CHIKARA NATION: THE OFFICIAL PREVIEW FOR CHIKARA'S RETURN PA THIS SATURDAY

By Joshua Higham on 3/7/2011 2:25 PM

Chikara presents “Operation Big Freeze” March 12, 2011 at the Campbell Street Center in Williamsport, PA. Belltime is 7 pm.
The month before King of Trios, the night before their return to Brooklyn, Chikara makes their debut in Williamsport, PA. On top of wrestlers preparing for the King of Trios and the creation of a championship, the home of the Little League World Series will be the place where The Band makes their Chikara debut.

Mike Quackenbush and Incoherence (Hallowicked and Frightmare) vs. The BDK (Claudio Castagnoli, Sara Del Rey, and Tim Donst)

Team Frightning, an entrant in last year’s King of Trios, reunites to take on this contingent for the Bruderschaft in another battle in the BDK’s war against Chikara. They all have a long history with each other, which I couldn’t possibly cover in a paragraph’s space. But the story to watch for me is Tim Donst and Hallowicked: Tim Donst is surely looking for revenge on Hallowicked after ‘Wicked caused Donst to lose to Max Boyer last month.

Willie “Da Bomb” Richardson vs. Tursas

The two biggest men on the Chikara roster will go at it one on one. In a company that makes it name in American Lucha Libre, these two super heavyweights will make the building shake. With opponents roughly the same size, both men may find their respective finishers and power moves—Richardson’s Pounce and Tursas’ Black Hole Slam—useless.

The Osirian Portal (Amasis, Ophidian, and Hieracon) vs. Sinn Bodhi and The Batiri (Obariyon and Kodama)

Both teams will attempt to gain momentum on their way to the Kings of Trios. The new Osirian Portal have yet to lose a match as a trio while Sinn Bodhi and his henchmen, Obariyon and Kodama, have yet to wrestle a match as a trio. But The Batiri have been impressive since their debut, and you never know what tricks Sinn Bodhi has up his sleeve. A win for both teams could mean huge things going into the tournament.

Madison Eagles vs. Toshie Uematsu

The former WCW Women’s Cruiserweight Champion takes on the current Shimmer Women’s Champion. This is Uematsu’s first trip to America in a long time, and Eagles has been on an extended stay here, keeping Chikara as her American homebase so far. A joshi veteran like Uematsu will be a challenge for Eagles two weeks before the next set of Shimmer events.

Fire Ant vs. Icarus

Fire Ant will be teaming with Soldier Ant the next night to challenge for the Campeonatos de Parejas. As a warmup for that big bout, he will be facing a Chikara original, Icarus. Icarus is standing alone in the month of March as his FIST stablemates are touring Japan with Dragon Gate USA. FIST vs. Colony is one of the classic Chikara feuds with Icarus losing his hair to the Colony back in 2009. Icarus will always hold that grudge, so doing damage to Fire Ant before his title shot might be high on the his agenda.

Atomicos Action: 3.0 (Scott Parker and Shane Matthews) and The Throwbacks (Dasher Hatfield and Sugar Dunkerton) vs. The Roughnecks (Grizzly Redwood and Brodie Lee) and The UnStable (Stigma and Vin Gerard)

Two different feuds collide in a Chikara-classic 8-man tag. The Throwbacks and The Roughnecks have been at each other’s throats since “Scornucopia” last November when the Roughnecks reunited to attack Dasher Hatfield. 3.0 and the UnStable got involved at the each other’s matches at “Clutch of Doom” in February. UnStable surely wants a bit of revenge on the The Throwbacks for losing to them in February.

Da Soul Touchaz (Acid Jaz and Marshe Rockett) vs. BDK (Lince Dorado and Pinkie Sanchez)

Da Soul Touchaz have been battling with the Bruderschaft for almost a year. They now have revenge on their minds after the BDK attacked and sent C-Red and Dymond (manager and valet of Da Soul Touchaz) out of the wrestling business. But Dorado and Sanchez have been sitting on two points since last fall and are one win away from challenging for the Campeonatos de Parejas. Lince was charged with bringing the Young Lions Cup back to the BDK, but he may be able to bring back different gold.

And The Band arrives in Chikara.

Now, what Band? Is it the TNA version of the New World Order? Is it some debut or return of another group? No matter who it is, Chikara has already announced that Eddie Kingston will be there and ready to confront whoever this faction may be.
