Andddd welcome back everyone to This Week In Wrestling. I am your party host, well me and Chris Jericho, but still. Let's get to this week in wrestling shall we?
New Raw Owner
1. Donald Trump is back. Hooray? I really wished that the WWE went with Flair as the new GM, rather than push Trump down our throats one more time. Does anyone actually like the guy? Like was anyone clamoring for his return? With any luck, the angle will die down quickly and Flair will be GM and everything will be alright on RAW. Til then, just one more reason why RAW has been crummy lately. Oh and ironic that both participants in the battle of the billionaires are back on RAW, while Umaga and Lashley are nowhere to be found.
A Rematch I Want To See
2. Can we have a Morrison-Edge match at the Bash? Sick match on Smackdown and I think if given time the guys can tear it up. Be nice to see the Rated R Superstar out of the main event picture for once, give him some time to refresh his character a bit.
The Monster Weatherman
3. For those who haven't seen this video yet, I highly recommend searching out Abyss as a local weatherman. It was real funny, and I'm all for it as long as TNA doesn't turn it into an angle....ah crap, why do I expect to see him throwing Raven through a fake news set now during their Monster's Ball match on Sunday?
Slammiversary Thoughts
4. Joe-AJ-Jeff-Kurt-Mick Foley. Real strange to see that combo of names thrown together for this match. I would go with Joe winning, but with him being hurt and all and gunning for Angle, I think time will wait. I don't think Foley will win, and I think Jarrett will get screwed too, so I'm gonna go with AJ recapturing the belt here and tossing the legend's belt finally. Let's also go with Jay Lethal winning the X Title, just because.
Clockwork Orange TNA
5. Leave it to TNA to throw more gimmicks around again. What the hell was with the Raven-Jethro match on Impact? Half a cage and random weapons, and not even the good kind. This is a House of Fun match? And someone want to explain what was up with Jethro recreating the Lashley cage bump, albeit a little differently? Enough with the damn gimmicks already, c'mon. A one on one match I beg of you.
Stipulations in WWE
6. And I may have spoken too soon because apparently the WWE is looking into an all Hell of the Cell PPV or something like that. I'm looking at you No Mercy and you Armageddon. Stipulations will be at every PPV soon spare the Big 4. Bank on that one.
Some Quiet Releases
7. See ya Sim Snuka and Candice Michelle. Snuka is an interesting one because rumor had it that he was being trained as an announcer, but that debacle with him not catching Undertakers dive may have done him in. Tough break for the former Deuce. And Candice, well I guess that leaves Maria as the last Playboy diva. It was time for her to go anyways, feel as if her time had come.
Dos Caras Finally Coming?
8. For those who remember my Royal Rumble column a long time ago, my longshot prediction was that this guy would come in and compete, knocking out Rey and setting up a feud. Well I've seen many a YouTube video on the wrestler, and he would be a welcome addition to any roster. Welcome aboard sir.
A Godwinn Release
9. So as a member of the PWInsider Twitter followers, I saw Mike posted another release coming soon. I stayed up til 1230 waiting and saw a second generation star released. Woulda put 50 bucks on Jesse getting the boot, but low and behold it was Henry Godwinn's boy. Didn't even know he was employed. But best of luck in his future endeavors as well there.
10. Misawa
Real sad news bout this guy. I'm really not too familiar with him, but I understand he has influenced the masses and was one of Japan's best. If any good could come of this, maybe officials all over in wrestling arenas will be more conscientious and on their toes when it comes to those wrestling with prior injuries. Condolences to all affected.
