We are nearing the home stretch of season number six for Bellator and the company is coming forward with another top notch card this weekend. The Spike.com Preliminary Card will kick things off with six fights, including one with a past Bellator Lightweight Tournament competitor. This week, Bellator 68 is going head to head with Legacy Fighting Championships 11, which airs on HDNet this Friday Night.
Kicking off the action is a featherweight division fight as Eddie Fyvie (9-5-0) competes against Jeff Lentz (9-2-0). Eddie Fyvie has only won one of his last four, but that lone victory came over Bellator veteran Lester Caslow. Jeff Lentz is currently undefeated in Bellator competition, having defeated Anthony Leone at Bellator 44. This fight is a rematch of a June 2009 fight and the result will repeat itself here as Jeff Lentz picks up the victory.
The welterweights will step into the cage next as Aung La “The Burmese Python†Nsang (9-7-0) does battle with Jesus “Chavo†Martinez (6-2-0). Aung La Nsang has won two of his last six heading into this fight, but has competed against UFC veteran Constantinos Philippou. Jesus Martinez is currently winless in Bellator competition, having lost to Karl Amoussou at Bellator 59 by TKO. This is a battle of two fighters who need a win badly and it will be Jesus Martinez getting that win.
We move to the middleweight division for the next contest as Francois Ambang (1-3-0) is tested against Gregory “The Arubian Assassin†Millard (2-2-0). Francois Ambang recently achieved the first victory of his career, which was over Darrell Smith at American MMA Fight League III. Gregory Millard is currently undefeated in Bellator competition, having defeated Brandon Saling at Bellator 59. While getting that first victory was big for Francois Ambang, there will not be a second at the moment as Gregory Millard gets the win.
Bantamweight fighters will be featured in the next as fight Claudio Ledesma (6-2-0) battles Anthony Leone (10-5-0). Claudio Ledesma is currently undefeated in Bellator competition, having defeated Brian Kelleher at Bellator 54. Anthony Leone is currently winless in Bellator competition, having suffered losses to both Georgi Karakhanyan and Jeff Lentz. This fight may be the show stealer of the preliminary card and it will be Anthony Leone getting the duke here.
Up next is a lightweight division battle as Marcin Held (12-2-0) signed on to battle Derrick “DK†Kennington (6-2-0). Marcin Held was a season four lightweight tournament competitor, losing to eventual winner Michael Chandler in the opening round. Derrick Kennington is coming off of a victory over Chad Hinton, but he has not competed in nearly two years. The long layoff is going to hurt Derrick Kennington in this one as Marcin Held gets a much need Bellator victory.
Headlining this portion of the card is a lightweight division affair as Don Carlo-Clauss (8-6-0) faces Jacob “The Hunter†Kirwan (9-4-0). Don Carlo-Clauss has only won one of his last four, but he has competed once in the Strikeforce promotion. Jacob Kirwan has split both of his Bellator appearances, defeated Rene Nazare and suffering a defeat to Dave Jansen. This fight is an excellent way to cap off the preliminary card, but it will be Jacob Kirwan earning the victory.
