THIS WEEK IN WRESTLING

Hey hey everybody and welcome back to This Week In Wrestling. Appreciate all the feedback I've been getting on my last few columns, keep em coming. Let's get on to this week in wrestling shall we?
1. I'll begin with Smackdown first off. This whole Punk-Taker situation has me real confused. So Teddy ordered this because? And does this mean that Taker-Punk is over? Interesting to see how they book their way out of this one. Well here is my suggestion...
2. And that suggestion, a heel Batista. Hear me out. Taker-Punk in Hell in a Cell, Tista is the special guest referee. Batista ends up turning on Taker, letting Punk keep the title. We find out the next week on Smackdown it was Batista who made the orders, saying the only way he'd come to Smackdown is if Teddy Long screwed Taker out of the title. Let's see where it goes from here.
3. Real random thought this week...but I urge people to check out an innovate move from The American Wolves in ROH. It's not even a finisher which surprised me, but saw it in a match they had against Cheech and Cloudy. It was a combo powerbomb/backstabber. Someone can correct me if this move has been used before, but kudos to them. Wouldn't mind seeing those two guys be the other two to go to the WWE besides for Nigel and Bryan.
4. Speaking of Nigel and Bryan, apparently they will skip developmental entirely and go straight to a roster. My hope is that the WWE lets them keep their names, or changes it ever so slightly. Don't need to see them enter the ring as Steve Jones and Bob Taylor. And again, counting down the days til they enter the WWE.
5. Ha oh, and this week marks two years since Triple H pedigreed Londrick out of respectability. Let me reset the picture for you. Trips beats Cade and Murdoch, then Carlito comes down to ringside and he beats him too. Londrick help him with knocking out Cade and Murdoch, then they enter the ring to shake Trips hand. He responds by predigreeing them, a move that still confuses me to this day. Least Kendrick was able to gain back some respectability last year in his singles role.
6. And how about that new ECW number 1 contender. Not exactly sure what to think there. On the one hand, love seeing new talent elevated. On the other hand, why Ryder? Burchill was right there and could have had some amazing matchups with Capt. Charisma. Ryder loses to Yoshi, and then we're supposed to accept him as the #1 contender? Ah well, least it wasn't Kozlov as the new main eventer.
7. I skipped Impact this week...but not gonna let TNA off the hook. Apparently Cornette was canned for bashing Russo's use of Eric Young in the roster. I like EY's new personality, but I agree he was over-pushed. To me though, it sounds like this was just one more event that added up. Shame though that guys like Heyman and Cornette are out of a job, they could real make a difference in creative for some group [but please not Hulkamania].
8. Interesting end to the Chavo-Swoggle feud. Honestly expected to see him future endeavored this week. Maybe it will be a package deal with Lillian or something. But sad to see that the feud ended without Chavo picking up a single win. And if this starts a Hornswoggle-Carlito feud now, then what the hell is going on?
9. Cool news bout Linda McMahon this week. Hey if Ventura can do it, why can't her. Best of luck, and if she can run a company as crazy as wrestling, how different could politics be? Well actually very different, but still, good luck Linda haha.
10. And I went a bit overboard on the negativity this week, so five things I liked this week in wrestling. Here we go.
a. Christian vs. Burchill on Superstars
b. Morrison vs. Knox on Smackdown
c. MVP executing a plancha and Mark Henry's flying dive at the Big Show
d. Shelton's elimination of Ezekial during ECW's battle royal
e. Build to an Abyss Foley match. Barb Wire Massacre 3 on the horizon???
