THIS WEEK IN WRESTLING

Hey hey everybody. Welcome back to this week in wrestling. Can you remember a busier week in the industry that didn't revolve around Wrestlemania? Let's get to the news...
Goodbye Samoan Bulldozer
1. Well that was definitely surprising. Umaga came back leaner and meaner than ever, had a new outlook for his character, and was incredibly agile for a big boy. Would have loved to see him feud with The Undertaker, so this is a shame. Several points come to mind here however. First and most obvious, I'd love to see him in TNA. I always thought Umaga went to the WWE as a answer for TNA's Samoa Joe, so either a match between the two or a joint venture in the Nation of Violence would be awesome to see. Second, I'm surprised how honest the WWE was in their release statement. Sure he didn't want all that information out there. And third, and this may sound kinda weird, but I was hoping Umaga had a Tazz like move eventually to the color commentary position. Obviously not for many years, but I'm just saying I think it'd be interesting to hear him strip away the savage gimmick and give the commentary booth a shot.
One Final Excuse Me
2. And how about that release as well? Vickie says I quit, then I turn to PWInsider and find out it was for real. Wow. I'll be honest, not that big a fan of her at the start, but she def won me over. Could I have done without the nude pictures? Absolutely. But best of luck in her future endeavors as well. Over/Under on months that Chavo is still employed btw?
The Animal Gets Put Down
3. Very interesting week for Batista. So he gets injured, wins the belt, loses it, gets surgery, and now tons and tons of rumors about the reasoning for this. Personally I gotta believe he was really injured. Last year when Jeff Hardy was groomed for Money In The Bank and he failed the wellness policy, they announced it. I would believe they'd announce Batista's if it did occur. I'm just uber confused as to why he won the belt, only to lose it 24 hours later. To be honest frankly, I'm done with Batista. Think the WWE should move on from him and focus on some new stars.
Beginning Of A Heel Punk?
4. Gonna pull a Barry Horowitz and pat myself on the back for a second. I went 7 1/2 out of 9 on my Extreme Rules Predictions. I say half because I said Punk over Edge rather than Punk over Hardy. But kudos to Punk, I think he's the first person to be a solo heavyweight champ on ECW, RAW, and Smackdown. Here's my question however, we turn him heel and who's left as a face on Smackdown? Hardy's still up in the air and Mysterio is either hurt/may leave as well. Could it be that my high hopes for an Edge-Punk feud where the roles of heel/face are reversed? Very interesting summer coming up here, stay tuned...
Is Rey-Rey Leaving?
5. Other rumors persist that Mr. Mysterio may have also handed in his notice. I would hope not. He's hugely over with the fans and he has an amazing feud going on with Jericho. Has Rey lost a step in recent years? Yea, but he's still a great hand. I'm hopeful he sticks around for a while longer and puts over some younger talent.
Three For All Monday
6. Interesting RAW coming up this week with the three champs defended. In my opinion though, woulda had all three matches be triple threats. Edge-Hardy-Punk, Christian-Swagger-Dreamer, and HHH-Orton-MVP with Cena and Show having the blowoff match to their feud as another match on the show.
No Commercial RAW
7. Wow, be very interested to see how two weeks from now on RAW goes. So not a single commercial will be shown? I'm for more action, but if this means that the WWE is gonna get a massive product placement in the middle of their ring, cough TNA cough, then I don't mind a few bathroom break commercials haha.
A Wellness Violation Storm Brewing?
8. Last big rumor of the week is that a huge list of wellness violations will be announced soon. Gonna be embarrassing for those who're on the list, so I'm quite intrigued here. I mean if it ends up just being Yang and Ortiz, so be it. But still, very interesting days coming up here.
Matt Morgan's Big Push
9. Here is what I'm talking about. The guy has little charisma yes. But put him in a Slammiversary match with the Stinger can only bring good things. He is an insane athlete, probably one of the biggest misses the WWE made. I am very excited for this match and to see if Sting elevates him on his retirement tour from TNA.
Joey Styles Tweets
10. Ha and this has been a big subject this week too. I'm new to twitter myself, and I subscribed to Joey just because I wanted WWE scoops. Yikes, did not subscribe for some Obama bashing. I'm glad the PWInsider folks pointed this situation out as well. I do commend Borash for always having something interesting to say, and I am a new Jericho subscriber, as he is a hell of an entertainer as well.
