TITAN FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 19 PREVIEWS PART ONE

By David Tees on 7/26/2011 10:10 AM
Despite a huge name dropping off the card, Titan Fighting Championships returns to HDNet with an exciting seven fight card. The first half of the card features a battle of undefeated fighters and a fighter with the same name as a famous actor. Since the Titan Fighting Championships has yet to delegate what’s airing on TV and what’s a preliminary fight, I just broke the preview into two parts.

Kicking off the card is a bantamweight division fight as Anthony “Shark Bait” Gutierrez (2-0-0) takes on Cody “Locked & Loaded” Land (2-0-0). Anthony Gutierrez has fought all of his MMA fights thus far in Titan Fighting Championships, with both fights ending in the first round. Cody Land is coming off of a win in the Extreme Challenge promotion, defeating Steve Greise by submission. This fight is a battle of two young prospects, but it will be Anthony Gutierrez remaining undefeated in the end.

We move into the featherweight division for the next fight as Joe “The Nose” Wilk (11-6-0) goes into battle against Willian De Souza (3-2-0). Joe Wilk enters the fight riding a two fight winning streak, with one of those wins occurring at Titan Fighting Championships 18. Willian De Souza is currently winless in TFC, losing to Eric Marriott by unanimous decision at Titan Fighting Championships 17. While Willian De Souza is a top prospect, he does not have the tools to be defeating Joe Wilk right now.

Up next is a heavyweight division encounter as Daniel Gallemore (0-0-0) goes into battle against Alex Huddleston (0-0-0). Daniel Gallemore will not only be making his TFC debut in this fight, but his professional MMA debut as well. Alex Huddleston will not only be making his TFC debut in this fight, but his professional MMA debut as well. This is a battle of heavyweight newcomers, but the added amateur MMA experience of Alex Huddleston will help him achieve victory.

The final fight being previewed in this column is a middleweight division fight as Nick “Kansas City Head Case” Nolte (3-3-0) faces Marcio Navarro (7-5-0). Nick Nolte is coming off of the biggest fight of his career, which was a loss to Phil Baroni at Titan Fighting Championships 18. Marcio Navarro has won three of his last four fights, with two appearances coming in the Xtreme Fight League. This fight is to see if Nick Nolte will bounce back from the Phil Baroni loss and it will not happen as Marcio Navarro achieves victory.
