UFC ON VERSUS III FACEBOOK CARD PREVIEW

The world of social media collides with the world’s fastest rising sport once again on Thursday Night when two fights are streamed on Facebook. The two fights will feature a UFC Ultimate Fighter champion and the final ever WEC Light Heavyweight Champion. For those who want to check it all out, go to the UFC’s Facebook page at 8pm EST. this Thursday Night.

Kicking off the streaming action will be a light heavyweight fight as Cyrille “Snake” Diabate (16-7-1) taking on Steve “The Robot” Cantwell (7-3-0). Cyrille Diabate made an immediate impact in his UFC debut at UFC 114 when he defeated Luiz Cane by TKO. Steve Cantwell was the final WEC Light Heavyweight Champion and hasn’t competed in an MMA fight in well over a year. This fight is going to be determined by the amount of cage rust on the shoulders of Steve Cantwell, but Steve Cantwell’s ground game will help him in defeating Cyrille Diabate.

Headlining this special online card is a lightweight encounter as Danny “Last Call” Castillo (10-3-0) takes on Joe “Daddy” Stevenson (31-12-0). Danny Castillo will be making his UFC debut in this fight, but does hold a victory over the final WEC Lightweight Champion in Anthony Pettis. Joe Stevenson has had a rough time since losing his bid at the UFC Lightweight Title at UFC 80, winning three of seven fights since that night. With that being said, Joe Stevenson is far more experienced than his opponent and that experience will help him defeat the UFC rookie.
