With the sixth season of Bellator nearing its conclusion, Bellator 67 is ready to shine on MTV2 with a star studded card. The Bellator Lightweight Champion will be in action and there is a semi-final fight in the welterweight tournament. Also, there will be a couple of feature fights taking place in the heavyweight division and welterweight division.
Kicking off the action is a heavyweight division fight as Damian “Polish Pitbull†Grabowski (15-1-0) contends with Dave “Bad Man†Huckaba (17-4-0). Damian Grabowski fought less than a week ago at MMA Attack II, defeating UFC veteran Eddie Sanchez. Dave Huckaba enters the fight riding a six fight winning streak, which has lasted well over two years now. The winner of this fight could enter the next heavyweight tournament and that fighter will be Damian Grabowski.
We move to the welterweight division for the next fight as Luis “Sapo†Santos (50-7-0) battles Ryan “The Real Deal†Ford (17-4-0). Luis Santos made it to the semi-finals of the season five welterweight tournament before losing to Ben Saunders. Ryan Ford has won five of six entering this fight, with victories over UFC veterans Pete Spratt and Karo Parisyan. This is easily one of the better welterweight fights Bellator has put together, but it will be Ryan Ford coming out on top.
Up next is a Bellator Welterweight Tournament Semi-Final fight as Bryan “The Beast†Baker (17-3-0) faces Ben “Killa B†Saunders (13-4-0). Bryan Baker earned his spot in the tournament semi-finals by defeating Carlos Alexandre Pereira at Bellator 63. Ben Saunders punched his ticket to the semi-finals by defeating Raul Amaya by decision at Bellator 63 in March. This fight has all the potential to be fight of the night, but it will be Bryan Baker making it to the finals in this one.
Headlining this card is a non-title fight as Bellator Lightweight Champion Michael Chandler (9-0-0) takes on Akihiro Gono (32-17-0). Michael Chandler won the championship when he defeated Eddie Alvarez by submission at Bellator 58 in November. Akihiro Gono enters the fight riding a two fight losing streak and he has only fought once in the last two years. This fight will definitely be a stellar challenge for Michael Chandler, but he will remain undefeated in the end.
