A GREAT IDEA FOR A HOGAN STORYLINE

By Bigtime on 11/23/2009 10:06 AM

..........but not necessarily a Hulk Hogan storyline.

We all know that The Hogan Family needs money.  We all know that Hulk Hogan's biggest earning days and best ring performances are behind him.  So how do we get bigger paydays and better performances as a result of Hulk Hogan's involvement.

Make Brooke the immediate future of The Hogan Legacy!

TNA wrestling dominates WWE in regards to good women's wrestling.  They put a legitimate effort into the entire division and as a result, the TNA Knockouts are consistently the highest rated part of the IMPACT show.
As history has shown, Brooke's singing career has unfortunately not taken off the way that Hulk and Brooke would've hoped.  Lord knows the effort and money was put into it.  So far, it just hasn't delivered.  Brooke could switch her focus from Music to Wrestling and have the greatest launching pad of a career in the history of the business.  Not to mention that it would be unique since every wrestling legend usually sends their son into the business to carry on the name.

Now, what can we do with Brooke to take advantage of having the most famous last name in pro wrestling history?
Option one would be to program her against Awesome Kong.  Put a little hype into the aspect that her famous Father had to overcome a Kong as well (King Kong Bundy).  Have Brooke stretchered out after a few Kong attacks, build the match to a big PPV, deliver a bodyslam and leg drop onto Kong and I guarantee you a huge pop from any crowd they put it on in front of.

However, that is a little too rehashed for my tastes and has a short shelf life in my opinion.  After all, where does Brooke go after conquering the monster?

Here is what I'd do to start her off.  I'd put her in a Family Feud with the other famous daughter of a wrestling legacy.  Lacey Von Erich.  Now I know Lacey is GARBAGE in the ring and it would take a miracle for a green Brooke to be able to have a passable match against the seemingly incompetent Von Erich, but it can be done with enough coaching and in ring time beforehand.

Anyone who knows the history of the WWF, knows that when Vince wanted to expand nationally, he had 2 choices in mind.  Kerry Von Erich or Hulk Hogan.  I believe that Vince made the right choice in Hogan.  This can be the basis of Lacey's hatred of Brooke.  When Brooke debuts, have Lacey immediately crash the interview, blaming Brooke's father for the Von Erich Family curse, starting with Hulk Hogan "stealing" Kerry's big break and thus "keeping her family down".  Lacey can bring up how Vince and Hulk partnered together to steal the production ideas of WCCW and steal their area talent.  She can name Rick Rude, Ultimate Warrior and others.  Lacey can say that when she heard of Hulk "partnering" with TNA, it brought back all the bad memories of Hulk partnering with the WWF and destroying the territories, then when Kerry had no place else to work after Vince forced WCCW out of business, he had to go to the WWF and disgrace himself in a ridiculous gimmick instead of being treated like the wrestling royalty that he was.  Lacey can say that because Brooke's father brought pain and heartache to her family and nearly wiped it out, she was going to return the favor by making Hulk feel the same heartache by destroying his daughter.  Lacey then proceeds to beat down Brooke in a manner that will have to be more vicious and believable than any other female beatdown before, busting her open even.

You now have the beginning of the Hogan Family vs The Von Erich Family feud.  The twists and turns in a 12 month long feud can be endless.  Interviews with Kevin Von Erich and Hulk Hogan, maybe even a confrontation where Kevin puts the Iron Claw on either Hulk or Brooke.  Lacey bringing up the nasty events of Nick's crash or Linda's divorce.  Hell, Lacey can even state that it was she who tipped off Linda to Hulk's affair and caused the divorce.  The possibilities are endless.

Then after this feud is over, both women would be very established, you'd have a new Hogan star, and maybe then Brooke can be programmed against Kong.  I think it's only natural that Brooke incorporates her Father's Hulk Up from time to time.  Not something that happens in every match leading to a win.  Making Brooke predictable from the start would not do her any favors.  If you build Brooke up properly, make her a legitimate mainstream star, then that can lead to more money making opportunities like movies, tv appearances, and the eventual multi million dollar offer to pose for Playboy.

Hulk gave Brooke a good life and she lived off of him as a child should.  I think it's time for Brooke to return the favor and allow Dad to live off of her in the twilight of his career and life.  It would be the greatest way for her to give back to her family, while taking advantage of the Hogan name and allowing Hulk to take it easy in a manager/advisor television role.
