derrick Driver) in 8:45

Gangsters got a ton of heat. New Wave used quick tags and a plethora of double teams on Adams. Nicky tagged himself in at the 4 minute mark. Gangsters destroyed Driver. A segment of the crowd was into their ultra stiff looking offense. Nicky kept pulling Driver up to prevent the pin. Adams said Team Ego wanted no part of Gangster’s thuggery and walked out. New Wave hit a devastating double chestcracker on Frank, who rolled out of the ring without even allowing a pin attempt. Walters went for a flip dive. Nicky made the catch and tossed Walters back in over the top rope like he was nothing. Frank speared the bejeezus out of Driver for the pin. Gangsters are being booked like the Road Warriors. They ain’t selling nothin’ for nobody. I guess the idea was present Team Ego as fair-minded tough guys capable of handling Gangsters. Whatever. The only sure thing is New Wave were killed dead.

Cornette ordered security to intervene to save New Wave from total decimation. Gangsters wasted the first guy and none of the others made a move. Cornette said they were gutless. Finally, the one big security guy got in the ring and Gangsters backed off. Cornette said if Gangsters wanted to bully somebody, they should bully him because he controlled their paychecks. Costello was getting all red in the face. Cornette warned Costello to watch his blood pressure.

NWA National Champion Phil Shatter did prematch mic work. With Shatter, it’s not so much what he says, but the way he says it that makes him come across as a good talker. Shatter said he, Ryan O’Reilly and Mikael Judas were there to say otherwise about Cornette’s edicts. Cornette called them a cancer. In so many words, he said they were selfish pricks. Cornette said it made sense for Costello to protect his company, and he was there to keep an eye on them. Shatter got in Corny’s face. Cornette said he wasn’t there to get physical with anyone. Shatter told Cornette he wasn’t taking over without a fight.

(2) Phil Shatter beat Michael Youngblood in 6:38

After an early flurry from Youngblood, Shatter took a leisurely time out. Youngblood’s offense was heavy on the striking with lots of Indian knife edge chops. Shatter blocked a sunset flip and nailed Youngblood with a leg drop to take over. Shatter busted out the high impact stuff with Youngblood trying to use maneuverability to stay out of harm’s way. Shatter missed a flying elbow drop, and Youngblood made the full-fledged comeback. Youngblood mounted the ropes to rain down the 10 punches of doom. Shatter brought Youngblood off the ropes with a variant of his PTSD powerbomb for the pin.

Lodi interviewed Truitt Fields about what happened two week ago that prevented him from making the show. Fields said that when he stopped for gas, somebody slashed his tires and attacked him. The next thing he knew, he was in Gwinnett Medical Center with IV in his arm. Fields said he knew it was O’Reilly’s doing but he forgot to finish the job. Out came O’Reilly. He asked Fields how his head was, then said he wanted to apologize. “I’m sorry…sorry I didn’t do it sooner.” With that, O’Reilly kicked Fields in the shoulder to leave him laying. Fields must be a very trusting soul to believe for one second that O’Reilly came out to make amends - admirable but dumb.

(3) Dylan Kage & Caleb Konley beat Zach Salvation & Josh Magnum (15+ minutes)

The usual craziness when this group gets together, but the internal logic held up since it was, in essence, a four way. Crowd was quiet early but picked up bigtime as the match unfolded. Kage and Salvation kept their feud going with an exchange of sucker punches. Salvation and Magnum pancaked Kage with a something akin to a double team Styles Clash. They argued about the pin, and played it for comedy, pausing to clothesline Kage over the top and play matador for Konley, who took a brutal bump on the floor. Salvation and Magnum both hit spectacular dives. Konley was gutting it out. Back inside, Magnum leveled Salvation when Kage ducked a lariat. Kage gutbustered Magnum and the rudos worked on his ribs. Magnum fought off a superplex and hit a flying bodypress, but Kage rolled through for a near fall. Costello made a two minutes to go call. The dreaded collision of lariats ensued. Salvation cleaned house. Another technico miscue saw Magnum superkick Salvation. Kage and Konley hit a flapjack on Magnum. The bell rang at 15:13. Enter American Gangsters to beat up everybody. Frank blocked a chairshot from Magnum with one hand, like Superman with dreads. Cornette suspended Gangsters for 30 days without pay. They made a big tadoo over getting Gangsters out of there. After all that, Kage hit the Kevork Kick to pin Salvation. Very strange. Gangsters missed their cue or something. Well-timed or not, my question is why? They're treating all of their hot babyface prospects like dirt.

