THIS WEEK IN WRESTLING

Hey hey everybody. Zach here with This Week In Wrestling. Interesting week we had, so lets get to the news shall we?
1. Let's lead off this week with the Hardy-Punk situation. For the first time in quite some time, I watched a PPV live, and I did not expect Hardy to win at all. I will say though Punk's promo after the tag match was simply outstanding. WWE may have struck a goldmine here. As for Hardy, congrats to him, and I like the idea of perhaps having a three way match at Summerslam with Morrison, Punk and Hardy fighting for the belt. Quite curious now to see what happens to Hardy here, if he bounces right after Summerslam or stays a little bit longer with the title as his incentive to stick around.
2. Wellll it's the JerichShows. I'm sure conflicted about this move. But the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. Show and Jericho are two of the best heels right now, and pairing them together makes sense. Plus kudos to the Big Show for reinventing his character, from an Andre clone to a different guy. This is kinda like what Jericho did after he turned on Michaels last year, changed his gear, and took on a whole new persona.
3. Oh and it finally happened this week. The Brian Kendrick will be missed by many fans, I will say that. He may not have been the biggest or most recognizable, but he was one popular wrestler. I do see light at the end of the tunnel however. How does a Motor City Machine Guns vs. Londrick match sound in oh about 90 days?
4. So after reading the Impact spoilers, made sure to tune in this week to check out the show. Lashley was gonna debut, EY was gonna shave his head, and Hernandez was gonna beat Joe. All 3 were really damn anticlimatic! The hell was with that final match? Least have Bobby fight Booker as the two can put on a good match. Nash is a bit past his prime to be taking on the new hope for TNA. EY got three shaves in before he stopped, if he went all out in the ring then that woulda been something to see. Didn't even look like he got anywhere. And Hernandez-Joe...oy. Why was Joe pinned so cleanly? Submission machine my foot.
5, So here's my million dollar question this week. Why didn't Mark Henry or MVP win that Beat the Clock contest? Did Cena need to win to prove himself? That stat PWInsider showed this week was real scary. Let's get some fresh blood in the main event pronto. Especially Mark Henry, who's been on a massive roll ever since turning face on RAW.
6. Interesting story coming out this week that said Ziggler was supposed to win the IC belt mere hours before NOC. C'mon WWE, gotta pull the plug at sometime. What they should be doing, in my opinion, is training Dos Caras and Sicodelico hard to come up and be in the same vein as Rey-Rey. That way if the situation arises where he may be hardballing the WWE, they have alternate options to go if Mr. Mysterio decides to leave the company.
7. Not for nothing, but here's what stuck out at me from NOC. The Guardrail DDT was an awesome spot. Christian's win got a huge pop at the bar I was watching at, which should say something about his status in many fan's eyes. Many were sitting on their hands during the three way between Cena, HHH, and Orton. Oh and if anyone orders a PPV, do it through a cable provider. This place went through a satelitte dish, the storm of the century hit, and we missed the end of Ziggler-Mysterio.
8. Oh so yesterday was apparently a rough day in TNA, with some backstage people being let go. We could see a whole new dynamic in the company with new creative minds. And again, not saying this would or will happen at all, but how would TNA look with Heyman running the show creatively?
9. I'm excited for Piven to host RAW this week. My question is, does he run the show in his Ari Gold persona or does he go as himself. I'm picturing him on his cell phone the entire show, promising to make deals and what not. Oh and watch him call Hornswoggle and Chavo out to the ring to "Hug It Out," only for Hornswoggle to lowblow Chavo or something.
10. Ha and last but not least, TNA took the WWE's deal with Playboy. Guess they'll run the Traci Brooks one during the Bound for Glory weekend, try to make it their Wrestlemania. Interesting move, and you have to believe the WWE is taking notice of them for doing this.
