Cole “Magrinho†Miller (16-4-0) vs. Ross “The Real Deal†Pearson (11-3-0)
Cole Miller has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Andy Wang, Leonard Garcia, Jorge Gurgel, Junie Browning and Dan Lauzon, while suffering defeats to Jeremy Stephens and Efrain Escudero. Cole Miller was a contestant on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 5 reality show, which was eventually won by Nate Diaz. Cole Miller also fought in the Full Throttle promotion, defeating Harris Norwood, Chris Mickle, Tim Honeycutt, Jarett Becks and Joe Germain, while suffering a lone defeat to Josh Odom. Cole Miller will be entering the fight undefeated in 2010, as he defeated Dan Lauzon at UFC 108 in January. Cole Miller will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with eleven victories coming by way of submission. Ross Pearson is currently undefeated in UFC competition, with victories over Andre Winner, Aaron Riley and Dennis Siver. Ross Pearson was one of two winners on the UFC Ultimate fighter 9, the other winner was fellow Englishman, James Wilks. Jim Miller has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating David Baron, Matt Wiman, Mac Danzig, Steve Lopez, Duane Ludwig and Mark Bocek, while suffering a lone defeat to Gray Maynard. Jim Miller is the brother of UFC veteran Dan Miller, who is a competitor in the UFC Middleweight Division. Jim Miller also competed in the International Fight League, defeating Bart Palaszewski by unanimous decision. Jim Miller will be entering the fight riding a four fight winning streak, which has lasted well over a full year. Jim Miller will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with ten MMA victories coming by way of submission. Gleison Tibau has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Jason Dent, Jeff Cox, Terry Etim, Rich Clementi, Josh Neer, Jeremy Stephens and Caol Uno, while suffering defeats to Nick Diaz, Tyson Griffin, Joe Stevenson and Melvin Guillard. Early in his professional MMA career, Gleison Tibau defeated UFC veteran Thiago Alves at a Champions Night event. Gleison Tibau also competed in the Bitetti Combat Nordeste promotion, defeating both Paulo Roberto Nogueira Da Silva Junior and Fernando Terere. Gleison Tibau will be entering the fight riding a two fight winning streak, which has lasted nearly a full year. Efrain Escudero (13-1-0) vs. Charles “Do Bronx†Oliveira (13-0-0)
Efrain Escudero has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Phillipe Nover, Cole Miller and Dan Lauzon, while suffering a lone defeat to Evan Dunham. Efrain Escudero entered the UFC after winning the UFC Ultimate Fighter 8, which was also won by Ryan Bader. Efrain Escudero also competed in the Rage In The Cage promotion, defeating Chris Collado, Joe Cronin, Mike Smith, Nic Stone, Jose Rodriquez, Peter Newsheller and Eric Regan. Efrain Escudero enters this fight riding a one fight winning streak, which began in May 2010 at UFC 114. Efrain Escudero will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with nine victories coming by way of submission. Charles Oliveira is currently undefeated in UFC competition, with a victory over Darren Elkins at UFC On Versus II. Early in his MMA career, Charles Oliveira won the Predator FC Welterweight Grand Prix by defeating Jackson Pontes, Viscardi Andrade and Diego Braga. Despite competing in professional MMA for over two years, Charles Oliveira didn’t make his UFC debut until August 2010 at UFC On Versus II. Nate “The Great†Marquardt (29-9-2) vs. Rousimar “Toquinho†Palhares (11-2-0)
Nate Marquardt has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Ivan Salaverry, Joe Doerkson, Crafton Wallace, Dean Lister, Jeremy Horn, Martin Kampmann, Wilson Gouveia and Damien Maia, while suffering defeats to Anderson Silva, Thales Leitas and Chael Sonnen. Nate Marquardt, along with Chris Leben, Patrick Cote, Stephan Bonnar, Nate Quarry, Josh Koscheck and Mike Swick are the only people left on the UFC roster who competed at the very first UFC Ultimate Fight Night event. Nate Marquardt has already challenged once for the UFC Middleweight Title, losing to Anderson Silva at UFC 73. It has been over a year since Nate Marquardt last won an MMA fight, which was over Damien Maia at UFC 102. Nate Marquardt will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with fifteen victories coming by way of submission. Rousimar Palhares has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Ivan Salaverry, Jeremy Horn, Lucio Linhares and Tomasz Drwal, while suffering a lone defeat to Dan Henderson. Rousimar Palhares also competed in the Fury FC promotion, defeating Flavio Luiz Moura, Fabio Nascimento and Daniel Acacio. Despite competing in professional MMA for over four years, Rousimar Palhares didn’t make his North American MMA debut until UFC 84 in May 2008. Rousimar Palhares will be entering the fight riding a three fight winning streak, which has lasted well over a year. Rousimar Palhares will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with eight victories coming by way of submission.
