PREVIEWING THE ADRENALINE MMA IV TELEVISED CARD

By David Tees on 9/16/2009 1:45 AM
Adrenaline MMA Lightweight Division Fight

Jimmy Seipel (0-1-0) vs. Bob Tuttle (0-0-0)

Jimmy Seipel made his professional MMA debut at Victory Fighting Championship 26 in February 2009, losing to Drew Dober by submission. Jimmy Seipel will be looking to put the fight on the ground, as he does come into the fight with amateur wrestling experience. Bob Tuttle will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, which his lack of pro experience could hurt him in the fight.

My Prediction: Jimmy Seipel

Adrenaline MMA Middleweight Division Fight

Webster Farris (2-0-0) vs. Joe “The Doctor” Vedepo (7-3-0)

Webster Farris will be making his Adrenaline MMA debut in this fight, but his first two fights occurred in the Warrior Fight Promotion group. While in the Warrior Fight Promotion group, Webster Farris defeated both Asa Kingsbury and Matt Carlson. Webster Farris is a fighter who is comfortable wherever the fight ends up, with both career victories coming by knockout and submission. Joe Vedepo will also be making his Adrenaline MMA debut in this fight, but he is coming off a short run in the UFC. While in the UFC, Joe Vedepo suffered losses to both Alessio Sakara and Rob Kimmons, with both fights occurring at UFC Ultimate Fight Night events. Joe Vedepo started off his MMA career in impressive fashion, with a five fight undefeated streak that lasted nearly two years. Joe Vedepo is a fighter who is comfortable wherever the fight ends up, with six victories coming by knockout and submission.

My Prediction: Joe Vedepo

Adrenaline MMA Middleweight Division Fight

Jeremy Lang (15-1-0) vs. Matt Delanoit (6-7-0)

Jeremy Lang started off his MMA career in a truly impressive fashion with a twelve fight undefeated streak that lasted nearly two years. Jeremy Lang made a lone appearance in the World Extreme Cagefighting promotion, losing to Tim McKenzie at WEC 34. Of his sixteen professional fights, only two have gone past the second round, which speaks to Jeremy Lang’s finishing abilities. Jeremy Lang will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with nine victories coming by knockout. Matt Delanoit will be entering the fight with a losing record, but has once fought current UFC fighter Kevin Burns early in his career. Matt Delanoit is a veteran of the Victory Fighting Championships promotion, where he defeated Mike Van Meer and Tony Cote, while losing to Kevin Burns and Dominic Brown. This fight against Jeremy Lang at Adrenaline MMA IV will mark the fifth of the year 2009 for Matt Delanoit. Matt Delanoit is a fighter who is comfortable wherever the fight ends up, with five victories coming by knockout and submission.

My Prediction: Jeremy Lang

Adrenaline MMA Lightweight Division Fight

Alonzo Martinez (23-13-1) vs. Ryan Williams (9-5-0)

Alonzo Martinez is a well traveled MMA veteran who has fought in top promotions like the Bellator Fighting Championships, Victory Fighting Championships, All Fighting Championships and Fight Fest. Alonzo Martinez has also fought top MMA fighters like Clay Guida, Alvin Robinson, Luke Caudillo, Yves Edwards and Clay French. Alonzo Martinez will be entering the fight in somewhat of a slump, only winning one of his last four MMA fights. Alonzo Martinez will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with thirteen victories coming by submission. Ryan Williams is a veteran of Adrenaline MMA competition, losing to Joe Jordan at Adrenaline MMA 1 and defeating Jesse Lennox at Adrenaline MMA II. Ryan Williams started off his MMA career in less than impressive fashion, losing to UFC veteran Rory Markham by submission. Besides competing in the Adrenaline MMA promotion, Ryan Williams also competed in promotions like Extreme Challenge and Xtreme Fighting Organization. Ryan Williams is a fighter who is comfortable wherever the fight ends up, with seven victories coming by knockout and submission.

My Prediction: Alonzo Martinez

Adrenaline MMA Welterweight Division Fight

Forrest “The Meat Cleaver” Petz (15-7-0) vs. Chad “The Grinder” Reiner (21-8-0)

Forrest Petz is a veteran of UFC competition, having defeated Sam Morgan and Luigi Fioravanti, while suffering losses to Marcus Davis, Kuniyoshi Hironaka and Josh Burkman. Forrest Petz did compete at the inaugural Adrenaline MMA event, defeating Brian Gassaway by unanimous decision. Before having his run in the UFC, Forrest Petz defeated top ranked MMA fighters Dan Hardy and Charles Bennett. Forrest Petz will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with seven victories coming by knockout. Like his opponent, Chad Reiner also had a run in the UFC, losing to both Anthony Johnson and Josh Burkman. Chad Reiner started off his professional MMA career in impressive fashion, with a twelve fight undefeated streak that lasted over a year. Chad Reiner will be taking on Forrest Petz with less than a month since he last fought in an MMA fight, which was a victory over Nate Martin. Chad Reiner will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with eleven victories coming by way of submission.

My Prediction: Chad Reiner

Adrenaline MMA Light Heavyweight Division Fight

Houston “The Assassin” Alexander (8-4-0) vs. Sherman “The Tank” Pendergarst (11-14-0)

Houston Alexander is coming off an interesting run in the UFC, attaining victories over Keith Jardine and Alessio Sakara, while suffering defeats to James Irvin, Eric Schafer and Thiago Silva. In fact, this fight against Sherman Pendergarst will mark the first time Houston Alexander has fought outside of the UFC in over two years. Of his twelve professional MMA fights, only two have gone past the first round for Houston Alexander, which speaks to his finishing abilities. Houston Alexander will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with five victories coming by knockout. Sherman Pendergarst has also fought in the UFC, losing to heavyweight contender Antoni Hardonk at UFC 65 by knockout. Sherman Pendergarst has also fought other top MMA fighters like Justin Eilers, Shane Carwin and Carmelo Marrera. Sherman Pendergarst has lost his last five MMA fights, and in fact, hasn’t won a professional MMA fight in over a year. Sherman Pendergarst will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with eight previous victories coming by submission.

My Prediction: Houston Alexander

Adrenaline MMA Heavyweight Division Fight

Tim “The Maine-iac” Sylvia (24-6-0) vs. Jason Riley (6-1-0)

Tim Sylvia is a longtime veteran of UFC competition and is a former two time UFC Heavyweight Champion, having fought top notch fighters like Frank Mir, Wesley Correira, Ricco Rodriquez, Andrei Arlovski, Assuerio Silva, Jeff Monson, Randy Couture, Brandon Vera and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira while in the UFC. Recently, Tim Sylvia has been on a three fight losing streak, having suffered losses to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Fedor Emelianenko and Ray Mercer. Tim Sylvia will be looking to use his striking skills to gain the victory, with sixteen wins coming by knockout. Jason Riley will be making his Adrenaline MMA debut in this fight, but does hold a victory over UFC veteran Josh Shockman. Jason Riley is a veteran of the International Fighting & Boxing League, holding victories over Braden Bice, Shane Lightle and Brian Peoples. Of his seven professional MMA fights, only one has gone to a decision for Jason Riley, which speaks to his finishing abilities. Jason Riley is a fighter who is comfortable wherever the fight ends up, with five victories coming by knockout and submission.

My Prediction: Tim Sylvia
