BELLATOR FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 46 TELEVISED CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 6/23/2011 11:30 AM
Three events will take place under the Bellator banner this summer and they all kick off this Saturday Night with Bellator 46. The self-titled “Summer Series” for Bellator begins with the opening round of the Bellator Featherweight Tournament. There are plenty of great fighters in this tournament, including BFC Lightweight Title challenger Pat Curran and Ronnie Mann.

The card kicks off with a BFC Featherweight Tournament Opening Round Fight as Jacob Devree (10-1-0) takes on Nazareno “Naza” Malegarie (19-1-0). Jacob Devree enters the fight riding a seven fight winning streak, with those victories coming in the Rage In The Cage and C3 Fights promotions. Nazareno Malegarie is currently winless in Bellator, suffering a defeat to Daniel Straus at Bellator 37. Despite the winless record in Bellator, Nazareno Malegarie is going to earn the victory over Jacob Devree.

Another BFC Featherweight Tournament Opening Round Fight comes up next as Pat Curran (13-4-0) faces Luis “Baboon” Palomino (16-6-0). Pat Curran has already won a tournament in Bellator, as he won the season three BFC Lightweight Tournament. Luis Palomino enters the fight riding a three fight winning streak and he has just fought a little over a month ago. This fight should be an exciting scrap, but Pat Curran’s tournament experience will carry him to a victory.

Up next is a BFC Featherweight Tournament Opening Round Fight as Ronnie “Kid Ninja” Mann (19-2-1) does battle with Adam Schindler (9-1-0). Ronnie Mann is currently undefeated in Bellator competition, having defeated Josh Arocho at Bellator 42. Adam Schindler enters the fight riding a six fight winning streak, which includes a victory in the Strikeforce. Adam Schindler is a fighter on the rise, but Ronnie Mann will be picking up the victory with his submission skills.

Headlining this card is a BFC Featherweight Tournament Opening Round Fight as Genair “Junior PQD” Da Silva (10-3-0) squares off against Marlon Sandro (17-2-0). Genair Da Silva will not only be making his Bellator debut in this fight, but this North American MMA debut as well. Marlon Sandro is coming off an impressive run in the Sengoku promotion, winning five of seven in the promotion. This should be an exciting battle between two top international fighters, but it will be Genair Da Silva picking up the win.
