The event will kick off with a middleweight division encounter as Eddie “Crazy Face†Arizmendi (14-4-0) faces off with Jason “GI Jason†Norwood (11-2-0). Eddie Arizmendi has fought thirteen times in the Rage In The Cage promotion, winning nine of those fights. Jason Norwood is currently undefeated in the M-1 Challenge, defeating Billy Horne by unanimous decision. This fight will be largely fought somewhere on the mats, but it will be Jason Norwood remaining undefeated in M-1.
The next fight on the card will be held in the welterweight division as Beau “Blackjack†Baker (8-4-0) goes to battle against Daniel Weichel (26-7-0). Beau Baker is currently winless in M-1 Challenge competition, but he does hold a victory over UFC veteran Tommy Speer. Daniel Weichel enters this fight riding a three fight winning streak, with two of those victories coming in M-1 Challenge. Daniel Weichel is the far superior fighter in this clash and it will show as he achieves victory on Friday Night.
A pair of lightweight fighters are set to do battle next as Josh “Iron Heart†Bacallao (6-2-0) faces Mairbeck “Beckan†Taisumov (14-3-0). Josh Bacallao has won three of his last five fights, but he hasn’t competed in an MMA fight in nearly a full year. Mairbeck Taisumov has competed five times thus far in M-1 Challenge and he has won four of those fights. Mairbeck Taisumov is the more well-rounded of the two fighters and that will be his strengths to gain victory.
The co-main event is a middleweight division clash as Arthur Guseinov (7-2-0) is set to take on Tyson Jeffries (7-5-0). Arthur Guseinov enters this fight riding a two fight losing streak, with one of those losses coming to UFC veteran Luigi Fioravanti. Tyson Jeffries has been pretty dominant in M-1 Challenge, winning three of four in the promotion. This fight is a classic striker versus grappler encounter, but I see the grappler in Tyson Jeffries getting the duke.
Headlining this card is a heavyweight division rematch at Pat Bennett (4-2-0) takes on Kenny “Deuce†Garner (6-3-0). Pat Bennett has fought four times in the M-1 Challenge and he has also faced Bellator Heavyweight Champion Cole Konrad. Kenny Garner already holds a victory over Pat Bennett, which happened at the M-1 Selection 2010: The Americas Finals event this past September. This fight should be a good slugfest, but I see no different result here as Kenny Garner [picks up another victory.
