PREVIEWING THE UFC 112: INVINCIBLE PRELIMINARY CARD

Jon Madsen (4-0-0) vs. Mostapha Al-Turk (6-5-0)

Jon Madsen is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated Justin Wren at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale. Jon Madsen also competed at The Cage Incorporated promotion, defeating both Waylon Goldsmith and Ryan Kotzea. Jon Madsen will be entering the fight riding a four fight undefeated streak, which has currently lasted nearly two years. Jon Madsen will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with two victories coming by knockout. Mostapha Al-Turk has had an unsuccessful run in the UFC, losing to Cheick Kongo and Mirko Cro Cop. Mostapha Al-Turk is a longtime veteran of the Cage Rage promotion, where he defeated Fereidoun Naghizadeh, Martin Thompson, Henry Miller, Mark Kerr, Gary Turner and James McSweeney, while suffering a lone defeat to Tengiz Tedoradze. Of his eleven professional MMA fights, only one has gone to a decision for Mostapha Al-Turk, which speaks to the fighters finishing abilities. Paul “Tellys” Kelly (9-2-0) vs. Matt Veach (11-1-0)

Paul Kelly has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Paul Taylor, Troy Mandaloniz and Roli Delgado, while suffering defeats to Marcus Davis and Dennis Siver. Despite competing in the UFC for over two years, Paul Kelly has never fought for the promotion in North America, only competing in England and Ireland. Paul Kelly started off his MMA career in impressive fashion, with a seven fight undefeated streak that had lasted over three years. Paul Kelly will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with four victories coming by knockout. Matt Veach has had an interesting run in the UFC, defeating Matt Grice and suffering a defeat to Frankie Edgar. Prior to suffering the defeat to Frankie Edgar, Matt Veach was riding an eleven fight undefeated streak that had lasted three years. Matt Veach had also competed in the Iowa Challenge promotion, defeating Marcus Hermann and Edgar Wade. DaMarques Johnson (10-7-0) vs. “Bad” Brad Blackburn (15-10-1)

DaMarques Johnson has had an interesting run in the UFC, defeating Edgar Garcia and suffering a defeat to James Wilks. DaMarques Johnson is a veteran of the Ultimate Combat Experience promotion, where he defeated Tim Panter, Harold Lucambio, Hank Weiss and William Layton, while suffering defeats to Justin Wright and Court McGee. DaMarques Johnson made it to the finals of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 9, but lost to James Wilks in the finals. DaMarques Johnson will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with five victories coming by way of submission. Brad Blackburn has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating James Giboo, Ryo Chonnan and Edgar Garcia, while suffering a lone defeat to Amir Sadollah. Brad Blackburn has also competed in the International Fight League, defeating Gustavo Muchado, Chris Wilson, Jay Hieron and Delson Heleno, while suffering defeats to Rory Markham and Mark Miller. Prior to entering the UFC in mid-2008, Brad Blackburn had fought UFC veteran Roger Huerta at a International Fighting Championship event. Brad Blackburn will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with eight victories coming by knockout.

“Slick” Nick Osipczak (5-0-0) vs. Rick “The Horror” Story (9-3-0)

Nick Osipczak has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating both Frank Lester and Matthew Riddle in UFC competition. Nick Osipczak also fought in the FX3 MMA promotion, defeating both Brendan Flanagan and Nigel Whitear. Nick Osipczak will be entering the fight riding a five fight undefeated streak, which has currently lasted over two years. Nick Osipczak will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with three victories coming by way of submission. Rick Story has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Brian Foster and Jesse Lennox, while suffering a lone defeat to John Hathaway. Prior to entering the UFC in mid-2009, Rick Story defeated UFC veteran Jake Ellenberger at a Sport Fight event. Paul Taylor has had an unsuccessful run in the UFC, defeating Edilberto De Oliveira, Jess Liaudin and Peter Sobotta, while suffering defeats to Marcus Davis, Paul Kelly, Chris Lytle and John Hathaway. Paul Taylor also competed in the Cage Rage promotion, defeating Jess Liaudin, while fighting Matt Ewin to a draw. Despite competing in the UFC for over three years, Paul Taylor has never fought for the promotion in North America, only competing in England and Ireland. Paul Taylor will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with five victories coming by knockout. John Gunderson has had an unsuccessful run in the UFC, suffering a defeat to Rafaello Oliveira in his UFC debut. John Gunderson also competed in the International Fight League, defeating Josh Odom and Gabriel Casillas, while suffering defeats to Bart Palaszewski, Wagney Fabiano and Ryan Schultz. Alexander Gustafsson has also competed at The Zone FC promotion, defeating both Farbod Fadami and Pedro Quetglas. Alexander Gustafsson will be entering the fight riding a nine fight undefeated streak, which has currently lasted over two years. Alexander Gustafsson will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with seven victories coming by knockout. Phil Davis is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated Brian Stann in his UFC debut at UFC 109. Phil Davis also competed in the Palace Fighting Championships, defeating Josh Green by way of knockout. Phil Davis will be entering the fight riding a five fight undefeated streak, which has lasted well over a year.
