* Strikeforce Lightweight Division Fight: KJ Noons vs. Jorge Gurgel

* Strikeforce Heavyweight Division Fight: Bobby Lashley vs. Chad Griggs

Here are the preliminary fight results…

* Artenas Young def. Chad Cook by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-27)

* Chad Robichaux def. Humberto DeLeon by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

* Reynaldo Trujillo def. Jose Santibanez by TKO via strikes (R1)

* Adam Schindler def. Kier Gooch by submission via rear naked choke (R1)

* Vinicius Magalhaes def. Rocky Long by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)

* Andre Galvao def. Jorge Patino by TKO via strikes (R3)

* Daniel Cormier def. Jason Riley by TKO via strikes (R1)

Gus Johnson welcomes viewers to the event before introducing Mauro Ranallo and Frank Shamrock, who go over tonight’s card.

Fight #1 - Strikeforce Heavyweight Division Fight

Bobby Lashley (5-0-0) vs. Chad Griggs (8-1-0)

Referee: Jon Schorle

Round One

The round begins with Bobby Lashley quickly scoring a takedown on Chad Griggs and getting half guard, Bobby Lashley moves to side control on Chad Griggs. Bobby Lashley then attacks Chad Griggs with some light ground and pound, the fighters get back to their feet and Bobby Lashley scores another takedown and gets half guard. The fighters go back to the feet again and Chad Griggs hits Bobby Lashley with a knee strike, the referee separates the fighters after inactivity and Bobby Lashley scores a takedown on Chad Griggs and gets half guard as the round ends.

Round Two

The round begins with Bobby Lashley scoring a huge takedown on Chad Griggs and gets half guard, Bobby Lashley advances to side control on Chad Griggs. Bobby Lashley moves to full mount on Chad Griggs, Bobby Lashley starts attacking Chad Griggs with some violent ground and pound. The referee separates the fighters after inactivity so the doctor can check the cut on Bobby Lashley, the fight resumes with Chad Griggs blocking a Bobby Lashley takedown attempt. Chad Griggs attacks Bobby Lashley with hammer fists until the round ends.

Following the end of the round, the referee determines that Bobby Lashley has taken enough and calls the fight.

Fight Result: Chad Griggs def. Bobby Lashley by TKO via referee stoppage (5:00, R2)

Post fight interview with Chad Griggs, who says this fight is the best day of his life and he felt that Bobby Lashley was getting tired.

Herschel Walker, Dan Henderson, Cung Le, Evangelista Santos and Cristiane Santos were shown in the crowd.

Cageside interview with Luke Rockhold, who says he is honored to be fighting Matt Lindland in October and picks Tim Kennedy to win the upcoming middleweight title fight.

Fight #2 - Strikeforce Lightweight Division Fight

KJ Noons (8-1-0) vs. Jorge Gurgel (13-6-0)

Round One

The round begins with Jorge Gurgel nailing KJ Noons with a straight right, Jorge Gurgel just barely grazes KJ Noons with a head kick. KJ Noons then hits an incoming Jorge Gurgel with a two punch combination, KJ Noons then hits Jorge Gurgel with a punch to the body. KJ Noons then hit’s a charging Jorge Gurgel with an uppercut, Jorge Gurgel continues to attack KJ Noons with leg kicks. KJ Noons responds by hitting Jorge Gurgel with leg kicks of his own, Jorge Gurgel barely misses a flying knee strike on KJ Noons. KJ Noons then nails Jorge Gurgel with a right and then a left hook, KJ Noons hits Jorge Gurgel with a head kick as the round ends.

Round Two

The round begins with KJ Noons dropping Jorge Gurgel with a two punch combination, KJ Noons follows it up with ground and pound until the referee stops the fight. There was a bit of controversy at the end of the fight as KJ Noons hit Jorge Gurgel with an illegal knee strike as the fight was stopped.

Fight Result: KJ Noons def. Jorge Gurgel by TKO via strikes (0:19, R2)

Post fight interview with KJ Noons, who says that Jorge Gurgel is a great fighter and he returned to MMA because he loves the sport.

Fight #3 - Strikeforce Middleweight Title Decision Fight

Tim Kennedy (12-2-0) vs. Ronaldo Souza (12-2-0-1NC)

Referee: John McCarthy

Round One

The round begins with Ronaldo Souza hitting Tim Kennedy with a push kick, Ronaldo Souza then catches Tim Kennedy with a right. Ronaldo Souza then catches Tim Kennedy with a counter leg kick, Tim Kennedy then nails Ronaldo Souza with two overhand rights. Tim Kennedy then catches Ronaldo Souza with an outside leg kick, Ronaldo Souza responds by hitting Tim Kennedy with a leg kick of his own. Tim Kennedy then drops Ronaldo Souza with a left, the fighters get up and Tim Kennedy hits Ronaldo Souza with a leg kick as the round ends.