Cornette introduced an injured Ricky Steamboat Jr. Cornette spread the ropes for Steamboat’s entrance into the ring. Cornette explained that Steamboat had 14 stitches in his arm from a match the previous night. Therefore, he did not have medical clearance to wrestle. Steamboat said he would be ready to wrestle on the April 25 show. Vordell Walker came out and said a few stitches wouldn’t stop him from wrestling “but you’re not the man I am.” Cornette asked Walker if wanted to face Steamboat in two weeks. Walker said he would end Steamboat’s fledgling career.

(4) Damian Wayne beat Vordell Walker in 5:36

Another one of NWA Charlotte’s unconventional booking concepts - beat the guy you just finished setting up as a badass challenger at the next show. Walker attacked Wayne before the bell. Walker dominated. He hit an explosive vertical suplex. Fans weren't into Wayne. He looked rusty and outclassed athletically. It didn’t help that he botched a ropes move so badly fans busted out laughing. Wayne redeemed himself with a top rope elbow drop for a near fall. Walker hit a running double knee that liked to have crushed Wayne’s sternum and followed with a Tiger Driver for a near fall. Wayne answered with a german suplex. Walker speared the post and Wayne caught him with a small package.

(5) Kimo (with Attorney Jeff G. Bailey) beat Eric Adams via submission in 2:32

If this was the 80s, instead of a crappy jobber like Adams, a guy like Kimo would be fed Rocky King or one of the Mulkeys, guys that understood the role and took pride in doing it well. Kimo locked in the Information Extractor. Adams tapped right away, but that wasn't enough to suit Bailey. Security hit the ring. Kimo the first two guys a double judo throw and chopped the third guy dead- cool stuff and much better than the match. He did eventually obey Cornette's order to release the hold.

Cornette said being that Bailey was a person with no compassion for his fellow man, he had another opponent for Kimo. Someone he couldn’t take advantage of. Timber came out to a huge pop.

(6) Kimo (with Bailey) and Timber were both counted out at 2:40

This was out of control. Neither man was going down. Neither man was giving an inch. They did the Frye/Takayama exchange. The action spilled to the floor, through the seating area, and back to the concession stand. Timber bashed Kimo with a full can of Coke. Timber fired a trash barrel at Bailey. Dude wasn't playing. Bailey went ducking for cover. Timber said it was just the beginning. Cornette made the rematch for April 25. This segment got over great. Crowd was loving Timber.

(7) Reid Flair & David Flair & Brad Anderson beat Jeff Lewis & CW Anderson & Masked Superstar in 12:58

I expected Reid to be green and he was. What I didn’t expect was his less than stellar physical conditioning. David has filled out and then some, but he does come across like a veteran guy. I liked his wrestling . Match opened with Lewis tattooing Reid, who took an awkwardly timed bump. Lewis taunted Reid. He went into his bombastic bow, and Reid caught him with an uppercut. Reid throws a solid chop in the Flair tradition. David and Reid teamed up for a double vertical suplex. CW took two rounds of punches in the babyface corner and fell on his face. Funny stuff. CW hooked the ropes to block Brad’s Russian legsweep. Reid made a blind tag and Lewis raked his eyes to start the heat. Reid takes the same bump no matter what the blow. Superstar did his trademark lariat. Superstar also tossed a chair at Reid on the outside. Reid grazed CW with a lariat and hot-tagged David. Match broke down to six way action, and it was far from smooth. Lewis gave Reid a low blow. CW by accident superkicked Lewis. CW then spinebustered Brad, while Reid covered Lewis. Tommy Young counted Brad’s shoulder’s down. Second referee Tim Smith counted three on Lewis. The refs argued. Confusion reigned. Cornette ruled that Reid’s pin counted. Costello grabbed Lewis’ Heritage Championship belt and awarded it to Reid. Cornette raised Costello’s hand. Lewis spit on CW and walked off.

