UFC 128: SHOGUN VS. JONES FACEBOOK CARD PREVIEW

For the longest amount of time, Spike TV was the home of the UFC, but now the UFC has a second home on Facebook. For the third time in 2010, the UFC will be airing two preliminary card fights on the popular social media website. The fights on Facebook begin at 8pm EST. and will feature a local New Jersey lightweight fighter and an important welterweight contest.

Kicking off the online card will be a lightweight contest as Kurt “Batman” Pellegrino (16-5-0) takes on Gleison Tibau (21-7-0). Kurt Pellegrino was on an impressive four fight winning streak in the UFC, but then fell victim to George Sotiropoulos at UFC 116. Gleison Tibau is coming off a much debated defeat to Jim Miller at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 22, but had a two fight win streak prior. This is going to be a good battler on the ground and Gleison Tibau will win as he is the far stronger fighter on the ground.

Headlining the social network card is a welterweight battle as Ricardo “Cachorra” Almeida (13-4-0) takes on Mike “Quicksand” Pyle (20-7-1). Ricardo Almeida rebounded from the Matt Hughes defeat at UFC 117 by defeating TJ Grant by unanimous decision at UFC 124. Mike Pyle enters this fight riding a two fight winning streak with victories over Jesse Lennox and John Hathaway. This fight is going to be another spectacular ground battle, which I am predicting will be won by Mike Pyle.
