Is Smackdown Made of LEGOS? So, I’m sure many of you are wondering why I’m talking about LEGOS, REALLY?! This is what I think of Smackdown this week, and here is why I say it’s made of LEGOs. Smackdown has been the building blocks of the company and it was evidenced a lot in this week’s episode. You see a few good storylines being fleshed out that are helping to build some people up and not just some new guys. Let me just go from the beginning and say that WWE has done good thing in the past few weeks to build up Kane. I can’t tell you how long I have been so disinterested in Kane as a character. It has literally been years and honestly I would fast forward my DVR every time I saw him on TV. This guy has been stale and the same thing over and over for a while now. However, in the past few weeks we have seen almost a different person behind the character. The Undertaker gets injured and Kane steps up and he has stepped it up big time! I am actually in love with the Kane segments the past few weeks starting with his great promo when he announced what happened to the Undertaker. I could even see this being Kane’s big run, and I can now see him in the World title picture. Now, let’s take a look at the Gatekeepers. So, we have Curt Hawkins and Lance….I mean Vance Archer as a team and these guys have been around for a while. Curt made a little name for himself as one of the Edge heads and Vance had a feud with Shelton on ECW. Well, they haven’t really done much for a while, but they had these guys make an impact. The way they did this was incredibly smart in my eyes. So, you have two guys who the majority of the fans will either have no idea who they are or pass them off as flunkies and you have them attack two established upper midcard guys who get great reactions from the fans. This does two things for these guys: first, you get them easy heat by beating up two guys that the fans already love. Secondly, Christian and MVP are both good to great workers in the ring and those guys can hopefully help teach Hawkins and Archer a thing or two that they are missing and maybe make them better in the process. This may seem like some miniscule in the whole scheme of things on the roster, but I think this could definitely help these guys and at least bring these guys up a notch. We also have one of the biggest heels in not just the company, but in wrestling coming out to manage a midcarder who is kind of floating around not doing much. Vickie Guerrero comes out to introduce Dolph Ziggler and that’s a good thing for him. I think she could help build him up as a credible heel and they’ve already done a good job getting his sleeper hold over. In 2010, did you ever think you would see the sleeper as a devastating finisher? Yeah, I didn’t either! Lastly, and this is a storyline I have really been enjoying. I am actually like the whole McIntyre angle. The guy comes in as the golden egg to Mr. Mahon’s golden goose and that gives him instant heat. They have do questionable things to make our good and fair Teddy Long use his power against him, and he gets shot down by McMahon for doing his job! He beats the crap out of Matt Hardy who is loved by many and when Hardy tried to fight back he gets suspended for basically defending his own honor. He screws Kofi Kingston out of the Intercontinental title, and he then gets screwed out of it himself by Matt Hardy who has shown a bit more fire in this storyline than he has in a while. This could be great not only for McIntyre, but it could be a step back up the ladder for Hardy and for Kingston. I see this is as a win so far, and hopefully it goes somewhere good. Don’t drop this ball WWE!
