By David Tees on 10/21/2009 7:34 PM
UFC Heavyweight Division Fight

Stefan “Skyscraper” Struve (17-3-0) vs. Chase Gormley (6-0-0)

Stefan Struve has had an decent run in the UFC thus far, with a victory over Denis Stojnic and suffering a defeat to Junior Dos Santos. Before coming to the UFC earlier this year, Stefan Struve has previously fought UFC veterans Mario Neto and Colin Robinson, defeating both. Stefan Struve has yet to see any of his twenty professional MMA fights go to a decision, which speaks to his finishing abilities. Stefan Struve will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with thirteen career victories coming by submission. Chase Gormley will be making his UFC debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of the Gladiator Challenge promotion. While in the Gladiator Challenge promotion, Chase Gormley has defeated John Devine, Brandon Tarns and Rick Cheek. The biggest victory of Chase Gormley’s career came over Eric Pele, who was a reality TV show star as part of the cast for the A&E program “Inked.” Chase Gormley is a fighter who is comfortable wherever the fight ends up, with four victories coming by knockout and submission.

My Prediction: Stefan Struve

UFC Light Heavyweight Division Fight

Kyle “Kingsbu” Kingsbury (7-2-0) vs. Razak “Razor” Al-Hassan (6-1-0)

Kyle Kingsbury made his UFC debut at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale in late 2008, losing to Tom Lawlor by unanimous decision. Kyle Kingsbury is a longtime veteran of the Rage In The Cage promotion, where he won all five of his fights in the promotion. Kyle Kingsbury started off his MMA career in impressive fashion, with a seven fight undefeated streak that lasted over a year. Kyle Kingsbury is a fighter who is comfortable wherever the fight ends up, with five victories coming by knockout and submission. Razak Al-Hassan made his UFC debut at UFC Fights For The Troops in late 2008, losing to Steve Cantwell by submission. Razak Al-Hassan is a veteran of the Mainstream MMA promotion, with victories coming over Eric Daughetee and Todd Monghan. Razak Al-Hassan started off his MMA career in impressive fashion, with a six fight undefeated streak that lasted over a year. Razak Al-Hassan will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with four victories coming by way of submission.

My Prediction: Razak Al-Hassan

UFC Middleweight Division Fight

Jorge “El Conquistador” Rivera (16-7-0) vs. Rob “The Rosedale Reaper” Kimmons (22-4-0)

Jorge Rivera is a longtime veteran of UFC competition, with victories over David Loiseau, Dennis Hallman, Edwin Dewees, Kendall Grove and Nissen Osterneck, while suffering losses to Lee Murray, Rich Franklin, Chris Leben, Terry Martin and Martin Kampmann. Jorge Rivera also fought current UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, losing to him at Cage Rage 11 in early 2005. Jorge Rivera will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with ten victories coming by knockout. Rob Kimmons has had a successful run in the UFC, with victories over Rob Yundt and Joe Vedepo, while suffering a lone defeat to Dan Miller. Before coming to the UFC in mid-2008, Rob Kimmons fought UFC veteran Joe Riggs, Marvin Eastman and Ryan Jensen, losing to all three. Rob Kimmons fought almost a third of his professional MMA fights in 2006, competing eight times that year alone. Rob Kimmons will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with fourteen victories coming by way of submission.

My Prediction: Jorge Rivera

UFC Middleweight Division Fight

Yushin “Thunder” Okami (23-4-0) vs. Chael Sonnen (23-10-1)

Yushin Okami has had a pretty dominant run in the UFC, attaining victories over Alan Belcher, Kalib Starnes, Rory Singer, Mike Swick, Jason MacDonald, Evan Tanner and Dean Lister, while suffering a lone defeat to Rich Franklin. Yushin Okami even holds a victory over current UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, whom he defeated by disqualification in early 2006. Chael Sonnen has had an interesting run in the UFC, with victories coming over Trevor Prangley and Dan Miller, while suffering defeats to Jeremy Horn, Renato Sobral and Demian Maia. Chael Sonnen also had a successful run in the World Extreme Cagefighting promotion, defeating Paulo Filho and Bryan Baker, while suffering a lone defeat to Paulo Filho.
