PREVIEWING THE WEC 52: FABER VS. MIZUGAKI PRELIMINARY CARD

WEC Featherweight Division Fight

Yves “Tiger” Jabouin (14-6-0) vs. Brandon “The Viper” Visher (13-1-0)

Yves Jabouin is currently winless in WEC competition, having suffered defeats to both Mark Hominick and Raphael Assuncao. Yves Jabouin also competed in the Ultimate Generation Combat promotion, defeating Thierry Quenneville, Rachid Aoudj, Frederic Poirier, Eric Davidson, Chad Hamzeh, Dustin Severs, Eric Lacelle, Antoine Coutu, Daniel Boissoneault and Nayeb Hazem. Prior to entering the WEC in late 2009, Yves Jabouin had fought UFC veteran Sam Stout at a TKO event in mid-2004. Yves Jabouin will be entering the fight riding a two fight losing streak, which has lasted well over a year. Yves Jabouin will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with eleven victories coming by knockout. Cub Swanson (14-4-0) vs. Mackens “Mack Da Menace” Semerzier (5-2-0)

Cub Swanson has had a successful run in the WEC, defeating Tommy Lee, Micah Miller, Hiroyuki Takaya and John Franchi, while suffering defeats to Jens Pulver, Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes. Cub Swanson also competed in the King Of The Cage promotion, defeating Armando Sanchez, Mike Corey, Fernando Arreola, Richard Montano and Charlie Valencia. Cub Swanson has only competed once outside of the WEC in the last three years, which was a victory over Donny Walker at an International Fighting & Boxing League event. Cub Swanson is currently winless in 2010, having suffered a defeat to Chad Mendes at WEC 50 this past Summer. Cub Swanson will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with seven victories coming by way of submission. Mackens Semerzier has had an unsuccessful run in the WEC, defeating Wagney Fabiabo, while suffering defeats to Deividas Taurosevicius and Javier Vazquez. Mackens Semerzier also competed in the Cagefest Xtreme promotion, defeating the duo of Justin Hickey and Jason Hillicker. Mackens Semerzier started off his professional MMA career in impressive fashion, with a five fight undefeated streak that had lasted over two years. Mackens Semerzier will be entering the fight riding a two fight losing streak, which has lasted over nine months. WEC Bantamweight Division Fight

Clint Godfrey (11-2-0) vs. Michael “Mayday” McDonald (10-1-0)

Clint Godfrey is currently winless in WEC competition, having suffered a defeat to Wagney Fabiano at WEC 46. Clint Godfrey had also competed in the Extreme Beatdown promotion, defeating the duo of Zach Wolff and Rich Taylor. Clint Godfrey started off his MMA career in impressive fashion, with a three fight undefeated streak that had lasted three months. Clint Godfrey is currently winless in 2010, having suffered a defeat to the aforementioned Wagney Fabiano at WEC 46. Clint Godfrey will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with six victories coming by way of submission. Michael McDonald will be making his WEC debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of the Gladiator Challenge promotion. While in Gladiator Challenge, Michael McDonald defeated Joe Corona, Dominic Pena, Steve Frano, Javier Vargas, Fernando Arreola and Randy Rodoni. Of his eleven professional MMA fights, none have gone to a decision for Michael McDonald, which speaks to the fighters finishing abilities. Zack Micklewright (7-1-0) vs. Dustin Poirier (7-1-0)

Zack Micklewright has had an interesting run in the WEC, defeating Mushin Corbrrey and suffering a defeat to Bart Palaszewski. Zack Micklewright also competed in the Glory Fighting Championships, defeating Allen Hernandez, Luke Drilling and Jaxson Mason. Zack Micklewright started off his MMA career in impressive fashion, with a seven fight undefeated streak that had lasted over three years. Zack Micklewright is currently winless in 2010, having suffered a defeat to the aforementioned Bart Palaszewski at WEC 50. Zack Micklewright will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with two victories coming by knockout. Dustin Poirier is currently winless in WEC competition, having suffered a defeat to Danny Castillo at WEC 50. Dustin Poirier also competed in the USA MMA promotion, defeating Joe Torrez, Aaron Suarez, Ronnie Lis and Derrick Krantz. Of his eight professional MMA fights, only one has gone to a decision for Dustin Poirier, which speaks to his finishing abilities. Dustin Poirier has had a successful 2010 thus far, winning two of his three professional MMA fights and one victory in the WEC. Anthony Njokuani (12-4-0) vs. Edward “Falo” Faaloloto (2-0-0)

Anthony Njokuani has had an interesting run in the WEC, defeating Bart Palaszewski, Mushin Corbbrey and Chris Horodecki, while suffering defeats to Ben Henderson, Shane Roller and Maciej Jewtuszko. Anthony Njokuani also competed in the Ultimate Texas Showdown promotion, defeating Devon Miller, Ira Boyd and Steven Bratland. Prior to competing in the WEC in early 2009, Anthony Njokuani had fought WEC veteran Donald Cerrone at a Ring Of Fire event. Anthony Njokuani will be entering the fight trying to stop a two fight losing streak, which has lasted over five months. Anthony Njokuani will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with seven victories coming by knockout. Edward Faaloloto will be making his WEC debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of the X-1 MMA promotion. While in the X-1 MMA promotion, Edward Faaloloto defeated the duo of Taylor Cochran and Justin Babbs. Edward Faaloloto will be entering the fight riding a two fight undefeated streak, which has lasted just over a year. Edward Faaloloto recently surpassed the one year anniversary of his professional MMA debut, which was November 7th of 2009. Edward Faaloloto will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with one of his MMA victories coming by submission.

WEC Featherweight Division Fight

Raphael Assuncao (15-3-0) vs. LC Davis (16-3-0)

Raphael Assuncao has had an interesting run in the WEC, defeating Jameel Massouh and Yves Jabouin, while suffering defeats to Urijah Faber and Diego Nunes. Raphael Assuncao also competed in the International Sport Combat Federation, defeating Chris Clark, Scott Johnson, Chad Lawshe, Brandon Bledsoe, Tyler Grunwald and Kevin Gittemeir. Raphael Assuncao started off his MMA career in impressive fashion, with a nine fight undefeated streak that had lasted nearly two years. Raphael Assuncao will be entering the fight trying to stop a two fight losing streak, which has lasted over nine months. Raphael Assuncao will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with nine victories coming by way of submission. LC Davis has had a successful run in the WEC, defeating Javier Vazquez, Diego Nunes and Deividas Taurosevicius, while suffering a lone defeat to Josh Grispi. LC Davis also competed in the International Fight League, defeating Jay Estrada, Conor Heun and Rafael Dias, while suffering a lone defeat to Wagney Fabiano. LC Davis got signed by the WEC in late 2009, following the demise of the Affliction MMA promotion. This fight against Raphael Assuncao will be the third fight of 2010 for LC Davis, as he split his first two fights. LC Davis will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with six prior victories coming by way of submission.