Match had its moments both good and bad. The story was way better than the action.

(8) Mikael Judas beat Lodi in 14:21

Lodi’s entrance, where he goes all over the building holding up signs, was way over with the fans. It’s like Charlotte’s version of the hokey routine “Boogie Woogie Boy” Gary Valiant does in Nashville. Cornette informed Lodi that he had a text message from Raven and would inform him of his fate based on the outcome of the match. Lodi got the jump on Judas during his grand entrance. A huge Lodi chant ensued. Lodi was giving it everything he had. A stinging chop drove Judas to his knees. Inside the ring, Lodi missed a guillotine leg drop. Judas took over. Things were looking grim for Lodi, but he ducked a Yakuza kick and Judas got all hung up in the ropes. Lodi hit a swinging neckbreaker for a one count only. Judas caught Lodi coming off the ropes with a fallaway slam. Judas punished Lodi’s back with a surfboard. Judas brought a chair in, but referee Josh Cash took it away. Lodi fought off a powerbomb and the momentum sent Judas through the ropes – a hell of an athletic bump for a guy that stands 6-7. Judas barely beat the 10 count. Lodi scored a trio of near falls, the last one with an Evenflo DDT that had the crowd believing. Judas hit a powerbomb into the turnbuckles, but Lodi managed to kick out. Lodi slipped away from a chokeslam and hit another Evenflo, but Judas got a shoulder up at 2.9. Lodi tried to come off the ropes using the chair. Cash was ready to DQ him if it connected. It didn’t. Chokebreaker by Judas and it was over. The pin got a pop from the fans that are into cool heels. Good match, but with all the near falls and such, seems like it should have been placed right before intermission. In this spot, it overshadowed the title match.

Cornette said since Lodi lost, he was honoring Raven’s request for a Clockwork House of Fun Match against him on April 25. Cornette cut an awesome promo here. He said Lodi lost because Raven was in his head, where he had been for the last 10 years. Cornette said Lodi needed to listen the fans because they were behind him. “I’m giving Raven what he wants because it’s the best thing for you.” Cornette said it would be the worst hell Lodi had ever known. “The choice is yours. Be your own man.”

(9) Truitt Fields beat Ryan O’Reilly in 7:05 to become the first NWA Charlotte Champion

O’Reilly’s two-tone Wolfman beard is something else. Definitely adds to the aura of evilness. Fields came out with his shoulder bandaged and selling it big. Not great heat. It was late and the crowd was somewhat spent after the last match. Fields attacked with his one good arm. O’Reilly knocked him off the apron with a clubbing blow. They traded ringside. O’Reilly sent Field’s bum shoulder crashing into the ringsteps. O’Reilly ripped the bandages off and tore into Fields’ shoulder. BIG high boot by O’Reilly for a near fall. Fields hit the Killing Fields out of nowhere. Both men up at the count of nine. O’Reilly cut off Fields’ comeback with a Saito suplex and shoulder shots into the post. O’Reilly made a mad charge into the corner, and Fields went up and over with a sunset flip (called a Gibson roll in the old days) to win the title. They did a big postmatch deal with kids in the ring celebrating with Fields.

