Shark Fights Welterweight Division Fight

Tarec “Sponge” Saffiedine (9-2-0) vs. Brock Larson (29-4-0)

Tarec Saffiedine will be making his Shark Fights debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of the Strikeforce promotion. While in Strikeforce, Tarec Saffiedine went undefeated with victories over both James Terry and Nate Moore. Tarec Saffiedine also competed in the DREAM promotion, defeating Seichi Ikemoto and suffering a defeat to Dong Sik Yoon. Tarec Saffiedine will be entering the fight riding a two fight winning streak, which has lasted over six months. Tarec Saffiedine will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with five victories coming by way of submission. Brock Larson will also be making his Shark Fights debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of the World Extreme Cagefighting promotion. While in the WEC, Brock Larson defeated Erik Apple, Kevin Knabjian, John Alessio and Carlo Prater, while suffering a long defeat to Carlos Condit. Brock Larson also competed in the UFC, defeating Keita Nakamura, Jesse Sanders and Mike Pyle, while suffering defeats to Jon Fitch, Mike Pierce and Brian Foster. “Smokin” Joey Villasenor (27-7-0) vs. Danillo “Indio” Villefort (11-3-0)

Joey Villasenor will be making his Shark Fights debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of the Elite XC promotion. While in Elite XC, Joey Villasenor defeated David Louiseau, Riki Fukuda and Phil Baroni, while suffering a lone defeat to Murilo Rua. Joey Villasenor most recently has been competing in Strikeforce, defeating Ryan Jensen and Evangelista Santos, while suffering a lone defeat to Ronaldo Souza. Joey Villasenor will be looking to end a one fight losing streak, which started in May 2010 at Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery. Joey Villasenor will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with twelve victories coming by knockout. Danillo Villefort will also be making his Shark Fights debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of the World Extreme Cagefighting promotion. While in the WEC, Danillo Villefort defeated Mike Campbell at by TKO in the opening round at WEC 38. Danillo Villefort also competed once in the UFC, suffering a defeat to Jesse Lennox at UFC 101 in Philadelphia. Danillo Villefort will be entering the fight riding a two fight winning streak, which has lasted over eleven months. Danillo Villefort is a fighter who is comfortable wherever the fight ends up, with ten victories coming by knockout and submission.

Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal (20-5-0) vs. Paul “Semtex” Daley (24-9-2)

Jorge Masvidal will be making his Shark Fights debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of the Bellator Fighting Championships. While in the Bellator Fighting Championships, Jorge Masvidal defeated both Nick Agallar and Eric Reynolds, while suffering a lone defeat to Toby Imada. Jorge Masvidal also competed once in Strikeforce, defeating Ryan Healy at Strikeforce: Strikeforce At The Dome. Jorge Masvidal started off his MMA career in impressive fashion, with a five fight undefeated streak that had lasted nearly a year. Jorge Masvidal will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with ten victories coming by knockout. Paul Daley will also be making his Shark Fights debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of UFC competition. While in the UFC, Paul Daley defeated both Dustin Hazelett and Martin Kampmann, while suffering a lone defeat to Josh Koscheck. Paul Daley was ousted from the UFC after a controversial illegal punch after his fight with Josh Koscheck ended at UFC 113. This fight against Jorge Masvidal will mark the first time Paul Daley has had an MMA fight in North America following his UFC 113 controversy. Paul Daley will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with eighteen victories coming by knockout.

Rameau Thierry “The African Assassin” Sokoudjou (9-6-0) vs. Houston “The Assassin” Alexander (10-6-0)

Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou will be making his Shark Fights debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of UFC competition. While in the UFC, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou defeated Kazuhiro Nakamura, while suffering defeats to Lyoto Machida and Luiz Cane. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou also competed in DREAM, defeating both Jan Nortje and Bob Sapp, both in the DREAM Super Hulk Tournament. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou will be entering the fight riding a two fight winning streak, which has lasted over three months. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with seven victories coming by knockout. Houston Alexander will also be making his Shark Fights debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of UFC competition. While in the UFC, Houston Alexander defeated Keith Jardine and Alessio Sakara, while suffering defeats to Thiago Silva, James Irvin, Eric Schafer and Kimbo Slice. Trevor Prangley is currently undefeated in Shark Fights competition, with a victory over Marcus Sursa at Shark Fights 7. Trevor Prangley also competed in Strikeforce, defeating Anthony Ruiz, and Falaniko Vitale, while suffering defeats to Jorge Santiago and Tim Kennedy. It has been nearly a year since Trevor Prangley competed in Shark Fights, with his last appearance coming in November 2009. Trevor Prangley started off his MMA career in impressive fashion, with a six fight undefeated streak that had lasted nearly two years. Trevor Prangley will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with nine victories coming by way of submission. Keith Jardine will be making his Shark Fights debut in this fight, but he is a longtime veteran of the UFC. While in the UFC, Keith Jardine defeated Kerry Schall, Mike Whitehead, Wilson Gouveia, Forrest Griffin, Chuck Liddell and Brandon Vera, while suffering defeats to Stephan Bonnar, Houston Alexander, Wanderlei Silva, Quinton Jackson, Thiago Silva, Ryan Bader and Matt Hamill. Keith Jardine was a contestant on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 2, which was won by both Rashad Evans and Joe Stevenson. Keith Jardine will be entering the fight trying to end a four fight losing streak, which has lasted well over a year.
