Hey hey everyone and welcome back to this week in wrestling. I am once again Zach Levine here to look at all that went down this past week in the squared and six sided circle. Let's do this.
1. Got some TNA thoughts to kick off this writing with. I remember reading a while back that when Flair retired, TNA wanted to do a similar event for the Stinger. Well...I think a program just began. I got to believe that with what we've just seen, at Bound For Glory we will have an AJ Styles vs Sting retirement match, with the phenomenal one coming out on top. Would Sting then go to the WWE to wrestle? I wouldn't count on it, but a 2010 DVD and poss Hall of Fame induction isn't quite out of the picture.
2. The Pope D'Angelo Dinero. Welcome back sir, you have been missed. He did an awesome job in the Terrordome match, had a sick spot with a spear off the top rope. However, my only question is why he didn't try to escape the cage. After watching it, looked like he was too afraid to climb, so he just jumped down and beat on Suicide some more. But welcome back and I expect big things from him in TNA.
3. Will Jeff Hardy's final WWE appearance be on Sunday? Very interesting to see what happens here. Hell of a match for him to go out on if that is the deal. My prediction is that Punk wins with the GTS off a ladder through a table. Matt runs down to check on his brother post-match, setting up the next logical title challenger. However the Undertaker's name has been mentioned as a possible opponent, so we'll see what happens here.
4. Loved the Legacy beatdown of DX this past week. When DX walked out to the ring, I thought that there was a 0 percent chance they will lose their match at Summerslam. It almost seemed to mirror the Spirit Squad in some aspects. So I was glad to see Legacy gain some heat. If anything, would have liked to see each of them throw a finisher on the DX members as well.
5. Surprised this week as well that several wrestlers have come out bashing RAW and their inability to create new talent. I guess Legacy counts, but other than that...Kofi? Miz? That's about it. MVP, Swagger, Bourne and even Carlito are jumping at the bit to try to move into the upper echelon. But if the WWE wants to continue giving us Cena-Orton matches, so be it. No guest GM can turn those ratings around.
6. Strange comment coming from Awesome Kong's twitter page, saying something about having a big announcement and thanking TNA management for all they have done. Think this means her stateside career is over? Let the speculation begin.
7. The hell is going on with the Motor City Machine Guns? Great, great showing in the Terrordome and that promo on Thursday followed it? I did laugh real hard at the District 9 reference and the Shamwow, but come on. Push those guys, please. It's about damn time.
8. Gotta think that after ECW this week, William Regal wins the belt at Summerslam. Great stable with Kozlov and Big Zeke. Only way I can see Christian winning is if he gets some people to help him out as well. Perhaps Dreamer and a new and improved Gold Standard?
9. Speaking of ECW, the Abe Washington show was harder to watch than usual this week. He had on Goldust [why I don't know] and then brought out Shaemus. For a while, I swear it looked like they were going to kiss, it was quite odd. Even Striker said it was uncomfortable. So for the love of God, repackage Abe, and please stop letting Goldust beat the up and comer Shaemus.
10. HEY would you look at this by the way. A week without a future endeavor. Makes my heart good to see that the WWE has kept their roster in tact for another week haha. Let's see if we can go two weeks in a row.
