Andre Galvao is currently undefeated in Strikeforce competition, having defeated the duo of Luke Stewart and Jorge Patino. Andre Galvao also competed overseas in the DREAM promotion, defeating John Alessio and suffering a defeat to Jason High. It has been less than two months since Andre Galvao last competed in an MMA fight, so conditioning could become a factor. Andre Galvao will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with three victories coming by way of submission. Tyron Woodley is currently undefeated in Strikeforce competition, having defeated Sal Woods, Zach Light, Rudy Bears and Nathan Coy. Of his eight professional MMA fights, only one has gone to a decision for Tyron Woodley, which speaks to the fighters finishing abilities.
