Mike Goldberg welcomes us to the event and talks about the evenings main event before introducing Joe Rogan, who also discusses the main event. Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan then talk about the Anderson Silva/Forrest Griffin fight and the rest of the card.

Fight #1: UFC Lightweight Division Fight

Josh Neer (25-7-0-1NC) vs. Kurt Pellegrino (19-4-0)

Referee: Dan Miragliotta

Round One

The round begins with both fighters swinging wildly at each other, Josh Neer then attempts a head kick on Kurt Pellegrino. Kurt Pellegrino then scores a double leg takedown on Josh Neer, Kurt Pellegrino then moves into the half guard on Josh Neer. Josh Neer then moves Kurt Pellegrino to the full guard while eating a few elbow strikes, Josh Neer quickly locks in an arm bar on Kurt Pellegrino and he gets slammed on his head for his efforts. Kurt Pellegrino then moves into half guard on Josh Neer, Kurt Pellegrino postures up before attempting a diving punch on Josh Neer. Kurt Pellegrino then moves into half guard again on Josh Neer, Josh Neer then uses his legs to move Kurt Pellegrino into the full guard. Kurt Pellegrino escapes to half guard on Josh Neer as the round ends.

Round Two

The round begins with Josh Neer hitting Kurt Pellegrino with a few leg kicks, Kurt Pellegrino responds by hitting Josh Neer with a punching combination. Kurt Pellegrino goes for a single leg takedown on Josh Neer and gets him down into full guard, Kurt Pellegrino postures up and Josh Neer hits him with an up kick. Kurt Pellegrino quickly goes back on top of Josh Neer and goes back into full guard, Josh Neer then hits Kurt Pellegrino with elbow strikes to the head from the bottom position. Josh Neer tries to lock in an arm bar on Kurt Pellegrino and eats a punch to the face, Kurt Pellegrino then transitions to full mount on Josh Neer before he transitions to back control as the round ends.

Round Three

The round begins with Kurt Pellegrino hitting Josh Neer with a body kick, Josh Neer responds by hitting Kurt Pellegrino with a body kick of his own. Kurt Pellegrino then catches the leg of Josh Neer during a kick attempt and scores a takedown, Josh Neer attempts an omaplata from the ground and Kurt Pellegrino hits him with a hammer fist. Kurt Pellegrino then moves into the full guard of Josh Neer, Kurt Pellegrino postures up is quickly put back into full guard by Josh Neer. Kurt Pellegrino then uses ground and pound to punish Josh Neer, Josh Neer then hits Kurt Pellegrino with elbow strikes while in the bottom position. Kurt Pellegrino quickly moves into the half guard on Josh Neer, Kurt Pellegrino then uses elbow strikes to briefly move into full mount on Josh Neer. Josh Neer quickly escapes and both fighters stand up, Josh Neer then drops Kurt Pellegrino with tons of elbow strikes as the round concludes.

Fight Result: Kurt Pellegrino def. Josh Neer by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Fight #2: UFC Middleweight Division Fight

Kendall Grove (12-5-0) vs. Ricardo Almeida (10-3-0)

Referee: Mario Yamasaki

Round One

The round begins with Ricardo Almeida quickly forcing Kendall Grove against the cage wall, Ricardo Almeida then hits Kendall Grove with a knee strike to the chest. The fighters break apart and Ricardo Almeida nails Kendall Grove with a straight right to the face, Kendall Grove then gets his leg caught by Ricardo Almeida during a kick attempt. Ricardo Almeida then forces Kendall Grove against the cage wall, Ricardo Almeida uses a trip to put Kendall Grive on the ground. Ricardo Almeida then postures up on Kendall Grove and hits him with a diving punch, Ricardo Almeida then moves to back control on Kendall Grove. Ricardo Almeida then starts assaulting Kendall Grove with knee strikes to the mid-section, the fighters stand up and Ricardo Almeida quickly scores a takedown as the round ends.

Round Two

The round begins with Ricardo Almeida hitting Kendall Grove with a straight right, Ricardo Almeida then scores the takedown on Kendall Grove. Kendall Grove uses the cage walk to trap Ricardo Almeida in the arm bar, but Ricardo Almeida escapes and moves into the full guard of Kendall Grove. Kendall Grove then locks Ricardo Almeida in the body triangle while both men strike each other, Ricardo Almeida breaks the triangle and postures up on Kendall Grove. Ricardo Almeida then moves into the full guard of Kendall Grove, Ricardo Almeida then transitions to side control on Kendall Grove while assaulting him with punches. The fighters stand up and Ricardo Almeida forces Kendall Grove against the cage wall, Kendall Grove then catches a charging Ricardo Almeida with an uppercut and knee strike. Ricardo Almeida scores a double leg takedown on Kendall Grove as the round ends.

Round Three

The round begins with Ricardo Almeida hitting Kendall Grove with an inside leg kick, Ricardo Almeida then scores a double leg takedown on Kendall Grove. The fighters quickly stand up and Ricardo Almeida forces Kendall Grove against the cage wall, Ricardo Almeida tries for a flying arm bar and Kendall Grove levels him with some hammer fist. Kendall Grove then forces Ricardo Almeida against the cage wall while hitting him with knee strikes, Ricardo Almeida then scores a double leg takedown on Kendall Grove. Ricardo Almeida then moves into the full guard of Kendall Grove, Kendall Grove fails at an attempt to use the rubber guard on Ricardo Almeida. The fighters stand back up and Ricardo Almeida grabs onto Kendall Groves legs as the round ends.

Fight #3: UFC Welterweight Division Fight

Amir Sadollah (1-0-0) vs. Johny Hendricks (5-0-0)

Round One

The round begins with Amir Sadollah going for the head kick on Johny Hendricks, Johny Hendricks then drops Amir Sadollah with a series of uppercuts and he hits him with a few more punches before referee Dan Miragliotta stops the fight.

