Headlining this card will be an important welterweight encounter as Martin “The Hitman†Kampmann (17-4-0) takes on Diego “Nightmare†Sanchez (22-4-0). Martin Kampmann is a long tenured UFC fighter and is coming off a loss in a UFC Welterweight Title contenders fight to Jake Shields. Diego Sanchez is a winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter and is coming off a victory over Paulo Thiago at UFC 121. This fight is going to be a war of attrition and it is going to be a war that Diego Sanchez will be victorious from.
In the evenings co-main event, two middleweights will do battle as CB “The Doberman†Dollaway (11-2-0) faces Mark “The Phillipine Wrecking Machine†Munoz (9-2-0). CB Dollaway has now won three straight in the UFC, including a huge victory over Joe Doerkson at UFC 119. Mark Munoz has won four of his last six in the promotion, recently defeating top ranked Aaron Simpson at UFC 123. The fight is going to be a wrestler versus wrestler duel and Mark Munoz is the stronger wrestler in this battle.
A pair of middleweights will compete next as Alessio “Legionarius†Sakara (15-7-0) takes on Chris Weidman (4-0-0). Alessio Sakara is quickly rising up the middleweight rankings and has now won three straight fights in the UFC. Chris Weidman is making his UFC debut in this fight and a late replacement for Rafael Natal, who was injured training for the fight. Alessio Sakara is far too dangerous a fighter for a relative rookie to defeat and being a late replacement doesn’t help him either.
Opening up the fight card will be a bantamweight contest as Brian Bowles (8-1-0) takes on “The Angel Of Death†Damacio Page (15-5-0). Brian Bowles is the former WEC Bantamweight Champion, but hasn’t competed in an MMA fights in nearly a year. Damacio Page is also going to be making his UFC debut in this fight and has already suffered a defeat to Brian Bowles at WEC 35. If Brian Bowles is entering the octagon healthy, then he will be walking away with a victory on Thursday Night.
