BELLATOR 60 SPIKE.COM PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 3/7/2012 7:29 PM

After several months off, the Bellator Fighting Championships returns to action with a stacked card featuring a featherweight title fight. Much like season five, season six of Bellator is going to be featuring preliminary card action streaming live on Spike.com. The first preliminary card of the season features a lot of great fights, with three UFC veterans stepping in the cage.

Kicking off the action is a featherweight division dual as Bobby “The Believer” Reardanz (8-10-0) collides with Kenny “The Tooth Fairy” Foster (9-5-0). Despite having a poor professional MMA record, Bobby Reardanz is entering the fight riding a two fight winning streak. Kenny Foster has fought four of his last five in Bellator, but he enters this fight riding a three fight losing streak. This fight will be a test for Kenny Foster to remain relevant in Bellator and he will earn the victory to do so.

A lightweight division fight will take place next as Shamar Bailey (13-5-0) stands across the cage from Josh Shockley (8-1-0). This will be the second fight Shamar Bailey has fought since being released from the UFC, which happened after he lost two of three in the promotion. Josh Shockley has split both of his fight in Bellator, defeating Eric Moon and suffering a defeat to Toby Imada. This fight should have been on the main card, but either way it will be Shamar Bailey picking up the victory.

We move to the super heavyweight division for the next contest as Sean “Big Sexy” McCorkle (15-2-0) does battle with Richard “Big Man” White (15-12-0). Sean McCorkle enters the fight riding a five fight winning streak and he has not been defeated since being released by the UFC. Richard White enters the fight riding a three fight losing streak, with his last victory coming over Zach Thumb in April 2011. This fight is kind of useless since Bellator has no super heavyweight champion or division, but it will be Sean McCorkle picking up the win.

Bantamweight fighters will be featured next as Lance Surma (0-0-0) makes his debut against Eric Oria (0-0-0). Lance Surma will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he has competed as an amateur beforehand. Eric Oria will also be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but it has been more than two years since he even competed in an amateur fight. It is always a slight pick ‘em when two fighters are making their professional debuts, but I’m going with Eric Oria here.

Up next is a light heavyweight division battle as Anthony Gomez (5-1-0) faces Travis “Diesel” Wiuff (65-14-0). Anthony Gomez enters the fight riding a five fight winning streak, but he has not competed in nearly two years. Travis Wiuff enters this fight already holding a victory over BFC Light Heavyweight Champion Christian M’Pumbu in a non-title fight, which happened at Bellator 55. There is a huge experience disadvantage for Anthony Gomez here, which is why Travis Wiuff will win.

Headlining this portion of the card is another bantamweight division fight as Cory Galloway (0-0-0) takes on Jake Nauracy (0-0-0). Cory Galloway will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he has competed previously as an amateur. Jake Nauracy will also be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he has competed as an amateur within the last year. This is another pick ‘em like the last bantamweight fight, but it will be Jake Nauracy pulling out the big win.