Fight Result: Johny Hendricks def. Amir Sadollah by TKO via strikes (0:29, R1)

Post fight interview with Johny Hendricks, who says that it wasn’t his fault that the referee called the fight when he did before thanking his family.

Fight #4: UFC Lightweight Division Fight

Shane Nelson (13-3-0) vs. Aaron Riley (27-11-1)

Round One

The round begins with Aaron Riley briefly dropping Shane Nelson with a left to the head, Shane Nelson then hits Aaron Riley with a leg kick. Aaron Riley quickly responds by hitting Shane Nelson with a body kick, Aaron Riley then forces Shane Nelson against the cage wall. Shane Nelson then hits Aaron Riley with a left to the face, Aaron Riley then forces Shane Nelson against the cage wall. Aaron Riley then hits Shane Nelson with a knee to the chest, Aaron Riley then hits Shane Nelson with an elbow strike to the head. Shane Nelson goes for the takedown and Aaron Riley blocks it, Aaron Riley then holds Shane Nelson against the cage wall as the round ends.

Round Two

The round begins with Aaron Riley grazing Shane Nelson with a head kick, Shane Nelson then connects with a body kick on Aaron Riley. Aaron Riley then forces Shane Nelson against the cage wall, Shane Nelson then hits Aaron Riley with a knee strike to the chest. Aaron Riley recovers by hitting Shane Nelson with a body kick and knee strike, Aaron Riley then scores a takedown on Shane Nelson. Aaron Riley then moves into half guard on Shane Nelson, Shane Nelson then moves Aaron Riley into full guard. The referee stands up the fighters and Shane Nelson hits Aaron Riley with a body kick as the round ends.

Round Three

The round begins with both fighters hitting each other with punches to the head and body, Shane Nelson then starts peppering Aaron Riley with jabs. Aaron Riley then scores a takedown on Shane Nelson and moves into the full guard, Aaron Riley starts to use ground and pound on Shane Nelson. Aaron Riley starts assaulting Shane Nelson with elbow strikes to the face, Aaron Riley then starts throwing tons of punches at Shane Nelson as the round concludes.

The round begins with Forrest Griffin hitting Anderson Silva with a leg kick, Forrest Griffin then attempts a head kick on Anderson Silva. Anderson Silva then drops Anderson Silva with a right hook, Anderson Silva then connects with an uppercut on Forrest Griffin. Anderson Silva then drops Forrest Griffin against with a left hook, Anderson Silva then knocks out a charging Forrest Griffin with a straight left and referee Kevin Mulhall stops the fight.

Fight Result: Anderson Silva def. Forrest Griffin by knockout via head punch (3:23, R1)

Post fight interview with Anderson Silva, who puts over Forrest Griffin as a tough opponent and he says he is willing to fight in the UFC Light Heavyweight Division again.

Mike Goldberg interviews Gerard Butler and Terry Crews to promote the movie “Gamer.”

Main Event: UFC Lightweight Title Fight

BJ Penn *Champion* (13-5-1) vs. Kenny Florian (13-3-0)

Round One

The round begins with BJ Penn quickly dropping Kenny Florian with a jab, BJ Penn then forces Kenny Florian into the cage wall before hitting him with an elbow strike to the head. The fighters clinch and both do some dirty boxing, BJ Penn forces Kenny Florian against the cage wall again while hitting him with sift uppercuts, BJ Penn starts hitting Kenny Florian in the leg with knee strikes. Kenny Florian then hits BJ Penn with a leg kick, BJ Penn hits Kenny Florian with an overhand right and flying knee strike as the round ends.

Round Two

The round begins with Kenny Florian hitting BJ Penn with a few leg kicks, Kenny Florian then forces BJ Penn against the cage wall. BJ Penn then connects with a short left to the head on Kenny Florian, Kenny Florian then forces BJ Penn against the cage wall again. BJ Penn connects with an illegal punch to the back of the head on Kenny Florian, but Kenny Florian continues after they give each other a high five. BJ Penn then hits Kenny Florian with a few uppercuts, Kenny Florian then hits BJ Penn with a few leg kicks as the round ends.

Round Three

The round begins with Kenny Florian attempting a head kick on BJ Penn, Kenny Florian then forces BJ Penn against the cage wall while delivering knee strikes. Kenny Florian throws a series of short body punches at BJ Penn, Kenny Florian then hits BJ Penn with an elbow strike to the head. BJ Penn then catches Kenny Florian with a left to the head, Kenny Florian then hits BJ Penn with a leg kick before forcing him against the cage wall. BJ Penn then hits Kenny Florian with a punching combination to the face, BJ Penn then hit’s a charging Kenny Florian with a straight left as the round ends.

Round Four

The round begins with BJ Penn hitting Kenny Florian with a left hook, Kenny Florian then forces BJ Penn against the cage wall. Kenny Florian then hits BJ Penn with an elbow strike to the face, BJ Penn recovers by scoring a double leg takedown on Kenny Florian. BJ Penn gets half guard on Kenny Florian while using short elbow strikes to the face, BJ Penn starts connecting with several punches to the face of Kenny Florian. BJ Penn transitions to full mount on Kenny Florian before gaining back control, BJ Penn then moves back to full mount on Kenny Florian. BJ Penn then returns to back control on Kenny Florian and locks in the rear naked choke and Kenny Florian is forced to tap out.

Fight Result: BJ Penn def. Kenny Florian by submission via rear naked choke (3:54, R4) to retain the UFC Lightweight Title

Post fight interview with BJ Penn, who says that it has always been his dream to be UFC Lightweight Champion and then says that he loves his fans.

The George Sotiropoulos vs. George Roop preliminary fight airs.
