By David Tees on 9/28/2010 6:32 PM
WEC Bantamweight Division Fight

Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson (5-1-0) vs. Nick Pace (5-0-0)

Demetrious Johnson is currently winless in WEC competition, suffering a defeat to Brad Pickett at WEC 48 in April 2010. Demetrious Johnson also competed in the King Of The Cage promotion, defeating Pedro Mercado and Franz Mendez. Of his six professional MMA fights, only one has gone to a decision for Demetrious Johnson, which speaks to the fighters finishing abilities. Demetrious Johnson started off his MMA career in impressive fashion, with a five fight undefeated streak that had lasted over two years. Demetrious Johnson is a fighter who is comfortable wherever the fight ends up, with all of his victories coming by knockout and submission. Nick Pace will be making his WEC debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of the Ring Of Combat promotion. While in Ring Of Combat, Nick Pace defeated Sean Santella, Lennox Chance, Jose Adriano and Steve Deangelis. Nick Pace also competed in the Bellator Fighting Championships promotion, defeating Collin Tebo by knockout. Nick Pace will be entering the fight riding a five fight undefeated streak, which has lasted well over a year. Nick Pace will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with two of his victories coming by way of knockout.

My Prediction: Nick Pace

WEC Bantamweight Division Fight

Antonio Banuelos (17-6-0) vs. Chad “Savage” George (11-5-0)

Antonio Banuelos has had a successful run in the WEC, defeating Mike Lindquist, Ed Tomaselli, James Cottrell, Cole Escovedo, Mike French, Justin Robbins, Scott Jorgensen and Kenji Osawa, while suffering defeats Jeff Bedard, Eddie Wineland, Charlie Valencia, Manny Tapia and Scott Jorgensen. Antonio Banuelos is also part of WEC history, as his encounter with Scott Jorgensen at WEC 48 was the first ever fight on a WEC pay-per-view. In the last four years, Antonio Banuelos has only fought once outside of the WEC, which was a victory over Bryan Goldsby at a Palace Fighting Championships event. Antonio Banuelos started off his MMA career in impressive fashion, fighting three times in three months. Antonio Banuelos will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with seven victories coming by submission. Chad George has had an interesting run in the WEC, defeating John Hosman and suffering a defeat to Scott Jorgensen.
