Kicking off the action is a lightweight division affair as Dennis Siver (18-7-0) goes to battle against “Handsome†Matt Wiman (13-5-0). Dennis Siver has won three straight in the UFC, most recently defeating George Sotiropoulos at UFC 127. Matt Wiman also enters the fight riding a three fight winning streak, with notable wins over Mac Danzig and Cole Miller. This fight is going to come down to how Matt Wiman fights Dennis Siver, but I see Dennis Siver slugging out the win.
A pair of welterweights are set to do battle next as “The Natural Born Killer†Carlos Condit (26-5-0) faces off with Dong “Stun Gun†Hyun Kim (14-0-1). Carlos Condit has won three of four in the UFC, with his biggest win coming over Dan Hardy at UFC 120 last year. Dong Hyun Kim is undefeated in MMA competition, while holding victories over UFC Ultimate Fighter Champions Amir Sadollah and Nate Diaz. This fight will be about whether or not it can be fought on the ground, which is where I see Dong Hyun Kim getting the victory.
Light heavyweight fighters are set to compete next as Ryan “Darth†Bader (12-1-0) faces “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy†Tito Ortiz (15-8-1). Ryan Bader recently had his undefeated streak comes to an end at the hands of Jon Jones, which was a UFC Light Heavyweight Title eliminator. Tito Ortiz has not won an MMA fight in nearly five years, with his last win coming over Ken Shamrock at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 7. The winless streak will continue for Tito Ortiz, as Ryan Bader outwrestles him for the decision victory.
A potential title eliminator in the middleweight division is up next as “The Axe Murderer†Wanderlei Silva (33-10-1) squares off with Chris “The Crippler†Leben (25-7-0). It has been well over a year since Wanderlei Silva last competed, which was a victory over Michael Bisping at UFC 110. Chris Leben has won three of his last four in the UFC, with a big victory over Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 116. This should be nothing short of an amazing slugfest, which I see Chris Leben pulling out the big victory.
Headlining this event is a UFC Bantamweight Title Fight as Dominick “The Dominator†Cruz (17-1-0) defends against “The California Kid†Urijah Faber (25-4-0). Dominick Cruz will enter the fight riding an eight fight winning streak and this will actually be his official UFC debut. Urijah Faber already holds a victory over Dominick Cruz, which happened by submission at WEC 26 over four years ago. This fight will be a repeat in history as Urijah Faber ground and pounds Dominick Cruz on route to winning the gold.
