THIS WEEK IN WRESTLING

By Zach Levine on 6/27/2009 10:28 AM

Hey hey hey [Damn it Zack Ryder] and welcome back to This Week In Wrestling. Let's get to all the wrestling goodness of this past week, shall we?

A Heel Nation
1. Odd, just odd what happened at Slammiversary, and I'm not talking about Kurt Angle's new hairdo. So Joe, who has been attacking the Main Event Mafia for months, joins them willy-nilly? And if I have this right, the Mafia now has Angle, Booker, Steiner, Nash, Joe and Matt Morgan. Not sure why TNA went this route, especially with the fact they just could have had a Joe-Foley PPV title match where Tazz finally debuts for a face Joe, leading to that whole storyline.

What About Stinger?
2. So Stings out of the Mafia now. Well....I predict that by the end of the year, Sting leaves the company, leading to a 2010 WWE Hall of Fame induction by Flair. Will he be the headliner? I think someone with some Machismo will be the headliner personally, but be great to see Sting inducted too. Just a thought.

Trump Be Gone
3. Well that was quick. I'll join the millions who are thankful not to see that toupee on WWE television anymore, but does this mean we get old heel crazy coot Vince back again? And I actually liked the idea of celeb GM's. It would give each week a different flavor, spice everything up again.

Bash Predictions
4. Very interesting PPV coming up, mainly because it will be a bunch of new match-ups with some old favorites taking the night off. Let's go with...
Punk over Hardy, Cena over Miz, Orton over HHH, Ziggler over Khali, Legacy over Colons, McCool over Melina, Mysterio over Jericho, and Dreamer retaining the belt in the scramble.

FCW Thoughts
5. Been youtubing a lot of FCW lately. Love love love the Abraham Saddam Washington character. Get him up to the big leagues pronto. His debate was hysterical and they need to capitalize on this talent now. Make him a manager or GM. Personally I'd change the Saddam to Obama to get the three presidents in there, but that's just my opinion.

The Return of Daivari?
6. Interesting news reported on this site that the WWE may be once again interested in Daivari. Say what you will about him, but he improved in leaps and bounds while in TNA. Yes his theme had that horrible plane crash idea in it, but solid character and TNA could've been the refresher he needs. I mean how much longer can you fight referees and Eric Young without losing it?

LAX - Back and Better
7. If I remember correctly, there is a popular TNA tag team who were hurt for a while, but are due to come back soon. I swear woulda been awesome if Hernandez cashed in his MITB.......I mean Feast or Fired case on Angle post KOTM, but oh well. Would like to see Cide back too, hell of a talent that tag team is.

Dr. Stevie's Push
8. Hey would you look at this. Sorry to be so TNA centric this week, but Stevie Richards is getting a nice little push over there in TNA. Love the interactions with Abyss and Daffney, and the two of them could have a real solid matchup coming up. Good for Richards to get some notice for once after all the recent stop/start goings in the WWE.

An Older Thought
9. I was watching this week ECW One Night Stand 2006, with the great crowd at the Cena-RVD match. Upon rewatching, I caught the clip of Sandman caning the everloving bejesus out of Eugene. Why, might I ask, didn't the WWE take that opportunity to change Gene's character that night instead of the beatdown? Sorry to get off on an older rant here, but wouldn't that of been the perfect opportunity for him to "break character," completely wreck the WWE for the character they made for him, and then show up on ECW and become the sick wrestler he actually was? Just a thought.

Jericho Tweets
10. A heads up for all twitterers out there. Do yourself a favor and follow Chris Jericho. Hysterical stuff the guy publishes every day. After RAW, he apologized to all the fans for shoving Khali and preventing him from diving off the top rope. Perfect setting for him to express his character, great stuff.

AND that wraps up this week. Thanks for reading, any feedback please send to zachlevine86@gmail.com. Peace out.
