PREVIEWING THE UFC FIGHTS FOR THE TROOPS II FACEBOOK.COM CARD

As if the UFC making their debut on the Ion TV network earlier this year wasn’t enough, they are now heading to the worlds greatest social networking webpage. For this special preliminary card airing, the UFC has given the fans several TUF alumni and a top notch lightweight fighter. For those not accustomed to the Facebook universe, make sure that if you want to watch the preliminary fights, just hit the like button on the official UFC page.

The online attraction will kick off with a welterweight encounter as Mike “The Joker” Guymon (12-4-1) faces TUF alumni DaMarques Johnson (11-8-0). Mike Guymon is essentially battling for a job with this fight, as he has lost two of three fights in the UFC. DaMarques Johnson was a finalist on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 9, but was defeated by James Wilks at the finale. This fight is definitely DaMarques Johnson’s fight to lose, which is exactly what he will do on Saturday Night.

Headlining the Facebook live streaming action will be a lightweight encounter as Yves “Thugjitsu Master” Edwards (39-16-1) takes on Cody “AK Kid” McKenzie (12-0-0). Yves Edwards made a successful return to the UFC after a four year absence when he defeated John Gunderson at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 22. Cody McKenzie is currently undefeated in his young UFC run, defeating Aaron Wilkinson at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale. The key to winning the fight for Yves Edwards is to stop the dominating ground game of Cody McKenzie, which is something he cannot do and Cody McKenzie will keep his undefeated streak alive.
