BELLATOR FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 41 TELEVISED CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 4/15/2011 1:55 PM
The Bellator Fighting Championships returns on Saturday Night with two champions in action and the semi-finals of the featherweight tournament. BFC Featherweight Champion Joe Warren and BFC Welterweight Champion Zack Makovsky will be in action. The BFC Featherweight Tournament Finals will be set on Saturday Night as all four semi-finalists will be competing.

Headlining this card is a non-title encounter as BFC Featherweight Champion Joe Warren (6-1-0) takes on Marcos “Louro” Galvao (9-3-1). Joe Warren won the BFC Featherweight Championship at Bellator 27 when he defeated Greg Soto by knockout. Marcos Galvao has spent some time in the World Extremer Cagefighting promotion, suffering two defeats there. This fight is going to be a struggle between two excellent ground fighters, but champion Joe Warren is going to be successful.

Another non-title fight will take place next as BFC Welterweight Champion Zack “Fun Size” Mackovsky (12-2-0) faces Chad “Robo” Robichaux (11-0-0). Zack Makovsky won the BFC Welterweight Title when he defeated Bryan Goldsby by unanimous decision at Bellator 30. Chad Robichaux is an undefeated fighter who recently defeated Humberto DeLeon at Strikeforce: Houston. Despite being undefeated, Chad Robichaux has not faced the level of competition that Zack Makovsky has, which will cost him the fight.

A BFC Featherweight Tournament Semi-Final fight is up next as Wilson Reis (12-2-0) does battle with Patricio “Pitbull” Freire (15-1-0). Wilson Reis earned his way into the semi-finals by defeating Zac George by way of submission at Bellator 37. Patricio Freire got into the semi-finals when he defeated Georgi Karakhanyan by fantastic TKO at Bellator 37. This fight could have easily been the tournament finals, but it will be Patricio Freire actually going to the finals.

Kicking off the card is a BFC Featherweight Tournament Semi-Final fight as Kenny “The Tooth Fairy” Foster (9-2-0) goes to war with Daniel Straus (15-3-0). Kenny Foster punched his ticket to the tournament semi-finals by defeating Eric Larkin at Bellator 37. Daniel Straus got himself into the semi-finals when he defeated Nazareno Malegarie by unanimous decision at Bellator 37. This fight is going to be a good battle of up and comers, but it will be Kenny Foster earning himself the victory.
