PREVIEWING THE UFC ULTIMATE FIGHT NIGHT 21 PRELIMINARY CARD

UFC Welterweight Division Fight

Charlie “The Spaniard” Brenneman (11-1-0) vs. Jason “The Kansas City Bandit” High (9-2-0)

Charlie Brenneman will be making his UFC debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of the Ring Of Combat promotion. While in Ring Of Combat, Charlie Brenneman defeated Jordan Damon, Joseph Aviles and Mark Berraciol, while suffering a lone defeat to John Howard. Charlie Brenneman will be entering the fight riding a six fight winning streak, which has lasted over a year. Charlie Brenneman will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with five victories coming by knockout. Jason High will also be making his UFC debut in this fight, but has also competed in the DREAM promotion. While in the DREAM promotion, Jason High defeated Yuya Shirai and Andre Galvao, while suffering a lone defeat to Marius Zaromskis. Jason High also competed in the final Affliction MMA event, suffering a defeat to Jay Hieron by knockout. Gerald “Hurricane” Harris (14-2-0) vs. Mario Miranda (9-0-0)

Gerald Harris is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated John Salter in his UFC debut at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 20. Gerald Harris also competed in the International Fight League, suffering defeats to Benji Radach and Fabio Leopaldo. Gerald Harris will be entering the fight riding an eight fight winning streak, which has currently lasted over two years. Gerald Harris is a fighter who is comfortable wherever the fight ends up, with twelve victories coming by knockout and submission. Mario Miranda is an undefeated fighter who will be making his UFC debut, but he is a veteran of the Carnage At The Creek promotion. While in Carnage At The Creek, Mario Miranda had the duo of defeated Joe Vedepo and Michael Hayes. Mario Miranda will be riding a nine fight undefeated streak into the fight, which has currently lasted over three years. Mario Miranda will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with four victories coming by knockout.

Yushin “Thunder” Okami (23-5-0) vs. Lucio “Spartan” Linhares (13-5-0)

Yushin Okami has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Alan Belcher, Kalib Starnes, Rory Singer, Mike Swick, Jason MacDonald, Evan Tanner and Dean Lister, while suffering defeats to Rich Franklin and Chael Sonnen. Prior to entering the UFC in late 2006, Yushin Okami had defeated current UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva at a Rumble On The Rock event. Yushin Okami started off his MMA career in impressive fashion, with a six fight undefeated streak that lasted over a year. Yushin Okami will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with eight victories coming by knockout. Lucio Linhares has had an unsuccessful run in the UFC, suffering a defeat to Rousimar Palhares in his UFC debut at UFC 107. Lucio Linhares is a veteran of the M-1 Challenge promotion, where he defeated Moyses Gabin, Karl Amoussou, Kamil Uygun, Valdir Araujo and Mikhail Zayats, while suffering defeats to Hyun Gyu Lim and Mikhail Zayats. Prior to entering the UFC in late 2009, Lucio Linhares had defeated UFC veteran Sean Salmon at a Fight Festival event. Caol “Uno Shoten” Uno (25-12-5) vs. Gleison Tibau (20-6-0)

Caol Uno has had an unsuccessful run in the UFC, defeating Fabiano Iha, Yves Edwards and Din Thomas, while suffering defeats to Jens Pulver, BJ Penn, Hermes Franca and Spencer Fisher. Outside of the UFC, Caol Uno has primarily competed in Japan, for promotions like Shooto, K-1 and DREAM. Caol Uno hasn’t won a fight in well over a year, with his last victory coming over Mitsuhiro Ishida at DREAM 3 in May 2008. Rob Emerson has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Keita Nakamura, Manny Gamburyan and Phillipe Nover, while suffering defeats to Kurt Pellegrino and Rafael Dos Anjos. Rob Emerson began his UFC run in auspicious fashion, fighting Gray Maynard to a no contest at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 5 Finale after a takedown gone wrong. Nik Lentz has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Rafaello Oliveira, while fighting Thiago Tavares to a draw. Nik Lentz is also a veteran of the EFX MMA promotion, where he defeated Derek Abram, Kenneth Allen, Chris Powers, Carey Vanier, Vern Jefferson, Duran Barlow and Gabe Wallbridge, while suffering a lone defeat to Brian Green. Jacob “Christmas” Volkmann (9-2-0) vs. Ronys “Jungle Boy” Torres (14-2-0)

Jacob Volkmann has had an unsuccessful run in the UFC, suffering defeats to Paulo Thiago and Martin Kampmann. Jacob Volkmann also competed in the Max Fights promotion, where he defeated both Wayne Hajicek and Travis McCullough. Jacob Volkmann also competed in the inaugural season of the Bellator Fighting Championships, where he defeated Kevin Knabjian. Andre Winner (10-3-1) vs. Rafaello “Tractor” Oliveira (10-2-0)

Andre Winner has had an interesting run in the UFC, defeating Roli Delgado and suffering a defeat to Ross Pearson. Andre Winner also competed in the Cage Warriors Fighting Championship promotion, where he defeated Paul Cooper, Daniel Thomas and AJ Wrenn, while suffering defeats to Greg Loughran and Bendy Casimir. Andre Winner entered the UFC after being a contestant on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 9, which was won by Ross Pearson. Andre Winner will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with three wins coming by way of submission. Rafaello Oliveira has had an interesting run in the UFC, defeating John Gunderson and suffering a defeat to Nik Lentz. Rafaello Oliveira briefly competed in the Elite XC promotion, suffering a defeat to Lyle Beerbohm by TKO. Rafaello Oliveira started off his MMA career in impressive fashion, with a six fight undefeated streak that had lasted nearly four years. Rafaello Oliveira is a fighter who is comfortable wherever the fight ends up, with six victories coming by knockout and submission.