NOTES: The return date is April 25 with Lodi vs. Raven, Timber vs. Kimo, and Steamboat Jr. vs. Walker already announced…NWA Executive Director Bob Trobich was in attendance. He said there definite plans to tape NWA Showcase in Charlotte either in late May or June…NWA Showcase will tape some matches at a show in Tyler, Texas on May 2 featuring Blue Demon defending the NWA World Heavyweight Title against Super Crazy…Lewis was out doing commentary with Tim Dixon during the second half of the show.

ALTERNATE REPORT BY JD COSTELLO, NWA CHARLOTTE PROMOTER

Before a packed house of 800+, our largest attendance to date, JD Costello gave Jim Cornette 100% control of NWA Charlotte.

1. American Gangsters vs. Team Ego vs. New Wave. Team Ego left match when American Gangsters continuously refused to pin Derrick Driver of New Wave. Jim Cornette stopped match and ordered American Gangsters out of the building. No Contest

2. NWA National Champion Phill Shatter verbally assaulted Jim Cornette. Cornette responded with “Since we have Steamboats, Andersons and Flairs here tonight, we might as well have Youngbloods and called out Michael Youngblood to take on Shatter. Winner-Shatter

3. Cruiserweight Tag Team Match with special stipulation: Whoever wins will get 5 minutes to sit out the Cruiserweight Battle Royal TLC Match for the NWA Charlotte Cruiserweight Championship on April 25.  Josh Magnum & Zack Salvation vs. Dylan Kage & Caleb Konley. Winner: Dylan Kage

American Gangsters entered from back of building to lay out the cruiserweights. Cornette suspended them from any NWA in North America for 30 days.

Cornette interviewed Ricky Steamboat, Jr. Steamboat said that he was not cleared to wrestle after the arm injury the night before. 5 stitches inside the wound and 8 stitches outside. But he did say he would be back on April 25 to take on a competitor. Vordell Walker interrupted and told Steamboat that he was scared to wrestle him.

4. Cornette brought out former NWA North American Champion Damien Wayne to wrestle Walker. Winner: Damien Wayne

5. Kimo with manager Jeff G. Bailey easily defeated Eric Adams. Cornette told the monster it was time for a real challenger and brought out Timber. Match spilled outside the ring for a double countout. Timber set the stage for a followup match on April 25.

6. David Flair & Reid Flair & Brad Anderson vs. NWA Mid Atlantic Heritage Champion Jeff Lewis & CW Anderson & Masked Superstar Bill Eadie. At first it appeared to be a double pin: CW Anderson pinned Brad Anderson and Reid Flair pinned Jeff Lewis. After a referee’s confrontation between Senior Referee

Tommy Young and his son Referee Tim, Reid Flair was declared the winner. JD Costello stripped Jeff Lewis of his belt and award Reid Flair the new NWA Mid Atlantic Heritage Champion to be Reid’s first career belt win.

7. Earlier in the night Lodi received notice that Raven was irate that he lost his position in quest of the NWA United States Championship, because Lodi, who was substituting for Raven last week, lost his preliminary match. He told Lodi that, as punishment, he must wrestle a mystery opponent tonight: Michael Judas, and if he lost, he would have to face Lodi on April 25. Winner: Michael Judas. Now Lodi must face Raven for the first time ever in wrestling history in a Raven’s rules Clockwork Orange House of Fun Match on April 25.

8. NWA United States Heavyweight Championship match: Truitt Fields, who had been injured earlier in the night by Roughhouse Ryan O’Rielly, defeated O’Rielly to become the first ever NWA Charlotte United States Heavyweight Championship. The crowd went crazy with streamers and confetti as fans stormed the ring to congratulate their new champion!

Huge show for April 25. Returning are Ricky Steamboat, Jr, Reid and David Flair, plus Raven and ALSO the wrestling son of yet another NWA Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling Superstar! You will not believe who this one is!

Thank you,

JD Costello

President & CEO

Fresh off a very exciting March show in Egg Harbor Township, NJ that saw NWA/F1 Heavyweight Champion Stevie Richards retain his title in a grueling match with Danny Gimondo and White Lotus, Force One will return to the Rollway Skating Rink in Hammonton, NJ on Saturday, April 18th.

