DID WWE JUST PULL A CONNECTICUT SCREWJOB??

By Craig DeBoard on 10/27/2010 3:11 PM

To Vince McMahon and WWE Fans alike:

Vince McMahon first attacked liberal media (or what he believes is "liberal media" for their coverage on his wife's senate campaign. For Vince I have two words:

Stop. Crying.

That's politics. If it's too much for you and Linda, drop out. That's how the world outside of WWE works. I know that's hard to grasp, and I sincerely believe that you have a hard time grasping that concept due to your constant 24/7 work ethic (which is to be admired) with WWE and being trapped in the WWE bubble, but it is how the world works. I don't hear you attacking Fox News for their biased coverage of Richard Blumenthal, so let's just call a spade a spade. You don't like people taking shots at your wife.

But whatever, you're entitled to your opinion.....BUT SO IS EVERYONE ELSE.

And I personally am of the opinion that you are using the loyalty WWE fans have shown your company for years (in my case for 30 years and for some people, even longer), for your own greedy ways.

Vince made the statement that Connecticut Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz tried to not allow voters to vote and/or wear WWE merchandise to the polls. Not only is their NOT ONE SHRED OF EVIDENCE that proves this to be true, but it also made me a bit curious why a public official would make such an outlandish statement.

So I did some digging on Secretary Bysiewicz.

Guess what I discovered on WWE'S OWN WEBSITE.

Secretary Bysiewicz has some past history with WWE.

Read here---> http://www.wwe.com/inside/overtheropes/news/sdyvapril09

and even more importantly, read here ---> http://www.ct.gov/sots/cwp/view.asp?a=3189&Q=392738

When asked about not allowing voters to wear WWE merchandise, Bysiewicz denied ever making such a statement. Even Richard Blumenthal, Lida's opponent said that voters should be able to wear WWE Merchandise.

So if this is all bunk (and it certainly sounds like it, considering Bysiewicz has been a friend of the McMahon's for almost 10 years, and considering even Blumenthal is "Standing Up for WWE") then how did this get started?

WWE is in the business of telling stories. And a much similar story was told one time. In the similar story, Vince screwed over a loyal friend to further his own financial agenda. That story was called the Montreal Screwjob.

In this story, Vince is screwing over another loyal friend. This story is called the Connecticut Screwjob.

So why would Vince screw over Bysiewicz?

Well, he can't come right out and attack Blumenthal. To do so would mean that he's admitting to the world WWE has a Republican bias. Everyone already knows they do (as they tried this EXACT SAME PLOY REGARDING WWE MERCHANDISE WORN AT POLLS IN 2008 WHEN OBAMA WON).

So he can't attack Blumenthal. If he does, not only does that kill his Smackdown Your Vote initiative, but it also scares away a large amount of Democrat voters from his company. One of the largest demographics of the Smackdown audience is Hispanic. And if 2008 is any indication, the Hispanic vote is VERY important.

So who else can be attacked?

Bysiewicz.

She's the Secretary of State and closest to the election outside of people actually running. She also has the authority to make such a ruling as well. She's not in the public eye very much so she won't have much sympathy from voters, and most importantly, her two attempts at planning to run as Attorney General (and any potential third attempts) will be completely squashed faster than a Barry Horowitz match.

So why would Vince do this?

Up until this point Linda's poll numbers were all over the place. One week she was down several points. The next week she was closing in on Blumenthal. The next week she was caught up to him again. The next week she was down again.

But once this story hit......well Linda has locked herself in to being only a point or two below Blumenthal (depending on which poll you read). One point is well within the margin of error.

Vince essentially gave that extra boost Linda needed, all at the low low price of just the loyalty of WWE fans.

So lets recap. There's no actual evidence of the Secretary of State making such statements (except for after all of this, she said that while no one would be banned from voting, if someone's clothing caused problems such as violence or voter intimidation, they would be asked to cover it up.....this is MORE THAN REASONABLE.) So there's no evidence. She worked with WWE for years. Linda was down in the polls until this happened.

A perfect plan, all except for one small tiny detail.

WWE forgot to remove the page from their own site stating that the Secretary of State actually enjoys WWE and working with them from a year ago.

So how should WWE fans take this?

Well for me personally, I knew posting this would probably either 1. just get ignored and eventually buried by the mounds and mounds of pro-Cena, anti-Cena, Nexus threads, or 2. some idiots will respond as trolls and what have you thinking they're funny and impressing people they don't even know in real life simply because they're afraid to go out in society and meet real people due to their lack of hygiene. But before deciding to not post all of this, I changed my mind and instead decided to anyways.

Why?

Because I want to play Vince's own game with him.

So Vince, I as a fan, am calling you out right now. Now I know you probably won't read this, as the forums on this site are probably all but forgotten by everyone at WWE except for Corey C, considering there's not even a link to them on the main page. But I still believe this should be said.

If I'm right about all of this, then you owe Susan Bysiewicz a public apology, the WWE fans a public apology, and you also need to talk to your lawyer about the possible jail time you'll do for lying in a federal court when you filed your suit against the Secretary of State.

However, if I'm wrong, and it's very possible that I am because I've been wrong about things in the past, then you good sir, need to explain to WWE why fans have had countless signs confiscated at WWE events when all those fans were doing was using THEIR Freedom of Expression.

So which is it? Am I right, and do you Vince, need to speak with your attorney about you possibly going to prison for lying in a federal court? Or am I wrong and should you apologize to WWE fans and once again allow fans to hold up signs supporting any wrestler or promotion they choose to, as those signs do NOT violate any law in this country?

Which is it Vince. Did you lie in federal court to help your wife's political career? Or are you a hypocrite of the worst sort, trouncing on the loyalty of your fans?

Sincerely,
