Maiquel Jose Falcao will be making his UFC debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of the Tsunamy MMA promotion. While in Tsunamy MMA, Maiquel Jose Falcao defeated the trio of Josimar Lira Rodrigues, Anderson Brito and Claudio Mattos. Despite competing in professional MMA for over six years, Maiquel Jose Falcao has yet to have an MMA fight in North America. Maiquel Jose Falcao will be entering the fight riding a seven fight winning streak, which has lasted over a year. Maiquel Jose Falcao will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with twenty one victories coming by knockout. Gerald Harris is currently undefeated in UFC competition, with victories over John Salter, Mario Miranda and Dave Branch. Gerald Harris also competed in the International Fight League, where he suffered defeats to both Fabio Leopoldo and Benji Radach. Tim “The Barbarian” Boetsch (12-3-0) vs. “Mr. Wonderful” Phil Davis (7-0-0)

Tim Boetsch has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating David Heath, Michael Patt and Todd Brown, while suffering defeats to Matt Hamill and Jason Brilz. Tim Boetsch has also competed in the Extreme Challenge promotion, defeating Hazem Ibrahim, Oleg Savitsky and Brendan Barrett. Tim Boetsch took a year plus break from UFC competition, ranging from UFC 96 through UFC 117 in August 2010. Tim Boetsch will be entering the fight riding a four fight winning streak, which has lasted well over a year. Tim Boetsch will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with six victories coming by knockout. Phil Davis is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated Brian Stann, Alexander Gustafsson and Rodney Wallace. Joe Lauzon has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Jens Pulver, Brandon Melendez, Jason Reinhardt, Kyle Bradley, Jeremy Stephens and Gabe Ruediger, while suffering defeats to Kenny Florian and Sam Stout. Joe Lauzon is the older brother of professional MMA fighter Dan Lauzon, who has competed in both the UFC and Affliction MMA. Joe Lauzon was a cast member on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 5, which was eventually won by Nate Diaz. Joe Lauzon has split both of his fights thus far in 2010, defeating Gabe Ruediger and suffering a defeat to Sam Stout. Joe Lauzon will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with fifteen victories coming by way of submission. George Sotiropoulos is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated Billy Miles, Roman Mitchyan, George Roop, Jason Dent, Joe Stevenson and Kurt Pellegrino. George Sotiropoulos was a cast member on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 6, which was eventually won by Mac Danzig. George Sotiropoulos also competed in the Warriors Realm promotion, defeating Kelly Jacobs and Kyle Noke, while suffering a defeat to Kyle Noke. George Sotiropoulos will be entering the fight riding a seven fight winning streak, which has lasted over three years. George Sotiropoulos will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with seven victories coming by way of submission.

Matt Hughes (45-7-0) vs. “The Prodigy” BJ Penn (15-7-1)

Matt Hughes has had a long run in the UFC, defeating Valeri Ignatov, Marcelo Aguiar, Carlos Newton, Hayato Sakurai, Gil Castillo, Sean Sherk, Frank Trigg, Renato Verissimo, Georges St. Pierre, Joe Riggs, Royce Gracie, BJ Penn, Chris Lytle, Matt Serra, Renzo Gracie and Ricardo Almeida, while suffering defeats to Dennis Hallman, BJ Penn, Georges St. Pierre and Thiago Alves. Matt Hughes is a former two time UFC Welterweight Champion, defeating both Carlos Newton and Georges St. Pierre to win the championships. Matt Hughes was also a coach on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 2, which was won by both Joe Stevenson and Rashad Evans. Matt Hughes will be entering the fight riding a three fight winning streak, which has lasted well over a year. Matt Hughes will be looking to put the fight on the ground, with eighteen victories coming by way of submission. BJ Penn has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Joey Gilbert, Din Thomas, Caol Uno, Paul Creighton, Matt Serra, Matt Hughes, Jens Pulver, Joe Stevenson, Sean Sherk, Kenny Florian and Diego Sanchez, while suffering defeats to Jens Pulver, Georges St. Pierre, Matt Hughes and Frankie Edgar. BJ Penn is a former UFC Welterweight Champion and former UFC lightweight Champion, defeating both Matt Hughes and Joe Stevenson for the titles. Outside of Randy Couture, BJ Penn is the only UFC fighter to hold UFC titles in two different weight classes. Quinton Jackson has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Marvin Eastman, Chuck Liddell, Dan Henderson, Wanderlei Silva and Keith Jardine, while suffering defeats to Forrest Griffin and Rashad Evans. Quinton Jackson is a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, as he defeated Chuck Liddell at UFC 71 to win the gold. Quinton Jackson once took an extended break from UFC competition in order to film a role in the action movie “A-Team.” Quinton Jackson is currently winless in 2010, suffering a defeat to Rashad Evans at UFC 114 by unanimous decision. Quinton Jackson will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with fourteen victories coming by knockout. Lyoto Machida has had a successful run in the UFC, defeating Sam Hoger, David Heath, Kazuhiro Nakamura, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, Tito Ortiz, Thiago Silva, Rashad Evans and Mauricio Rua, while suffering a lone defeat to Mauricio Rua. Lyoto Machida is a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, as he defeated Rashad Evans at UFC 98 to win the title. Lyoto Machida started off his MMA career in impressive fashion, with a sixteen fight undefeated streak that had lasted over seven years. Prior to entering the UFC in early 2007, Lyoto Machida had defeated UFC veteran BJ Penn at a K-1 Hero’s event. Lyoto Machida will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with five victories coming by knockout.