In the main event, Richards will square off against former F1 Heavyweight Champion and former WWE stablemate Danny Doring. Doring held the belt for an extended time in F1, and still carries a grudge that his title was stripped several months ago by Commissioner Tommy Cairo. Even though he won the belt back, he still feels the need to show the fans that he was a better champion than current champ Richards.

Judas Young had the girls from the Shore Points Roller League in his corner at the last show, and it appeared to give him an edge, as he won his match to become the number one contender for the NWA/Force One Iron League Title. One girl in particular attracted Judas' interest, and it's likely that she will be with him again on April 18th when he faces current Iron League Champion "The Midnight Idol" Nicky Benz. Benz took the belt at the last show from Diego DeMarco (with help from new found friend Johnny Calzone). It will be interesting to see if Calzone will be around to give Benz an advantage as he defends the title. Stipulations have yet to be announced for this match, so it could preclude Calzone from being at ringside.

Ryu Lee regained his Junior Heavyweight Title in a 5 man gauntlet match in March. NWA/F1 has ordered Lee to defend his belt against the very popular member of the Latin Cliq, Chiki Cortes. Cortes & Lee have faced each other many times when they were parts of different tag teams. They have never met in a singles match, so this one is going to be one to watch!!!

In a special challenge tag match, the team of Diego DeMarco & RV1 (with Jimmy Clydesdale) will turn their attention to two guys who have been a thorn in their sides of late, Johnny Calzone (who cost Diego his Iron League Title in March), and "The Loudmouth of Perfection" Kevin Cunningham, who seems to have a problem with everyone.

Commissioner Cairo, in an effort to make things in NWA/F1 even more interesting, has ordered a "Title Insurance" match for the 18th. The three contenders have all recently lost matches & titles due to circumstances "beyond their control". That night, former #1 contender Danny Gimondo will enter the ring to face former Iron League Champion Patch (w/Millionaire Ted Jr.), and Hammonton resident Razor Rivera, who became the Junior Heavyweight Champion in Barnegat, NJ in February, only to lose it the same evening due to a technicality (he's not a Jr. Heavyweight). They will all have an opportunity to move to the next level, as the winner will be able to challenge for any title at any time.

Millionaire Ted Jr.'s empire continues to grow, and he will be bringing his tag team, The Repeat Offenders to the ring that night to face the team of former F1 Heavyweight Champions Breaker Morant and White Lotus. The two haven't been exactly getting along at the past few shows, but will need to pull it together if they have any chance of defeating Crazy Ivan and Pete Nixon.

One of the fan favorites, "The Hybrid" Josh Adams, who keeps improving with every match he works, will have his hands full with the Hammonton debut of "The Gravedigger" Anthony Graves. While the sight of the eerie Graves may be enough to scare away most, Adams will also have to contend with the power moves of this emotionless character.

Millionaire Ted Jr. will pit his two "enforcers", Jason Gotti and Bear Borselli, against 2 guys who have issues with not only the Million Dollar Stable, but the man who runs it. The other part of the Latin Cliq, Panther, teams up with the man who was part of the stable at one time, Luscious La Ron. Both guys feel like they have something to show the fans, but Ted's team seems to have other plans for this match.

Also appearing that evening, Angel, John Solo, Bruce Alexander, referees Spanky 123 - Mike Walker - and NWA senior referee Fred Richards, EJ, Andy J, The Girls of the Shore Points Roller League, Commissioner Tommy Cairo, and the staff & students of NWA/Force One Pro Wrestling.

Doors open at 7pm, with a 7:30 pm bell time. Tickets are only $12 and are available in advance at the Roll Way Skating Rink, 131 South 2nd Road, Hammonton, NJ 08037, or by calling (609) 561-8061. Tickets are also available via NWA/Force One by calling (732)604-9927.
