Strikeforce Lightweight Division Fight
Ryan Couture (0-0-0) vs. Lucas Stark (0-0-0)
Ryan Couture will not only be making his Strikeforce debut in this fight, but his professional MMA debut in this fight as well. Ryan Couture is the son of UFC Hall Of Fame member Randy Couture, who is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion and UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. Ryan Couture went undefeated in his amateur MMA career, which was five MMA fights in total since 2009. Ryan Couture will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with all of his amateur MMA wins coming by submission. Lucas Stark will also be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but did compete in five amateur MMA fights. Lucas Stark had the majority of his amateur MMA fights in the Rage In The Cage promotion, winning two of his four fights in the promotion. Lucas Stark has competed in an MMA fight of any kind in nearly nine months, so cage rust can become a factor in the fight. Lucas Stark is a fighter known for taking fights the distance, with all of his victories coming by way of decision.
My Prediction: Ryan Couture
Strikeforce Middleweight Division Fight
Joe “Diesel†Riggs (32-11-0) vs. Louis “Handgunz†Taylor (6-1-0)
Joe Riggs has had an interesting run in Strikeforce, defeating Eugene Jackson, Luke Stewart and Phil Baroni, while suffering defeats to Cory Devela, Kazou Misaki and Jay Hieron. Joe Riggs also had a decent run in the UFC, defeating Chris Lytle, Nick Diaz and Jason Von Flue, while suffering defeats to Ivan Salaverry, Matt Hughes, Mike Swick and Diego Sanchez. Joe Riggs is easily the most experienced fight competing on this card, having been a professional MMA fight for nearly nine years. It has been nearly eight months since Joe Riggs last competed in an MMA fight, so cage rust can become a factor in the fight. Joe Riggs will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with fifteen victories coming by knockout. Louis Taylor is currently winless in Strikeforce competition, suffering a defeat to Nate Moore at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers. Louis Taylor recently competed in the Bellator Fighting Championships, defeating Ryan Sturdy by knockout. Of his seven professional MMA fights, only one has gone to a decision for Louis Taylor, which speaks to the fighters finishing abilities. Louis Taylor will be entering the fight riding a two fight winning streak, which has lasted over seven months. Louis Taylor will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with four victories coming by knockout.
My Prediction: Joe Riggs
