Rolles Gracie (3-0-0) vs. Joey “The Mexicutioner†Beltran (10-3-0)
Rolles Gracie will be making his UFC debut in this event, but he is a veteran of the Art Of War promotion, where he has won two fights. In those two fights in the Art Of War promotion, Rolles Gracie defeated both Baga Agaev and Peter Graham. Rolles Gracie also fought once in the International Fight League, where he defeated Sam Holloway by submission. Rolles Gracie will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with all of his victories coming by way of submission. Joey Beltran will also be making his UFC debut in this fight, but has already defeated UFC veterans Houston Alexander, Sherman Pendergarst and Wes Combs. Joey Beltran is a veteran of the Total Combat promotion, where he defeated Paul Ingrassia, Tony Velarde, Ray Seraille, Phil Friedman and Wes Fenton. This fight against Rolles Gracie will mark the second fight in under three weeks for Joey Beltran, so conditioning could be a factor in this fight. Joey Beltran will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with nineteen victories coming by knockout.
My Prediction: Rolles Gracie
UFC Heavyweight Division Fight
Tim “The Thrashing Machine†Hague (10-2-0) vs. Chris “The Crowbar†Tuchscherer (17-2-0)
Tim Hague has had an interesting run in the UFC, defeating Pat Barry and suffering a defeat to Todd Duffee. Tim Hague is a longtime veteran of the King Of The Cage promotion, where he defeated Eric Macdonald, Jessie Jones, Jared Kilkenny, Ruben Villareal, Adriano Bernardo, Jeff Lundburg and Sherman Pendergarst. In an interesting career note, Tim Hague’s loss to Todd Duffee at UFC 102 marked the quickest knockout in UFC history. Tim Hague will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with five victories coming by knockout. Chris Tuchscherer made his UFC debut at UFC 102 this past Summer, suffering a defeat to Gabriel Gonzaga. Chris Tuchscherer also made it to the finals of the first ever YAMMA Pit Fighting Tournament, losing to UFC veteran Travis Wiuff in the finals. Prior to entering the UFC in 2009, Chris Tuchscherer defeated UFC veteran Brandon Lee Hinkle at an Extreme Beatdowns event. Chris Tuchscherer is a fighter who is comfortable wherever the fight ends up, with thirteen victories coming by knockout and submission.
My Prediction: Chris Tuchscherer
UFC Light Heavyweight Division Fight
Brian “All American†Stann (8-2-0) vs. Phil “Mr. Wonderful†Davis (4-0-0)
Brian Stann has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Rodney Wallace and Steve Cantwell, while suffering a lone defeat to Krzysztof Soszynski. Brian Stann came to the UFC after a long run in the World Extreme Cagefighting promotion, where he defeated Miguel Cosio, Steve Cantwell, Craig Zellner, Jeremiah Billington and Doug Marshall. Up until the fight against Steve Cantwell at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 19, Brian Stann had not seen one of his fights go to a decision. Brian Stann will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with six victories coming by knockout. Phil Davis will be making his UFC debut in this fight, but will be entering the fight with a four fight undefeated streak. Phil Davis has competed in the Palace Fighting Championships promotion, where he defeated Josh Green by TKO. Of his four professional fights, only one has gone to a decision for Phil Davis, which speaks to the fighters finishing abilities. It has been nearly seven months since Phil Davis last had an MMA fight, so cage rust may become a factor in the fight. Phil Davis will be looking to use his ground and pound skills in the fight, with two victories coming by knockout.
My Prediction: Phil Davis
UFC Lightweight Division Fight
Phillipe “The Filipino Assassin†Nover (5-2-1) vs. Rob “The Saint†Emerson (8-8-0)
Phillipe Nover made it into the UFC after becoming a finalist on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 8, which was won by Efrain Escudero. In his other UFC appearance, Phillipe Nover suffered a defeat to Kyle Bradley at UFC 98 this past Summer. Phillipe Nover is also a veteran of the Ring Of Combat promotion, where he defeated Michael McQuade, Dave Drago, Abner Lloveras and Jay Coleman. In an interesting career not, it has been nearly two years since Phillipe Nover last achieved an MMA victory. Phillipe Nover will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with three victories coming by way of submission. Rob Emerson has had an interesting run in the UFC, defeating Keita Nakamura and Manny Gamburyan, while suffering defeats to Kurt Pellegrino and Rafael Dos Anjos. Prior to entering the UFC in 2007, Rob Emerson had already fought top MMA fighters like Melvin Guillard, Dokojonosuke Mishima and Jens Pulver. Rob Emerson started off his UFC career in interesting fashion, fighting Gray Maynard to a no contest after both fighters were knocked out after a takedown gone wrong. Rob Emerson will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with three victories coming by knockout.
My Prediction: Phillipe Nover
