THE WRINGER REVIEWS A “DOESN’T LOOK A DAY OLDER THAN 800” EPISODE OF RAW – AUGUST 24, 2010

By Michael LeBlanc on 8/24/2010 10:34 AM

Is it an embarrassment or a badge of honor (or both) for a kid to get picked on by a WWE Superstar?

So the Anonymous GM’s e-mail address is now public knowledge among the wrestlers (who seem able to contact him now at will)?

Isn’t “watching” and “observing” the same thing?

Wow, the GM is now building pauses into his e-mails, giving guys a chance to respond to him live?

So Raw has had as many episodes as Yoda had years of life? Impressive, that is!

Well, I finally agree with Cole on something – why does R-Truth do a split mid-match, and for no apparent reason?

Why haven’t WWE-PG deemphasized Edge’s “Rated R” moniker?

Hey, Cole, I’d take a “screamer” any day of the week!

When, exactly, was Melina’s “back against the wall” tonight?

OK, you mean Lay-Cool actually, literally split the Women’s Title belt?! Huh?

Miz promos = Fantastic!

Why did Santino act like Tamina shot a muscle-relaxing dart at his cheek?

Ted DiBiase suddenly gets a main event match on Raw?

What is with Orton’s “King Kong”-like arm waving?!

Is that the latest in the evening Zach Ryder has ever been used in his time with WWE?

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Raw was a decent show tonight. The concept was good, and the surprise of picking Zach Ryder for his title match tonight was good, even if the outcome was never in doubt. I enjoyed the Khali-Jericho match, as it was better than it ever had a right to be, and Miz-Cena was good as well.
