Jim Miller also competed in the International Fight League, defeating Bart Palaszewski by unanimous decision. Efrain Escudero entered the UFC after winning the UFC Ultimate Fighter 8, which was also won by Ryan Bader. Efrain Escudero also competed in the Rage In The Cage promotion, defeating Chris Collado, Joe Cronin, Mike Smith, Nic Stone, Jose Rodriquez, Peter Newsheller and Eric Regan. Efrain Escudero enters this fight riding a one fight winning streak, which began in May 2010 at UFC 114. Efrain Escudero will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with nine victories coming by way of submission. Charles Oliveira is currently undefeated in UFC competition, with a victory over Darren Elkins at UFC On Versus II. Nate Marquardt has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Ivan Salaverry, Joe Doerkson, Crafton Wallace, Dean Lister, Jeremy Horn, Martin Kampmann, Wilson Gouveia and Damien Maia, while suffering defeats to Anderson Silva, Thales Leitas and Chael Sonnen. Nate Marquardt, along with Chris Leben, Patrick Cote, Stephan Bonnar, Nate Quarry, Josh Koscheck and Mike Swick are the only people left on the UFC roster who competed at the very first UFC Ultimate Fight Night event. Nate Marquardt has already challenged once for the UFC Middleweight Title, losing to Anderson Silva at UFC 73. It has been over a year since Nate Marquardt last won an MMA fight, which was over Damien Maia at UFC 102. Nate Marquardt will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with fifteen victories coming by way of submission. Rousimar Palhares has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Ivan Salaverry, Jeremy Horn, Lucio Linhares and Tomasz Drwal, while suffering a lone defeat to Dan Henderson. Rousimar Palhares also competed in the Fury FC promotion, defeating Flavio Luiz Moura, Fabio Nascimento and Daniel Acacio. Despite competing in professional MMA for over four years, Rousimar Palhares didn’t make his North American MMA debut until UFC 84 in May 2008.
