Kicking off the action is a middleweight encounter as Tim “The Barbarian†Boetsch (12-4-0) faces Kendall “Da Spyder†Grove (12-8-0). Since returning to the UFC late last year, Tim Boetsch has split his two fights in the promotion with a notable loss to Phil Davis. Kendall Grove may be fighting for a job in the UFC in this fight, losing two of his last three fights in the promotion. This fight is a battle to avoid a pink slip and Kendall Grove will become the fighter not getting the pink slip after this fight is over.
Headlining this portion of the card is a bantamweight fight as Demetrious “Mighty Mouse†Johnson (8-1-0) takes on Miguel Torres (39-3-0). Demetrious Johnson made a major impact in his UFC debut, defeating top ranked Japanese fighter Norifumi Yamamoto at UFC 126. Miguel Torres is a former WEC Bantamweight Champion and he scored a victory over Antonio Banuelos at UFC 126 in his UFC debut. This fight is prime for a huge upset, which is exactly what Demetrious Johnson will be pulling over Miguel Torres on Saturday Night.