Round Two

The round begins with Tim Kennedy nailing Ronaldo Souza with a two punch combination, Ronaldo Souza catches Tim Kennedy with a straight right. Tim Kennedy then catches Ronaldo Souza with a solid left hook, Tim Kennedy then catches Ronaldo Souza with a punch/kick combination. Ronaldo Souza then catches an incoming Tim Kennedy with a two punch combination, Tim Kennedy responds by hitting Ronaldo Souza with a push kick to the leg. Tim Kennedy follows it up by hitting Ronaldo Souza with a superman punch, Ronaldo Souza hits Tim Kennedy with a push kick to the head as the round ends.

Round Three

The round begins with both fighters throwing wild punches at each other, Tim Kennedy then catches Ronaldo Souza with as few short knee strikes. Tim Kennedy then nails Ronaldo Souza with an outside leg kick, Ronaldo Souza responds by hitting Tim Kennedy with a looping left. Ronaldo Souza follows it up by nailing Tim Kennedy with a push kick, Tim Kennedy then scores a takedown on Ronaldo Souza and he gets the guard. The fighters get back up and Ronaldo Souza hits Tim Kennedy with a short right, Tim Kennedy hits Ronaldo Souza with a leg kick as the round ends.

Round Four

The round begins with Tim Kennedy resuming his leg kick attack on Ronaldo Souza, Tim Kennedy then nails Ronaldo Souza with a counter right. Tim Kennedy then nails Ronaldo Souza with a punch/kick combination, Ronaldo Souza recovers by hitting Tim Kennedy with two straight lefts. Tim Kennedy blocks a Ronaldo Souza takedown attempt with a knee strike, Tim Kennedy then catches Ronaldo Souza with a wild right. Tim Kennedy accidentally hits Ronaldo Souza with a kick to the testicles and the fight is briefly halted, the fight resumes with Ronaldo Souza hitting Tim Kennedy with a push kick as the round ends.

Round Five

The round begins with Tim Kennedy nailing Ronaldo Souza with a leaping left, Tim Kennedy follows it up by hitting Ronaldo Souza with a left hook. Ronaldo Souza then catches a charging Tim Kennedy with a right, Ronaldo Souza then hit’s a Tim Kennedy with another right during a takedown attempt. Tim Kennedy returns to using leg kicks on Ronaldo Souza, Tim Kennedy follows it up by hitting Ronaldo Souza with a body kick. Tim Kennedy then blocks a Ronaldo Souza takedown attempt with a knee strike, Ronaldo Souza then gets back control on Tim Kennedy from out of nowhere. Tim Kennedy escapes the position and Ronaldo Souza nails Tim Kennedy with a two punch combination, Tim Kennedy scores a takedown on Ronaldo Souza as the round ends.

Fight Result: Ronaldo Souza def. Tim Kennedy by unanimous decision (49-46, 48-47, 48-47)

Post fight interview with Ronaldo Souza, who says Tim Kennedy is a warrior and he is stoked to be a champion. Post fight interview with Tim Kennedy, who says he has no idea what happened and it was a frustrating fight.

Main Event - Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Title Fight

King Mo (7-0-0) (Champion) vs. Rafael Cavalcante (9-2-0)

Referee: John McCarthy

Round One

The round begins with Rafael Cavalcante charging at King Mo with strikes, King Mo then attacks Rafael Cavalcante with short knee strikes. King Mo then power slams Rafael Cavalcante to the ground, the fighters quickly get back up and Rafael Cavalcante hits King Mo with a spinning elbow. Rafael Cavalcante starts peppering King Mo with some jabs, Rafael Cavalcante catches a charging King Mo with an uppercut. Rafael Cavalcante then catches King Mo with a knee strike to the head, Rafael Cavalcante catches King Mo with a leg kick as the round ends.

Round Two

The round begins with Rafael Cavalcante nailing King Mo with hard leg kicks, Rafael Cavalcante then catches a backing King Mo with a head kick. King Mo scores a takedown on Rafael Cavalcante and gets back control, the fighters get back up and Rafael Cavalcante hits King Mo with an elbow strike. King Mo then attacks Rafael Cavalcante with multiple punches to the body, King Mo then starts peppering Rafael Cavalcante with some jabs. King Mo resumes his attack on the body of Rafael Cavalcante as the round ends.

Round Three

The round begins with Rafael Cavalcante rocking King Mo with a straight right, Rafael Cavalcante then nails King Mo with three knee strikes. Rafael Cavalcante then drops King Mo with a right to the head, Rafael Cavalcante then attacks King Mo with ground and pound. Rafael Cavalcante follows it up by hitting King Mo with a ton of elbow strikes until referee John McCarthy stops the fight.

Fight Result: Rafael Cavalcante def. King Mo by TKO via elbow strikes (1:14, R3)

Post fight interview with Rafael Cavalcante, who says he has a new coach who has helped him with striking and he thanks his team for helping him get the victory. Post fight interview with King Mo, who says he needs to make some future adjustments and he will come back stronger.
