With three times more fights than the last time the UFC aired on Fox, title implications and future challengers will be decided on Saturday Night. The next challengers for both the UFC Light Heavyweight Title and UFC Middleweight Title will be determined in the two main events. Also, there is a key fight in the middleweight division that could determine the number two contender to the middleweight gold.
Kicking off the action is a middleweight division contest as Damian Maia (15-3-0) battles Chris “All American†Weidman (7-0-0). Damian Maia has won three of four since losing to UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, last defeating Jorge Santiago at UFC 136. Chris Weidman is undefeated in UFC competition, achieving victories over Alessio Sakara, Jesse Bongfeldt and Tom Lawlor. This fight is going to be a battle between to different kinds of ground fighters, but it will be Chris Weidman pulling the upset.
Up next is a UFC Middleweight Title eliminator as Michael “The Count†Bisping (22-3-0) takes on Chael Sonnen (26-11-1). Michael Bisping enters the fight riding a four fight winning streak, last defeating Jason Miller at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale. Chael Sonnen has won his lone fight since returning from his suspension, defeating Brian Stann at UFC 136. This fight could lead to the biggest rematch in UFC history and it will happen as Chael Sonnen pulls out the victory.
Headlining this card is a UFC Light Heavyweight Title eliminator as “Mr. Wonderful†Phil Davis (9-0-0) faces “Suga†Rashad Evans (16-1-1). Phil Davis is currently undefeated in UFC competition with victories over Brian Stann, Alexander Gustafsson, Rodney Wallace, Tim Boetsch and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Rashad Evans has won three fights since losing his UFC Light Heavyweight Title, last defeating Tito Ortiz at UFC 133. This fight is between two very even wrestlers, but Rashad Evans is the better striker and that will earn him the victory.
