Luke Stewart has fought all of his professional MMA fights in the Strikeforce promotion, defeating Bill Duvall, Jeremiah Metcalf, Jason Von Flue, Sam Liera, Bryson Kamaka and Jesse Juarez, while suffering defeats to Tiki Ghosn and Joe Riggs. It has been over a year since Luke Stewart last competed in an MMA fight, so cage rust can become a factor in the fight. Andre Galvao will be making his Strikeforce debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of the DREAM promotion. Lavar “Big†Johnson (13-3-0) vs. Lolohea Mahe (4-0-1)
Lavar Johnson is currently undefeated in Strikeforce competition, defeating Carl Seumanutafa in his Strikeforce debut. Lavar Johnson also competed in the World Extreme Cagefighting promotion, defeating Levi Thornbrue, Fred Diaz, Carlos Garcia and Corey Salter, while suffering defeats to Doug Marshall and Brian Olsen. Lavar Johnson returns to MMA action after suffering serious injuries from a shooting during a family event that killed his cousin. Lavar Johnson will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with eleven victories coming by knockout. Lolohea Mahe will be making his Strikeforce debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of the X-1 MMA promotion. While in X-1 MMA, Lolohea Mahe had achieved a victory over Desi Miner and fighting UFC veteran Scott Junk to a draw. Lolohea Mahe will be entering the fight riding a four fight undefeated streak, which has currently lasted over two years.
